I'm excited for the Avyndal clutch. I know that Sil didn't want them to be as common as Greens but I think that having a clutch or two would be fabulous. X3

I myself inherited an original that doesn't jive with the new info (Karivoi up there). I didn't add the new info to his page since he didn't come with it.

But in "modern times", when Sil was around I received many a gift from her with info to match, and Gayle/Cacopheny did too, and that's what I'm working from.

Cool. >_> Though it would have been awesome to have Iris's Mystalia be a shifter, because... well, you know. Lucas and his Aven and ... yeah.

So, I think my next clutch will be the Avyndals.
If it is ok with the owners, I am leaning towards Evelia and Arbitor. Let me know if there are any problems with that.

Also, before I jump into this, does anyone have any info on this species? I came in after they were available, I think... either that or I was just completely out of it... but either way, I know nothing about them except that they are awesome.

That first original clutch of Avyndal don't seem to fit the information attached to later releases, but as memory (and my own Avyndal and some others I know) serve...

The Avyndal aka Fantasian Spirit Dragons are all immortal, verbal speakers, and can shapeshift into human forms that retain some of their draconic traits (like the horns and tail).

I find them displaying healing magic, non-elemental magic, holy magic, and other things.

Modern Avyndal are named in a pattern of (child's name) ve (mother's surname) of the line of (father's surname), shortened to (child's name) (father's name) if needed.

They seem to fall in the 10-15' shoulder height range.

It may also be worth noting that they don't have hair -- those are fleshy tendrils on their heads. The male mane extends down the back, the female is limited to the neck. Females also have shorter horns.

I guess I need to go change Athal's page a bit. Sil never gave me a name so I made one up and didn't know they had info. lol [Note...Yakima always loves to get info with her dragons so she dosn't have to guess and later find she was wrong. heehee]

Their horn colourations went gold-silver-black, with black being most rare and gold being most common. The colour of their eyes had something to do with which wavelengths they could see (Adrigie can only see things in green, I think?)

There aren't many Asana dragons out there yet, but if you wanted to use them you're totally welcome! I would love to see someone else's interpretation of them.

...I should really be making a few characters to up the number of breeding Asana out there. >__> I'm thinking I'll make your birthday-gift Asana a male because the one you have from the wild clutch is a female. Everyone loves a pair.

Actually, Starburst, I have an image drawn up for my first girl- I just need to figure out how I am going to handle all that rainbow so that I can color her. Lol. So, you'll get to see my interpretation of your species pretty soon! Would definitely be nice to have a male though! Cute little baby Asana all over the place.

And thanks Dray, and Starfyre- I'll probably be cloning/mating some of your dragons soon. I just need to figure out where to start. It has been so long!

Super cool! I used the gradient tool for mine but you'll probably just have to go with lots of blending and lots of patience. XD Cannot wait to see it though, I love how you draw your own pictures of your adopted dragons.

(edit: Also, if you were wanting to draw her tattoo onto the image you're colouring, let me know which one you want and I can send over an early tattooed adult image for you.)

As for the Il'arta... I think there might have been a giveaway thread when Yakima had those awesome Xmas giveaways a couple of years ago... damn, it looks like she's only given out female ones, from what I can find from the search! O_o She's active on the Nexus right now... perhaps tossing a PM her way is in order?

I classified their species type based on maturity rate, heat cycle length and clutch size. I then used php to bring in that information and start from their birth year, add their maturity rate per species type and then cycle per heat cycle length. It's a bit random if heat cycles vary (ie. every 5-6 years) but it's a starting point. You can see more detailed versions of what I'm working on through my alternate template which brings in year, clutch size/duds, and prospective mates.

I'm likely going to have to create another database with clutchIDs to lock that down properly while maintaining variation in heat cycle duration.

I can create a thread about it if you want to learn mysql/php but I warn you it takes a LOT of effort. I started setting this up in... 2009 and I'm not through all my data (hence why some pages don't have personalities up yet or it says image lost when they have a thumbnail).

Oh man, you guys are like conspiring to draw me back into the Nexus. I, I reaaallly liked these clutches, Aire. Just so you know, if you ever have a purebreed that needs a mate let me know and I'll look through my stock, it's always a treat to send someone off to breed and get their babies drawn by you!
