Falas Weyr - Adult Images & Site Make-over (again...:P)

Well it's official, I'm ready when ever clutch 10 grows to Weyrlings to the point that all I have to do is add their pictures to the pages

*headdesk* I haven't sent those out yet...urg...I'll try to remember to get stuff out tomarrow. I am soooooooooooooooooooooo sorry, guys. RL and guy stuff, and Treval stuff, is not helping. Falas was put on a back burner since I 'switched' focus to the FGPC (technically, I know it dosn't seem that way but yeah...)

Always feel free to whack me on the head to remind me I forgot to update a clutch.

I don't mind.

It's alright, I was just finishing up Tr'zin's Weyrling story so I could aviod studing for finals next week... plus he was just dancing around in my head asking what his and Toyozath's side of the story was with what happens to F'linro and Matsuath... really should show that one to Shard too since she agreed to have Z'rut accidently cause the accident that happens.

*prods* Not complaining, just prodding since I am only in the first week of the new semester here and could easily get the hatchlings up... that and I haven't posted since just before finals week little over a month ago

And you said always feel free to wack you to remind you to update a clutch... I thought I'd just be nice and prod instead of wacking... could hurt if I wacked a person just to see if there will be an update soon... then the hatchlings might never grow into Weyrlings, much less adults

Okay, Clutches 10 & 11 are now adults. clutch 10 has weyrling and adult because I'm so horribly late. Cluch 11 only has hatchling and adult anyway.

Also, just a question, would anyone be upset if I didn't give out Weyrling images for Falas/Pernese dragons? I can if you want one but none of my Alskyrian/Icarian places will be having weyrling and the Ortari at Treval are the only ones getting yearling images because I didn't want a 'surprise, your dragon can use these powers and they are now adult' type take on things. Everything else only has two images. Just food for thought.

Oh, and I posted the link to the Alskyrian wolf info because it has the TP charts I use for all the Alskyrian creatures. At least mine. You're free to use it and if their is anything you suggest I change, go for it. Flits are generally 0-1 for TP, dragons 6-9, wolves are all over the chart, Sea Dragons are low, like around 2-5, and gryphons I haven't decided, ecept those with 'mind' magic which are usally around the 9-10 range. *shrug* It can give you an idea of what their limits are.

Well I don't mind there only be two stages for the Pernese dragons however I do like the idea of knowing their early life, their training life and their adult life with pictures so I'd go for either though I like the the added prodding of having three stages so you might get to know dragon and rider better.

And speaking of which, Tr'zin and F'linro's weyrling pages are up I'll get the adults up on pages when I get the full idea of their story. Right now too tired, however the pictures are uploaded to my site already.

What about the size of the Alskyran dragons? There's nothing listed.

Whoops! I'll fix the link now. Sorry. Forgot Alair wasn't up at the new location yet. >.< [fixed but with no images for table and such]

And I forgot the sizes, too. I'll have to figure those out later because I haven't done them...or if I have, I lost the paper with the percents thingys I need to do the length/height ratios *blink* I'll hunt down the adult image and redo that ('cause I'm sure I did them....)

Heh...true, Dray. I just find me self so busy that I forget and one less thing for me to leave out it fine. I'll keep, probably. And if I ever get enough inspiration I want to draw mid-stage images for the others, too. My muse just likes to abandon me quite often these days.

Excellent! I'll have the Alskyrian adults up as soon as I can. And, for what it's worth Yakima, I really like having weyrling images. But, if it's easier for you not to have them, well, I guess it's your call. Thanks for the wonderful dragons

Okay, I am letting you know that Falas Weyr will be arriving back online soon. I'm tired of waiting so I'm just going with what I have. I don't know how much info you want but if their is something you find useful and want me to get done asap, let me know. No, Falas is not updated yet so if you go to check, nothing will be their. Finishing up rules and stuff yet.

My next clutch is going to be white Syobeth, not Nyhseth, the Sr. Queen. For a few reasons. One, the Nexus is slow so I don't want a big clutch right away. Two, I really want Mixuith and Syo to have a 'normal' clutch that isn't altered for once. lol

After Syobeth it will be Akyth, then Nysheth, Flynnth, Annuath and Prebeth's first clutch. Then the Tribute Clutch for clutch 17. Flynnth has something up her wing-sail though (*cough*SportFrenzy*cough*) so I'll need a few more participants for that. [if you have a sport or two, you can post them here. Form is in the Flights/Frenzies). I'll also need a few Pernese for the Tribute Clutch (though it's going to be MUCh smaller then the End of Pass Clutch...like 1/3 of that but same rules...anything goes for color.

FGPC is hopping on that band wagon.)

So, this is just a heads up for anyone who wants to start writing candidates. Two white, yes. But the genetics will determine the outcome.

Syo is a true sport after all.

As I mentioned before, Falas was going to reopen...well, I have a small clutch on the sands. (I will be cutting back on even queen clutches after this, too...since people are busy/demand for Pern isn't as high. lol)

So, Falas Weyr, minus some missing info, is open! White Syobeth (sport) and white Mixuith (bronze sized) have a clutch on the sands - six eggs.

Now, I need to revamp the rules to say this but here is the deal.

If you want in on the clutch but want a dragon, you may do what I call 'Filler Candidates' which are replacing, in a way, me throwing in NPC's all the time. Of course, this means if I get the number of candidates I want but they're 'Traditional Candidates' (has Search Story), and I decide they will all Impress, your filler will have to wait. I see them coming into play for larger clutches, mostly.

Another thing, I am binding myself to the Genetic Code still. However, I'm going to keep things more like the past. I will not predetermine the clutch - however, what hatches will vary depending on the Candidates (as in the past) but limited to what the parents will allow. So, take out the codes I follow, you still have your good-old-fashion clutch. If I don't /want/ a certain color to hatch (like gold), then no gold. The tricky part will be bronze and browns/blues. A gold-bronze pairing can result in no bronzes and all brown and blue despite their 'color rank'. Likewise, a brown x whatever color can result in no browns depending on the female's B/b genetics.

Still, I will only hatch what I can depending on the genetics.

New, improved but still the same stingy, traditional Pernese Weyr I miss. And yes, I am winding down on mentioning Philippe all the time. I'm sure you're all sick of it. *facepalm* He is coming back...different and more mature but he will come back...I'm just not going to wait for him anymore. *glares at him* Besides, I can torture Tabyen longer this way. *snerk*

Except the part where I can't make the color options list...I have to put them next to each other otherwise they'll do what the 'no preference' boxes do (that was done on purpose because it was too long). So yeah, if anyone knows how to fix that, I would be very, very happy. *grin*

Two questions!

First, since it sounds like Dark Moon may be a while until it's up again, can I just send the written Candie and one filler I made for it to Falas instead? Hopefully, without re-writing the story of the one that has one?

Two, what do you consider a filler Candidate? When I last read what I thought you meant I took it to mean a "Filler Candidate" was like a layover Candidate you could pile on over the maximum allowed Candidates for a clutch. Like, if I'm allowed one, the second one I wrote would be the filler? Or is it like, a stats sheet? Because trust me, if you don't mind stats-only Candidates, then plenty of them you may have from me.

I just wanted to ask because I got the impression from you that you don't like stats-only Candidates, and wanted to clarify. If you don't like them/don't want them I won't send any, but it does sort of limit how many I can give any any time, since my schedule's been busy and it takes me forever to write stories.

If you would rather do that, then yes, you may move them. I'm sorry about Dark Moon. I'm debating weather the FGPC or DMW will be the next one I get back up and running. Possibly DMW as it operates - or will operate - like Falas does.

Filler can be stat-candidates /BUT/ they are my last resort in a clutch. If I have a clutch of six dragonets and only 4 'traditional' candidates (meaning those that have a search story), I will either dud the last two eggs or have a filler candidate Impress one or two of the remaining dragonets. It is simular to my NPC's I would have Impress before that (though I may ocassionally keep a dragonet for myself, too). I would prefer people to write stories however they can be sent in as 'oh my god I want in on this clutch but don't have time to write a candidate' type candidates, too. HOWEVER...Filler Candidates are only able to impress blues and greens. At any time one can take a filler candidate and turn it into a traditional candidate by adding a story. You just need to notify me.

Sounds good to me.

Don't sweat it about moving the Candidates, I'm sure DMW will eventually reopen and when it does I'll make some new ones for it. I just happen to have limited time right now (not to mention deciding on a new host before I make new Candidates at all!), so it's the easier option for getting in on this clutch.

Just checking was all! I think I'd probably never send in a stats-only Candidate for anything other than a green or blue anyway (unless the people who I was sending them in to didn't care but I try not to).

For some reason your menu slides almost entirely out of view when I click on Hatching Sands... It used to be at the right height, and then it moved down to the middle area, and now it's too low to actually click on anything! Waaah! I could click on it last night!

Well, that was weird. I think I fixed it, Shard...tell me if it's still not working...

EDIT: What the....grr...it works in Firefox now, but not IE...that dosen't make ANY sense! It's a simple code...*growls* I don't have time to bother with it right now...most of you use Firefox anyway so whatever...I have NO idea whatelse to change in the code. I've used it for years - same layout - and suddenly I can only get one or the other to work...*sigh*

At least FF is fixed, I guess../

EDIT 2: okay, nm...had to revert back to using <br> rather then a spacer image....*sigh*

I'm glad to see Falas is up and running again, Yakima

It's been a long time since I got involved in any clutches on the forum, but I definitely want in on this one. I'm going to try to get a "Traditional Candidate" in to you soon, I miss writing search stories ><

But, is there a deadline for sending in candidates? Like a lot of other people, I had all of my previous sites on Geocities, and since that was shut down, I have to create a new account somewhere...it might take a few days for me to find a good one.

As of yet, no, their isn't a deadline. (currently trying to get Dark Moon back up, too).

I may put a deadline on it in a few months or something if it's still there. I probably won't start putting deadlines on things until I have a good list of Filler Candidates to fall back on. *nods*

I've sent a total of 6 fillers to DMW and Falas.

They can be shuffled around, no problem, and shifted to further clutches if necessary. They have no story but do have my stats from the generator so there is a bit of background anyway.

Though, I need to do a separate text document thing for DMW...I'm using the template for Falas Weyr so Dark Moon Candidates keep popping up at 'Falas Weyr Candidate from so-and-so'... >.< I can tell which one is which because of the comment codes (the you read the rules passwords).

I'm just finishing up some details for the records so...yeah...then I need to get all my riders updated.

Could you make sure that the riders/pages from dark moon and falas on the flights are linked right? They're not showing up - the chasers anyway. It's always a bit frustrating knowing that they're actually there but probably the link is just a little messed up. I know I'm having issues with some of my pages, because they almost always wind up linking to a geocities page ... grr. I know that my OLD version of Dreamweaver had a "global update" feature which could search and replace pretty much everything needed, but the version I have now just doesn't, or if it does I haven't ever found it. MEH!

I'll just realized I had J'ren's Ainnth linked wrong, though *faceplant* I think the Geocities issue might be why some of them are not linked for Flynnth's Frenzy thing (except Jkat's submition...I'm not sure if I want to deal with Alskyrian-bred ones.
