Her name's Evelia, I believe Evelaintenath is her daughter. :) She's permanently mated to a Danachian dragon, unfortunately. If there are no other female Avyndals, though, she may be willing to have a purebred clutch to spread the breed, seeing as there's so few (and Avyndals rock. :3). Or, since cloning is an option, at least donate some eggs?
Darkling Dawn: Fauna Frenzy Open to candidates; flights open to males/females; rukel eggs/breedings available.
Drockh-Tallahn Castle: 3 eggs, 2 available. Females and males needed.
Sgiath Wolfkeep: 7 pups available
Sedona Weyr: 12 eggs, Deadline March 8. Chasers and a female needed.

Dray wrote:Kitsuneko, did you have an Avyndal female? I remember a purple one... Something like Evelaintenath or something? I may be getting the name wrong, but she had a purple body and sunset wings, if I recall correctly. Would you be interested in lending her for a pureblood clutch of Avyndals?

And as for cloning... that's awesome. XD So long as the owners of the species don't object (if they're even still around the Nexus!) then go for it!
I have an Avyndal male, I think...*tries to find*

Ah, I think it's Athal (if Fantasian Spirit Dragon is the same as an Avyndal). >.<

Fantasan Spirit Dragons are indeed the same! It's the same as how Kat renamed her Avengaean Fire Dragons 'Piralan Asandae'... they just got proper names instead of the more generic ones.

Maybe I could resurrect the 'Kalyturn's Hybridizing Center' for a clutch of ironically purebreed Avyndal? I know that Sil also had some Legend and Water dragons but aside from the ones that I got, I don't know if there are any others in existence. :c Too bad it's impossible to get ahold of her anymore. Moar wilds are needed!

Didn't want this getting lost in the edit shuffle, but I found breed information for the Enkeyn if anyone has one hidden. I have my Ananasalair listed. =)

I have a forest/tundra Enkeyn mix. It's technically pureblood Enkeyn, however the crossbreed might affect what you're going for, Aireona. Would you like me to submit him, anyways?

Yeah, Dray! That would be cool. I never got to have a Enkeyn, so it would be sweet to be able to breed a few. They are so cute.

Those Avyndals are... amazing. Though I am becoming a bit confused (not surprising, hehehe). Are you doing a clutch with them, Dray? Or am I? Cause I want to, but I don't know how many times those two would want to have babies. XP

Also, I am working on the Darkelf template. This is such a cool design, and I never even knew they existed! This is so fun!

Go for it! If you weren't going to do 'em, though, I would love to. More Avyndals, man!

I haven't transferred my Enkeyn over to my new site, yet, and artdragon is inconveniently down. Once it's up again I'll pass him over!

Oh, especially if you've had to re-create years of pages because of fickle webhosting and fickle hard drives, being an oldbie isn't all it's cracked up to be. Unless you're Shard. In which case, you get cool perks like rocking chairs with rocket launchers and quasi-sentient flamingo dragons. Everyone loves flamingos. XD

I think I'm gonna upload a pile of dragons and see which ones find opposite-gendered counterparts. =)
.... HAHAHAHAHAH! I missed this yesterday. :) heeeeeeehehehehe.

And if it's a Spirit dragon we're needing, I have one! :D He's been waiting for a mate (even though I've got that furry festival ... ooooon hold because sites are fail) and looking for just the right one.

Ah, one of the old templates! 8D I love that one! How come all of the surviving Avyndal are males? XD What an odd thing to see. Man, with four potential Avyndal, though, you could probably make enough offspring so that they wouldn't get inbred for another generation!

YAY! More dragons!! Thank you, again, everyone! I love having so many options!!!

Quick question for everyone, and especially Starfyre. Do you have any idea what the size of the Darkelf dragons were? I have been looking through the old website, but I have yet to find anything on their size yet.

I don't think she ever gave them a size - it was never important. I'd just slap them up as Medium-sized, I think, or maybe Medium-Large based on the 'impressiveness' of the template. Unno.

I have a Terramanian (a male) as well, one of the highest level, along with all the info for them somewhere on this computer, if anyone wants either.

Thanks! And I'd love whatever you have for the Terramanians; info and your male, if you wouldn't mind.

Also, I assume that you want one of the Darkelf babies, Starfyre? If I am right, would you mind sending me a bonder/caretaker URL? Or even just an image of the environemt that you would like your dragon's type to be based on- I am thinking for my clutch this can be an image (photo, whatever) that alludes to the actual place where the dragon lives (like a picture of a castle, or a forest), or it can be the theme of the bonder/caretaker's page. Your choice. ^ ^ Cause I am going to try and stay as true to the original species as possible, and as far as I can tell, their coloration and type have more to do with their "environment" than their parents. Let me know if I am wrong.

sherra wrote:The Topic: As mentioned above, Earth is the topic for this clutch. This will be set in modern-day earth, much of it taking place in an imaginary state of Calienta which is pretty much Florida but with a different name and layout (I don't feel like chosing a real spot for this to take place since I haven't actually ever been to Florida...).

Your characters can either be there and run into the Cy contingient as they run amuck or get searched regular-style off of the rest of the world. (note: Those in Calienta will have human-formed dragons. Those elsewhere will have normal dragons.). Find a Cy knight to search you here!

The Dragons: The dragons hatching from this clutch will be elemental dragons, blessed by the Dragon Goddess of Dracania. There are seven different colors, each with different elemental magics and personalities.

Ice: Light blue. Ices are cold and calculating, prefering to be alone over large groups.
Water: Blue. Waters are cool and calm, a stabilizing force in all situations.
Fire: Red/orange. Fires are hot-tempered but will never back down from a challenge.
Earth: Brown. Earths are solid and dependable, always there when you need them.
Electricity: Yellow. Electricities are fast-paced and love excitement.
Plant: Green. Plants are kind-hearted and gentle, the nurturing type.
Air: Light brown. Airs are whimsical, the dreamers.

They are not ranked by type, they are ranked by form. There are four forms of elemental dragon:

Lesser
Middle
Greater
Greatest

The lesser is the smallest and the greatest is huge. There will only be one greatest of each color, if that. They get progressively more fancy as the ranking goes up. Also, some of them can shift into human form. The greatests can go fully human, the greater partially human (retaining wings), and the middle can turn into humanoid versions of themselves.
That's from the original clutch description. The templates that she showed us were these: Lesser Middle Greater Greatest

And Retsu Noi is this cute boi: http://www.silveredmagic.com/candis/ima ... sherra.gif He's a Greatest Ice.

And yes, I would love one of the babies from the clutch -- I'll get someone to you as soon as I have a moment of breather space (7 hour drive today, blaaar, I'm d-e-d). The environment of the webpage was totally the deciding factor in the dragon way back when - totally a reward for all those bad pages with garish backgrounds!

Also, with the exception of the two Darkelf (they're a mated pair), feel free to mix and match any of the ones I linked with ones that other people link.
Is there information about how intelligent they are, and whether they can communicate with telepathy or speech? And how big they are?

I was looking through the pages, and it seemed to me that most people were having them speak verbally. So, they are sentient from what I understand.

If anyone thinks otherwise, let me know! I am new to these guys. ^ ^

Reocities archived quite a bit of the original site, if you want to attempt browsing parent pages for some clues. Most just list the very basic stats with the caretaker story though.

http://www.reocities.com/darkelf1245/

I think most of the standard "dragony" abilities were assumed for the ultra-inclusive adoption sites (like Darkelf, ODA, Xian, Empire Featherdragons), namely verbal speech and maybe fire breath or elemental based magic, depending on the "power"/rarity of the coloration. I don't think it was really brought up most of the time though. =\

I definitely referenced that site alot while making them, thanks so much for the link Keilin! It was super helpful. As far as abilities went, I couldn't find anything on the parent's pages about them, but for verbal speech. Alot of the links didn't work for me though... so if anyone can dig up anything more about their abilities that would be sweet. Too bad we lost so much info with geocities dying. >.>

Okay good. Yeah I found the reocities site, it was moderately helpful but I don't think there was much desire on the part of the owners to list stuff like sizes :)

I know they could learn magic - Daiheln is a member of Clan Korumeru, which was a dark magic clan that, if I recall correctly, practiced both ritual and 'off the cuff' magic (at the very least, he has a ritual knife and magic orb from joining the clan).

So, I think my next clutch will be the Avyndals.
If it is ok with the owners, I am leaning towards Evelia and Arbitor. Let me know if there are any problems with that.

Also, before I jump into this, does anyone have any info on this species? I came in after they were available, I think... either that or I was just completely out of it... but either way, I know nothing about them except that they are awesome.

That first original clutch of Avyndal don't seem to fit the information attached to later releases, but as memory (and my own Avyndal and some others I know) serve...

The Avyndal aka Fantasian Spirit Dragons are all immortal, verbal speakers, and can shapeshift into human forms that retain some of their draconic traits (like the horns and tail).

I find them displaying healing magic, non-elemental magic, holy magic, and other things.

Modern Avyndal are named in a pattern of (child's name) ve (mother's surname) of the line of (father's surname), shortened to (child's name) (father's name) if needed.

They seem to fall in the 10-15' shoulder height range.

It may also be worth noting that they don't have hair -- those are fleshy tendrils on their heads. The male mane extends down the back, the female is limited to the neck. Females also have shorter horns.

I had no idea they could shapeshift, actually. Had I known that when I got my two early on, I would certainly have said something about it on my pages. Odd. Perhaps that was something with the newer art that got changed? Because I really don't remember knowing that.

Hence my stating, "That first original clutch of Avyndal don't seem to fit the information attached to later releases."

I myself inherited an original that doesn't jive with the new info (Karivoi up there). I didn't add the new info to his page since he didn't come with it.

But in "modern times", when Sil was around I received many a gift from her with info to match, and Gayle/Cacopheny did too, and that's what I'm working from. :)
