Email spam check your ancient accounts

I don't know how many others have gotten the spam/scammy emails from Jess's name, but they're addressed to a lot of our old emails. I've contacted her on facebook about it, (her last name's changed, but she's definitely still around - Kat's a mutual friend on her list and mine) so hopefully it won't be terrible for her or anyone else.

I'm not sure where the problem has originated, but the first email was addressed to Shard, with my *current* email (which is NOT the protectorate) and actually used Shard in the greeting, so whatever this is it's a very sophisticated code. It MIGHT be something from one of the Geocities 'rescue' services, which are still operating, but might have web bots crawling for emails. The collection of contacts reads like the Nexus 10 years ago and includes the winter gather yahoo address. Any old yahoos anyone has from me that's NOT the protectorate are long since disabled by yahoo itself, so I suspect a web crawler has gotten a hold of someone's 'links' page.
