Lurk, lurk.

Post by SilverMidnight »

Hey guys,

I thought I'd drop in and say hi. Admittedly, I'm thinking about doing giveaways and such around class assignments. Would anyone be interested, if I decided to do so? :)

I talked to Yakima about an idea or two! I'm going to do some giveaways/easy stories, maybe. I'm usually pretty busy, though - which isn't necessarily too bad at this time during the semester. Finally ended up going back to school for art; and I need art to do other than for class/a commission I'm somewhat behind on.

So, if I did giveaways, what would people like to see?

I discussed with Yakima some of my old species, and perhaps a redo of some of the wraith dragons like Kaisukieth.

Well, I have a character or two that were done specifically for themes that RoF had been doing (not sure if it was even here on this forum? I think so, early on?) such as 'change of season/winter' and 'fallen from grace' and the like. It was a writing challenge, certain word count, theme, etc. No idea what the dragons were going to be about though.

http://droppin-the-fork.com/dragonsites ... /jidox.htm

Kind of like Trek who was a 'maximum word count' one that I went overboard with the long words, to get his.

I remember, more or less, what the ice dragons looked like - and one of the parents. Though I'm pretty sure that page is long gone. The sire of the clutch that I was going to do was bonded to... Juinyiir, I think was his bondmate's name. He was the Hathian-blooded Flurry White, and a handsome boy with feathered wings. The mother might've been from Unyko, and was an icy dragoness. I don't remember either dragon's name, unfortunately. :( And I imagine TyGryph is long gone? So I probably can't retrieve the father's image, at least - though I might go and draw him myself. He was quite pretty.

As for the Fallen from Grace, I don't remember what the image was for that. Or if it was the same image or not. I can probably whip something up, though, if people are interested.

Ty's around, though about as lurky as you :)

A lot of the old geocities pages are still around in the form of oocities and reocities, some of the stuff I've dug up for lineages has been there.

Koiri Syaess is the father's name. Luckily, I found the template, even though not him himself, from one of your dragons. I don't remember the mom, though.

Apparently the "Fall to Evil" had to do with bladed wings. That I can take care of, even though artdragon appears to be down. I'll whip something up. I have sketches for the other dragons done, just need to finish the wings and do the inking. These guys have complicated wings.

I'm still here!

I have the sketches, but haven't scanned them yet. Health (?) decided to kick my butt the past weekend, so I've been laying around like a slug. Trying to get evened back out - I'll see if I remember to scan a few tomorrow after printmaking.

Hi Ty! Long time no see. :D And I hope you at least have some good memories of me.

As for me - I have the sketches of the dragons, but RL ate me again. @_@ And I'm going to be busy this summer. Teaching little kids art, and doing an art grant project through the uni, in addition to another job. Hopefully I'll get them done sometime.

Oh, I eventually decided to go back for art after letting my skills stagnate for years. I'm getting a lot better, and it looks like I'll have a relatively decent chance to go pro after I graduate; but it means a lot of hard work. Including marketing myself, and getting my portfolio together with something other than homework. Not to mention, working on digital.

I graduate next Spring, and am probably going to Italy this fall. 0_o I want to work on my skills drawing buildings and perspective, while there. Though I'd still like to work with other things.

Like dragons. :P

If anyone wants to see, this has some more recent stuff from school:

That sounds absolutely amazing. :D I hope you go, that would be a fabulous way to spend an autumn.

Any kinda dragons you're looking to work on? (I'm working with StarFyre, Yakima and JKatkina on attempting to get the Nexus refurbished with a website and some good information flow for anybody else returning or new, but I'm all ears for a new set of dragons!)

Thank you much, Jkat!

And Dray - I'm thinking about doing something more "realistic". I always liked to work on trying to make my dragons plausible, so I'd like to work a little bit with that. Lately I've also been working with the big, scaley dragons; but that has to do with a character I play on a MUSH when I find the time for her. Just because she's a dragon and I like her.

I imagine if I did a new set, should I find the time (I'm notoriously bad on projects outside of school these days), I'd probably want to do something avian, "reptilian", and then mammalian. As far as inspiration.

I quite like the scale style on her, actually. I saw the reference image for her/background on parentage... always a fun bet with what the heck is that, red/gold? I've gotta know what plotline developed that combo!
