LotRO Character Drawing

Completely not Nexus related, but I'm rather proud of it. It's not done and While I'm proud of the girls' poses, i'm not proud of the cloths. I really stink at making cloths look real (though Cynthrya's thingy, which I can't remember what it's called...haukbrak...*blink*, turned out okay). I need to add lines and stuff but i can play with that laters.

But these are the four characters I play in LotRO. From left to right starting from the top: Melannuial of Mirkwood (hunter), Cynthrya of Rohan (champion), Tayalia of Bree-land (lore-master who will have a hawk or raven on her arm eventually...and yes, she's named after my green rider, Tayalia, green Avsiruth's rider), and lastly, my little Kynta, a hobbit of the Fallohides (minstrel...her music is to die for...pun intended. lol)

I'm really starting to like DA's stock photos.

Actually I think the clothing is quite nice! It's simple, but that is fine because clothing doesn't need to be complicated in order to be 'good'. Plus, complicated clothing in a fantasy setting would just get bloody all the faster

and lol is that bard's music to die FOR ... or FROM?

from...actually. lol Though in LotR it's minstrel...but yeah, same thing. She just got a flute (that the elf made her) and it dose more damage then the stupid guitar...er...lute. lol Much easier to whip out in battle then the lute, too.

And yeah, robes are mostly straight down, hanging, which makes it easier. I've been playing. Hands and boots (or in my hobbit's case...feet. lol) just need to be done now. Will I ever ink this...dunno. I tend to ruin things like this when I ink them. lol *contemplates finding her copy of Photoshop again*

Just keep scanning and saving, the pencils are quite nice! Inking can sometimes be a bitch, but if you've got the pencils scanned you can always print it out and start over (print in non-photo blue.

and...done! Well colored. The shading is eluding me...Want more of an 'anime' style shading (more solid then blended) but anything I try just looks weird. Can try later. But it's colored.

I may end up taking creative license to their clothing colors, tho. lol

Yeah I was going to comment earlier, then my net kind of got weak, but they look awesome!

I'd say shading would be better done in a cel-shading format, with hard color areas, rather than a dodge-n-burn technique like I normally use. With wide areas of color like this, you could possibly also just add some texturing to give their outfits a hint of what materials they're made of.

So, i thought I should post an update. I have finished the shading and while I delteted the girl with the eagle (since I deleted her in the game...), i did finish the other three. For my first vector shading, I am pleased.

And, since the game's sense of colors don't always agree with me, there is the colors I wish their outfits could be.

Now, to run around Middle-earth to find a background that works...i think it's going to have to be something with stairs...*must visit Rivendell, i think*

Yeah I have to say, the hair looks very nice, and the color choices on either of them are quite nice! Good work!
