Permenet Closing - Something...

Post by Yakima »

I need to know what out of the following people are defiently interested in still. Falas and the FGPC are staying open no matter what. If you're interested in more then one please state your other one(s) here...I need to close something. LSI will stay up for the wolves, at the very least, or they'll get they're own site compeltley if no one is interested in LSI anymore. Treval needs to stay for characters but if no one really wants the dragons then I'll take that down. Something needs to get off my list!

Personally I like all your dragons and draks, though I never really got into alskyr. I do want the wolves to stay; I'm working on the story for my pack (at least, the pack I'm going to start, anyway).

I only found out about Icarus recently, and it seems (at least, to me) that it's not doing much. But I love the two draks I got from your giveaway, and they are important characters in a story line I'm working on.

I voted for Treval because I really like the dragons you're putting out from there, and I want to try to get more! (You do have my candidate for there, right? I think her name was Katrina; if not, let me know and I'll resend her)

*wishes she could revote because she put Baskar thinking the question was in referse...why can't there be an option to view the results without having to vote in your own poll* *sighs*

If LSI went down, I would keep the site up but take down all the clutchs and such, keeping the records. The wolves are NOT going anywhere...they're really the only original thing I can call my idea (an infectious idea considering how much people do like/use them). Baskar would be simular but a heck of a lot simpler in layout with just the records from the last clutch, probably.

I want Treval to stay. It's more interesting and more up my alley interms of magic and ideas (related to Rerir but a Rerir that's in the nexus).

If no one votes for LSI and I close it, the wolves will stay. I promise!

I voted for Treavel because it's what you want to keep the most. If you're not enjoying what you're doing, then there's no point in doing it. Personally, I can't pick just one. I love all your dragons and your stories.

Personally, I love the wolves and would hate to loose them... Any chance that if Alskyr did close down you'd keep running them?

Otherwise, to be honest, I don't write enough candidate stories (haven't written any for months) to justify voting.

I voted for Treval as well, because you seem the most interested in it.

I was wondering though. If you close one place, what are you going to do with the images/characters? I love the fact that your characters are so in depth and the images.. ^^ well, i don't have to say anything there.

Would you just close it? Kill them up? Suspend it for a while or...?

I's still like to get some dragons from Treval, but I voted for Baskar. Even if you do shut it down, would you consider leaving the click'n'take pets up? *Luffs the vulpans*
Darkling Dawn: Fauna Frenzy Open to candidates; flights open to males/females; rukel eggs/breedings available.
Drockh-Tallahn Castle: 3 eggs, 2 available. Females and males needed.
Sgiath Wolfkeep: 7 pups available
Sedona Weyr: 12 eggs, Deadline March 8. Chasers and a female needed.

Nooo...LSI cannot close. I lurve the images, and I like sending my Alskyrian characters to on-world places to bond and those are slowly dwindling in number. :?

If running clutches is holding you down, why don't you consider running things like the Alskryian or Baskar clutches like you do your wolves: making up personalities and parents and giving them out by request? That way you're not trying to color 30 @ once.

I agree with Caesius. I prefer to see *something* of variety - you don't have to run everything at once. Maybe shift between the sites.

Plus: please don't remove the sites. Chasing down pages is hard, even if you choose to shut something down, please just leave it up with a permanent-hiatus statement?

I'm gonna agree with the whole 'you don't need to run everything at once' thing.

I know many people - myself included - who do run several adoption agencies and adopt out many kinds of creatures, but to save sanity we just cycle through the different types and deal with one at a time. At the moment, I happen to be Samanayr-centric. Soon I'll be focusing on Enkeyn, then maybe something else.. It lets you have variety, but also sanity!

I think it's actually the lack of receiving candidates for the clutches she runs. Yakima usually has clutches, just like many other places, not enough candidates for them.

I've experienced the same sort of candidate drought at Tripaldi...the problem is that we all get busy all at once and then no one writes candidates. We ALWAYS have some sort of frenzy or event going on that sucks up all the candidates that do get written and the 'normal' clutches don't get any attention...

And sometimes if there are too many frenzies going on at once some of them get ignored...my Avian Frenzy has been open for ages now but I'm no where close to having enough candidates to put out another bonding.

So, really, Yakima, the question isn't really what we want, because let's face it, we don't want you to close anything! The question is, what are /you/ willing to keep open in hopes that you might get some candidates? Or better yet, how can you restructure everything to make things easier on yourself. And I think if we all went to something like Dray's system of minimal waiting it might be easier to get candidates. We all usually get a flood of candidates as a deadline is coming up because then people know they won't have to wait ages to get their dragon! And look at the flood of candidates that have gone into Dray's school! We know we'll get an awesome dragon without waiting, if we knew we wouldn't have to wait ages for awesome dragons elsewhere we might get off our butts and start writing again!

I'd have to agree with that. It's nice to send in a Candidate and get a dragon quickly, rather than waiting for ages. I know from my own experience (as being the new person who just can't wait to get dragons for these Candidates that I'm writing) that it's rather more satisfying to get a dragon quicker rather than waiting ages.

I suppose the issue with that is that all these clutches are out there, and I want to send Candidates to them, but because they're not filling up very quickly, I end up thinking that I'd rather send my Candidates somewhere they'll be able to bond quicker.

Personally, Yakima, I love all your images, so I couldn't really say which of your agencies you should close down; I'd like to have dragons from all of them...

I don't want to close anything but Baskar has kinda lost my interest.

What I've been thinking is that, if anything, riders from the Caer could come to Falas but I'm not sure if I even like that idea. The problem with leaving everything up and running clutches like suggested is I still have 5+ sites to manage and not enough time. The sites I can actually handel better then the riders I have with each. I have NPC's that I'm trying to get on stat pages so that when your candidates/bonders come they'll know what the personality is like and what they look like rather then having them all look different. That's the problem I found with the first Falas search riders - personalities switched and I didn't really like that. What makes this such a headache is all the different browsers out there and IE allows so much more and Firefox murders my pages so I have to redo them but I can't code it right so that IE can use the linked script and FF use the scripts I have to put on the page (which I didn't like doing). Worse comes to worse, all you people using FF will have to deal with it because changing all my pages is not something I'm willing to do considering how often I change the site looks...

As for the 'it's not what you want it's what I want' I have to disagree. You're the ones getting the dragons, not me. I want to keep them all but I am getting too stressed with everything going on. If people don't want a type of dragon anymore then why should I keep it open for clutches (records would stay up Shard...I know better). If the Caer closed, I would occasionally have Alskyrian dragons clutch at the FGPC or Treval. If Baskar Closed, same thing (but on Treval more likley).

*Decides that Novemeber will be her 'vacation' from the Nexus stuff so she can write the first part of her Rerir books* Yes, I'm disappearing during that time - not candidates, no updates, nothing. I need a sharding break! (and a clean room...failed that one again last night...hee)

And don't vote for Treval because I said I liked it! *playfully slaps Naeodin and Mystic* That completley defeates the purpose of a poll!

Kiara, the wolves are not going anywhere...I already said that...

I voted for Treval because, well, I like it the best :P Treval is a lot more open ended than Alskyr or Icarus and I just like that better. Gives more room for various candidates and plotting. Sorry you're having to close things, though. Even so, I do admire you -- I can't even keep one agency open much less five

I think I'm going to do this - focus on Treval, Falas and the FGPC and if people want something from the other two they're going to have to bug me for a new clutch. They won't be getting clutches unless there is enough interest. Sound fair enough (to you and me?)

I think that sounds fair...and a good idea...that way you don't get overburdened and we can still get all your pretty dragons if we harass you enough... :)

D'oh. I see that now. Sorry, blame Uni... I don't have time to read thing thoroughly when I nip on in the mornings, and often just skim thinks in the afternoons/evenings because I want bed... lol. Anyways, wolves staying, GOOD... :)

Are you letting ppl adopt them right now? or are they on temporary-Hiatus?

Yes, they're still open. Not sure how long ago I updated but all my sites are off haitus even if they say they are...since all are getting a makeover like the FGPC did (which I hope is easier and neater looking...), i haven't updated and it might be a while considering the makeovers...but yes, it's open!
