Wing List Format Experiment

Post by Yakima »

So, need opinions here (to anyone still lurking...hehee)

Redesigning Falas' Wing pages (actually, redesigning Falas...again...sorta...) and want to see what people think of some designs. I wanted to try something new (bye bye tables!) so here's my attempt. I took out a lot of information so if you feel something is left out somewhere let me know.

Current Design
This is what the wings currently looks like; the traditional table format I've been using.
Image

Redesign One
This one has more information but the issue of long names is something I've already noticed so I tried another version.
Image

Redesign Two
This is a super simple version with just name and dragon. I probably should put gender in there, too...
Image
Gender and size are, I feel, the most important but that's just me.

Critiques? Should I add, delete, change things? I like the dragon as the background (even if I have no idea just how to do it yet), but it looked better than the icons I have been using. :P

I still like my tables, but then again, I'm a bit more, uh... traditional? Lazy? Information Overload? Whichever.

Anyway, the third one is rather nice, especially with the faded out larger image in the background. (Which is my main grump about using tables. All those thumbnails that need to be generated!) Though I do feel that adding gender at the least would be good -- size I think could be taken or left, up to you. With those images in the background you don't really need to denote species, because a look is all you really need to at least guess what a dragon is.
