Havce a Candidate that needs a home...

Post by Yakima »

Who has clutches out that are NOT Pernese? I have a Sentran Elf that will need a home - eventually. :P His 'significant other' is going to the OEM but I want to send him somewhere else since he won't fit the requirement for magic-related. :P

I've been thinking about having some more Glenn dragons out there, would you like to "apply" for one? Old school Glenns are more based on content and appearance of page, and mine are elemental-psionic to boot. You can call it magic if you like ;)

I don't know much about Glenn dragons. After I posted this I thought about trying for one of JKat's Asandus for my first time - haven't tried for one of them. I don't know yet. I'll get his story written then go from there but I just want to see what the options are. I should try for a Glenn anyway - I don't have any.

Shouldn't take me too long for the stories. These two are based off a dream I had so the details are pretty easy. :P

Drockh-Tallahn Castle: 3 eggs, 2 available. Females and males needed.

Hahaha, what timing! artdragon is still down... maybe down for the count this time, but Yakima, if you are seriously interested (and I'd be thrilled) in sending a candidate for an asandus, I'll look into getting hosting elsewhere, finally. It's long overdue for me to get new webspace, anyways. XD

Officially, no. I did email you a couple times looong ago asking if I could somehow get him an official Asandus even though Avengaea was ker-dead, and never heard back from you, but I never officially submitted him candidate-wise. :B So, yes, bring back Asandae. XD

Oh man, shame on me. Shame on me big time. *facepalm* I think I even remember those emails. dur.

In any case, now I AM going to start looking for new hosting for Avengaea. XD One candidate, and the possibility of a second, is good enough motivation for me!

LOL, I just might have to since I've never applied for one.

Though I was wondering about the age thing - how did that work again? He is an elf, so very long lived (Sentran elves are not immortal) but yeah...:P

Do you mean the asandus's quickened aging upon bonding, or the lengthening of lifespan afterwards? In either case, here's some copy-and-paste from the website, since artdragon is down!

Aging
The aging process of both the kit and the novo they have bonded is affected by the joining. Since the kits are at such a young age, and most novos are more mature, the Asandus's aging will speed up as soon as they have bonded, slowing down as it reaches an equivalent maturity level to its bond. This may be why, often, kits like younger candidates over older ones, as they 'lose' less of their childhood this way.

Following the point at which the kit has 'caught up' to its bond, both will age at the same rate. This rate is generally an average between the Asandus's normal rate of aging and the candidate's.

For reference, here is the Asandus aging rate, in Nexiian terms:

0-1 Newborn
1-3 Infant
4-10 Toddler
11-20 Child
21-40 Adolescent/Juvenile
Traditionally, Asandae achieve maturity at 40 years of age.
41-60 Young Adult
61-150 Adult
151-250 Mature Adult

Asande usually live to between 250 and 300 years, though it is not uncommon for Asandae who take care of themselves to live to 350 years.

So, basicly, if an Asandus bonded a 26 year old elf (for every 20 years after the age of twenty, Sentran elves age in looks/maturity 1 year, btw) he would just age a bit faster to 'catch up' then age as his bond does? Though, Sentran elves can live for about 2,000 years so...

Just wondering. I need to get this bloody story written first! Grandparents are coming for a week, and my sister is getting married so hopefully you don't hold anything too soon. :P heehee

*also needs to stop building this house these characters are set in...urg* :P

Congrats to your sister! That's cool. My brother's getting married at the end of this summer too.

As for aging, yep, that's right! Except that once the asandus has caught up in age, your elf will age more quickly than he/she otherwise would. It's kind of a trade-off... their lifespans will be averaged together, which it sounds like would be a pretty big sacrifice for your elf character. Asandae live to maximum about 350 years. That means in the best case scenario the pair of them together would live for 1175 years, give or take a few years.

Not really. He fell/falls in love with a mortal girl so yeah. I also have a certain character who has a 'cure' for the elven life-span that, if Renn ever wanted to take, he could shorten it to what it normally should be. The elves of Sentra now have a good history for me to work with. :P Heehee.
