Doctor Schroeder commented in the preview letter featuring Anei'Ranbu that his bonding of a whorling proves that humanoid candidates are not necessarily preferred. However, in Anei's case, this also means that non-humanoid are preferred: he loves animals, whether sentient or not. He bonded Felix as much because he thought he was cute and furry as because he thought the gryphon whorling would make a good bond! He doesn't share quite as much of Felix's innate curiosity, being a more calm and thoughtful individual in that he thinks more than he asks, but he likes to know as much as the next creature. On the whole, he is friendly and reliable, but he prefers four-foots of various types to two-foots!
