Reviving an Old Topic - Nexus Genetic Code?

Post by Yakima »

This is something I thought of when doing the Tavrayn info. I called it the "Nexus Genetic Code". Now, I know there were some of you (pokes Dray, Phe, and I think JKat with a stick) that had a thread going with the same topic and had a whole list of stuff arleady. Can't find it...but I remember I didn't completly understand it. So, I decided to try this and see what you all think.

This is what I had for the Tavrayns:
Body Type: Bb
Color: Cc
Size: Ss
Horns: H+H
Plates: PP
Eyes: ee

Now, what does it all mean? Easy. It's a code that one can use to mix a Tavryn with another species. This code is seperate from the code I have though one may want to take that into account for what colors can hatch from the Tavrayn parent. Basiclaly, a capital letter means that if the offspring get that one, they will dispaly it. If they get the lowercase one, then they done show it and the other parent's is displayed. Of course, if you get a B from a Tavrayn and a B from a Pernese, then you will have to mix them.

The H+ just indicates that if you get a dragon with plates paired with a Tavrayn and they both have HH for the species genetics, then you follow the Tavrayn rule as H+ is the dominate over H. So, what does H+H+ do? Good question, will get back to you later.

It's just a thought/idea. I think it would be easier to do the entire clutch follows one set rather then having to draw different templates for every dragonet (unless one was really ambitious). It's what we've all done in the past, anyway. LOL

And I think that for something that another dragon would have that they don't would be listed as xx and, like they do with horses, wouldn't be shown. Would make the length of the code much easier.

*pokes JKat* Could this be something that is eventually posted with those charts (at the site somewhere) where we can snag them? Just a thought...I would help if you need to.
