"How much do you believe in what destiny has in store for you?"

Chevonde paused from her round of stretches at the voice, thick chest still heaving from the intensity of her workout. If nothing else, she had at least finished before the speaker's arrival, moving on to her cool down routine. A turn of the head told her what she needed to know: that it was, indeed, her bond's brother's bond indeed.

"I believe that destiny is what you make of it, rather than anything predetermined," the yautjadragon rumbled in her own accented version of the Kien's tongue, mandibles clicking.

Advancing further the Tecii nodded, one robin's egg blue eye turning towards the training equipment critically. Her muzzle curved in a smile towards Chevonde. The yautjadragon remembered this, Demije often did it when she knew something about whatever her gift had told her. What might annoy some did not bother her. "Did you think about why your bonded is so upset lately, then?"

A flick of the tail from Chevonde, and she didn't answer immediately. Nairne had been withdrawn lately, though her mind was always open to the yautjadragon, she had respected the Dysiniu's decision not to tell. For the most part. A very long pause, and then she finally did answer Demije's inquiry with one of her own, "What do you see, Tecii?"

"Hear," Demije amended quickly, lowering her wings to the sides from their usually erect position. "I know you do not feel the way of things that I do, but you might wish to talk to your bonded about making a return trip to your Grandfather." A mysterious smile, that might have annoyed some, and the Tecii turned to leave the way she had come.

Chevonde allowed her to leave, finishing her routine in thought. Never one to act immediately unless a situation called for it, the Venator made time for this, and once she felt sufficiently cooled down from the exercises went off to find her bonded. Without the armor of her kind and rank, she did not look less imposing, and a few of the young students around Queen Yuraodru's sanctuary part of the palace gave her peculiar looks. A few waved in greeting to one who spent her time training them. Either way, Chevonde was unbothered, she was used to being far uglier than the pretty Kien dragons.

Nairne was lurking around one of the higher ledges, her wings folded over her back, handlike paws hanging off the edge. A beautiful view, though Chevonde often remembered it, and she did her best thinking and calming when training. Though Nairne seemed to like the view and idle time. At least Chevonde knew to find there, like the Dysiniu in turn knew her bonded would often by honing her body.

"Do you ever regret bonding?" asked the Blooded as she sat down alongside her reclining bond, bending thick hindlegs and resting her shorter arms down before her, thick fingers against the stone. There was no regret in her own voice, or hurt, but rather a question.

"No," Nairne asked, somewhat started at her bond's arrival. She must have been rather deep in thought, or so Chevonde thought. A long pause. They both knew what the question was about, the traditions of the Dysiniu that they held to. For a long moment, the Dysiniu bowed her head before answering. Chevonde could feel her thoughts drifting past like ghosts beyond her own mind. "You know I do not, but this is not where I saw myself after I had left service as a spy and assassin, Chevonde. I...."

A light nod from Chevonde in return and she leaned over towards the smaller, more slender dragoness. Shoulder to shoulder though she had to bow over some. "You wanted children, but you have a bondmate who you cannot have them with; but you would not expect another to take you, nor would you wish to bring another. We do not need another." She already knew this was correct.

"Children are not everything in the world," stated Nairne simply, washed out golden eyes slitting closed for a moment as she regarded Chevonde. "I could not think of another bondmate."

Now it was Chevonde's turn to smile mysteriously, but they already knew what was being discussed. "The Tecii suggested going to see my grandfather." A simple statement, and neither one was really talkative about such things, but they both understood—and agreed.

Thankfully Schroeder himself at least got a better explanation when both showed up at the Abstract Destiny.
