Aristotle is all business. It's his job to help keep an eye on fetuses and developing dragonets, so that's what he does. The only thing he does. In fact, it's the only thing he can do. He is incredibly intelligent and capable of adapting to any kind of task as far as monitoring fetuses go. Ask him to do anything else, however, and he's clueless. He can only do things that somehow tie back to his job, even if only vaguely. He can feed himself only because he has to eat to have energy to watch the dragonets, and he's capable of dressing himself only because of requirements on proper lab attire. Even relieving himself is a sub-task -- it would be unsanitary to soil the lab, after all.
It's also no good to ask him things like, for example, what he wants for dinner. He may know how to eat, and where to go to get his meals, but asking him to pick a favorite dish will only result in a blank stare.
