After doing this, especially the list of islands...I feel very lonely here. LOL *clings to Shard* DON'T LEAVE ME! LOL

Anyway...*coughs innocently* I put this together since the original site was devoured by geocities. I know, I could have used the original set up...but...yeah...this looks kind of cool. (Though I might have to do something with the white text on black...not easy for me to read...of course, I don't have contacts in or glasses sooooooo....) Anyway, this is EVERYTHING (plus a few additions/changes from me...) from the old site.

If their is anything that people want added, please let me know. Or updated/changed, for that matter. Well, if you want me to keep it up, that is.

If anything, go see it for the globe I made and the map of Alskyr I spent hours fussing over (and the fussing was just to change the colors a bit....lol) XD

Wow.. y'know, it kinda is sad that we've mostly abandoned the community genned worlds.

Maybe later this year (like this summer or sommat), we should do a revival or something? Unno.

.. What do Alskyr dragons look like anyway? ^^;; I don't think I have any.

Paniya's not really dead, on hiatus mostly. Since I moved stuff "officially" off pern and onto Alskyr, Alabaster and Dawnlight and the other places other than specific offworld places (healing den, planet twenty, icarus) all my dragon stuff generally takes place or has ties there. Of course I don't have any of my alskyran normal dragons linked properly on the site. Plenty of gryphons, though,

I think the main difference is generally Alskyran dragons have horns, are smaller than Pernese, and come in more colors.

lol...actually, I think the info from the site has them around the same size as pernese dragons...

Dragons range in size from 30 to 50 feet long, and their size is not color specific.

Though, I'm sure that was back when people were all using meters for the Pernese or something like that. But yeah, I consider them pernese dragons with horns and higher intelligence. lol

And, yeah, Shard, I have Paniya on Hatius along with LSI...but we're the only ones as far as I know. XD

...Shard...if you ever get the chance (and still have Alskyr saved), is their ANY possible way to get BIG maps of all the other stuff that Fractal Terrains program does (temp, climate, rainfall?) I would love to throw those maps up to (not to mention a gaia verson of the globe...)

I have the program for 14 days...I rendered a map for Sentra (while I can, though I can't render them big...*sighs*). I saw some of their other stuff and I fell in love with the city and castle ones...I hate being broke. lol

Unfortunately I don't think I have any of those on this computer. I can check my 98 machine though - but I can't guarantee the size will be any bigger than I've got, the program's a bit finicky about that and saving proper screenies.

ok...if anything, maybe you can get the file to me or something. *shrugs* No big deal. I can only save them as really tiny because it's a demo so I do a print-screen for the world I created for Sentra.

If you can't shard, that's fine. I've always wondered about the climate and stuff for LSI but it's no big deal.

LOL...sweet. Yeah, All worked but I only needed one as I can get all the maps I need/want from just one. XD heehee...

One question as I don't want to make any decisions myself on this...for climates I can increase the world-temp or decrease it. Right now it's mostly temperate forest, alpine forest and tundra type climates for nearly all the islands...with a bit of tropical Deciduous forest and shrublands thrown in the more equator-located ones. XD I dunno if you pictured it being a bit warmer or not. Considering how much water Alskyr is, I'm sure their is very little for desert like climates. lol. XD

I do find it funny how the position of the islands differs from the old one we've always used...LSI was always on the far right and in these it varies from center to more left. *grins*

You can recenter the maps, right-holding on the globe to move it around. but yeah their climate thing is waaaaay off in my opinion. It's always been based on altitude it seems, rather than anything realistic. I love the Gaia overlay though, but for Alskyr and its islands they might get a bit too covered

Oh and the individual maps are *from* the main map, just enlarged screenies. There are no individual island meshes, just the globe.

I just have to say, you did a really great job with this site, Yakima. I am having so much fun going through everything! And the map looks great too, of course.

Ah...I see. I didn't bother with putting the map in "the right spot". I'm rendering sections now...hitting print screen then pasting in PSP where I intend to put it all together later. >.< I Agree with the climate thing, though I tweaked it a bit and got something that I agree with enough as a base. XD (I think I raised the temp by 15 degrees and I got more variety....which makes more sense).

Still, even if it's not precise, it gives a good idea of what to look at....lol. I think the only way to get a more accurate climate picture would be to figure out winds and stuff, go in manually with the brush and raise/lower the temp...which, since my geography fails me now, I won't tweak it....lol

Thanks, Aireona. Yeah, Alskyr was a join collaboration (though I give all the map credit to Shard since she created the map to begin with, if I remember XD). And all that info I just stole from the old site. I haven't done anything with it...just gave the site a face-lift as I had this wonderful idea for the planet on black thing. XD

Yeah Falora from Talor Cliff was a primary instigator, and I did the mapping and doling out of island parcels

Basically we'd both been hit by the Infamous Pernese Purge - letters from Mccaffrey's idiot son and / or heather from the Kitchen Sink 'warning' us that our sites were 'infringement'. Knowing that wasn't the case but not willing to dwell where we weren't wanted, the then-weyrwomen became caerladies

I'm glad you guys came up with this stuff! I love reading about different worlds and species and what not, and I really love that a group kinda built it all up.

Hm... I'm really wanting a pure blood Alskyr dragon now. Hahaha. XD!

Okay, for all those interested

I've updated Alskyr again. I've added pictures for flora/fauna species brought from earth. And I apologize for the winged wolf picture...it's Segs and she's sticking her tongue out.

Anyway, tell me what you think? I'm more worried about layout and whatnot and what's easy to read/follow. XD

(also wants to point out that ONE picture is of my own taking...the white horse for horses is our own mare Peep...she's half-arabian...she only looks more arabian here. XD)
