Once she's inspected the light, cooed over it a little, and gotten used to its presence, she can be as quick-minded and clever as can be. It's just a thing she has to do first, and nobody--not even her--really knows why.

A determined fellow, he'll keep going for days until he learns what he wants to learn, or do something he really wants to do. He'll probably take it into his head to hunt down just why his new friend isn't sleeping, and forgo sleep himself until he's figured it out! Or, at least, try to forgo sleep himself.
