By the way, the character listing on the Avengaea Pre-Bonding Ceremony page is incomplete. I'd like you to help me complete it, because StarFyre is lazy and doesn't feel like picking through the RP to find every single name of import. So! Tell me what names of import I've missed, and (if possible) a link to where they are at current.

Also, if someone would like to create a little DM symbol to place next to the DM's name (instead of me just typing (DM) ), by all means go ahead.

So! Comments, criticisms, "Boo! Take it down, Starry!"? =P This was all done after midnight my time, so some of it's probably not the best.

Hurr, all the kits. Some of them don't have names yet. How about after the bonding wraps up (once, I assume, all the ones that are gonna get names, get names), I post the list of who all was there?

Also, Dray and I were talking, and what if we made the main "My Room" the OOC room, and turned another room, like "RP Main", into the RP center? That way, people stumbling into the main chatroom for the first time won't get (as) confused.

Or, is there a way to ax the 'My room' tab completely, and have the OOC Room be the first one that people show up at when they first join the chat?

I was actually going to suggest the same thing...I'll do some digging around in the chat files and see if I can change the name of the default room, because I agree, being able to just hop in and start chatting without disrupting the RP would be good!

Glad you all like what I did ^^ Do people like the way the log is displayed? I fiddled around with several different looks last night and none of them really read 'smoothly' except for this. If anyone can think of another display method, however, shoot.

Dray: Snerk, totally sniped you. Thanks for the list of names+links, though *goes to add that to the page* And that DM symbol sounds very appropriate for us =P

JKat: That sounds fine with the list of kit names.

Also, the less confusion we can make in terms of "where do I go for chatting?" the better. I'm almost positive there's a way to change the name of the default room, because that name has to be coded into the program somewhere! =P

EDIT: Also, also - something that came to me in my sleep as a 'maybe good idea, maybe terrible idea.' Do we want to keep the forum based logs in a similar manner?

Okay, so I modified the default room and made it two default rooms.

RP Room and OOC Chat are both joined automatically when you join the chat. I made it so that the OOC Chat will be the room 'on top' when you first come in so that the RP Room won't get any random "Hi there!"s that should have been posted in the OOC Chat. If you all want to go take a look and make sure it works right and is set up how we want I'd appreciate it!

Edit: Er well, looks like it adds the default rooms in alphabetical order no matter what I do...

So let me know what you all think...just a default OOC Room and we'll add the RP Room when we get there, or both and trust everyone to post their hellos in the OOC Room?

I don't know if this is an artifact of my browser not accepting the new setup for the chat, but I don't see an 'RP Room'.

On the other hand, no matter how many times I load the chat, I do see "My Room" and "OOC Room" loaded at the same time, with the default active tab being "OOC Room" - so while the tabs are loaded in alphabetical order, OOC is active, at least for me.

When I log in, I see both RP Room and OOC Chat, and OOC Chat is active -- so it works perfectly for me even if it's alphabetical. How about other people? Who else is having problems/how's it working for everyone else?

StarFyre - Did you have to re-enter your nickname when you reloaded the chat? If not, you're not seeing the new version...it should have asked you to put in your nick again and then put you into OOC Chat and RP Room...

Edit: Also, StarFyre...I'm not seeing that you've logged into the chat at all recently so I think maybe your computer/browser is stuck using the old version that doesn't exist anymore...

Okay...updates to the chat made:

1. Censor removed: You all may cuss to your hearts' content!

2. Noflood has been booted: JKat may post her storybits as fast as her fingers can paste them without fear of being booted!

3. Timeout period lengthened: Hopefully this means people with slower browsers and/or connections won't be booted quite so frequently!

Let me know if there are any other tweaks anyone thinks we need!
