Eh, more or less close enough. Did you average her parents or were those just miraculously close random rolls?

I guesstimated with the numbers listed in front of me, actually. Just kinda used to averaging / weighted averaging scores for Zekiran characters when I breed them... :)

Hnnn.. I'm going to need outside blood in order to get the trait scores up to the levels I want them to be at. In the mean time, lets take another stab at getting a proper dilute/dilute boy.

Shard, you're the best. :3

I tried a randomized set at first and it only allowed for one kitten -- I thought that was dumb so I went with the old fashioned four-of-a-kind strategy.

I have so many females already but F127 is my pick of Procyon and Vega's litter! BUT LOOK AT THAT TINY ONE THOUGH. I'd really like to see someone breed for the smallest cats possible and make a breed out of it x3

I think the little one's needed by both StarFyre's minese and both of the breeds that I am trying for, so he ought to get some love! I've added the unchosen ones to the adoptables pages, and whenever yours is up I'll add her to the registry!

(I also did a breeding that had a black male as a result that I didn't need, he's here if you're interested!)

Yes please! :D I am such a fan of black cats IRL too that it'd be a crime for me to /not/ try breeding some on here. x3

[Edit] F127 Asterope is up -- http://www.mysticalplace.com/Starfall/L ... l#Asterope" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm making new pages for cats that will be breeders for my Black Opal project. I still have to work out how I'm going to go about this, but it's a start!

[Edit 2] Dray, can I actually snag F062 from the adoptables as well? She carries iridescent and would be really perfect for my project.

I did the breeding between your Suzu and my Abrico and I think I'm really pleased by the results! I love 'em! I've taken F134 and M134, but if you'd like one or two or the rest, let me know! ^_^

Aldebaran (M131): http://www.mysticalplace.com/Starfall/L ... #Aldebaran" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Before I get to breeding them, is there anyone around who can breed for iridescence? I'm going to be seeking more for my project. Bonus if they have or carry the pearl iris gene!

Oh my gawd they're lovely! :D

I will take M133 and F135. M133 is now known as Burny Mac. F135 is Gracie.

That leaves F133 up for grabs, she's pretty but I like the other two more :D

Actually, yeah, I'll go ahead and breed these two. Ideally I'm looking for a black velvet checker carrying iridescence and pearl iris. This might take a few tries x3

All the numbers that you guys have been requesting should now have all the names added to them -- at least in my records. X3 Anyone that's been added to your pages I think I have added to the Registry, but if you feel like doing me a favour and double-checking if any of the more recent are missing, I think it would help!

Starburst, iridescent is a tricky one to get. Since it can only be acquired (newly, anyways) through semi-random forms, you only have a 1/4 chance of getting it. (When I roll the two random traits beside colour, pattern and eye-colour, I would roll from the "Recessive Autosomal Mutations" table -- which has eight options! Though one is pearl iris so perhaps I ought to move that to its own little section. o.o) The other way that you could snag the iridescent gene is to watch for the next Kiriban cat to come out -- F150 or M150. That'll be a guaranteed iridescent as you can ask to have a foundation cat of your breed! :D

In the meantime, I've found that it's helpful to just go for getting one trait homozygous, and then get another line with another trait the same... I think it requires some inbreeding, but luckily these cats are pixelated and mostly immune to weird genetic diseases!

Here are your cats from the last requested breeding! Sorry for the wait, this week's Nano-ing has been eating up all of my attention! I went for the non-randomized breeding because you only had a 25% chance of getting iridescent to pass on whatsoever, so while your two females wound up having it this time, at least perhaps they can be bred back in to get some potential of doubling up?

I originally set up trading as a semi-realistic way to have cats be bred amongst owners. It isn't really as feasible when looking at them like online cyberpets, but I was attempting to liken it to when, say, a pigeon loft will mail over one of their pigeons to another fancier to do some gene testing and breeding. They physically trade places! So if you wanted to allow breeding, someone could ask if you'd be willing to let them page one of your cats in their loft, at the expense of having to take it down in your own. The benefits? They can breed that cat as often as they like, unlike the cross-loft breedings, which I only allow once a month. (The reasoning behind that is that what you guys are doing is physically bringing over one cat to another person's loft to have it bred, then returning with it to your own loft... so I was aiming at some verisimilitude to actual breeding. Right now it's kind of cumbersome, but I'm not sure how to get it polished from here!)

Anyways, I'll list your loft as breedable! :D

Ahh I see :D Kinda like on Pony Island when you move a pony from one sub account to another, to avoid having to pay the stupid fees on your own ponies even though you're the owner of all the accounts in question. (only this case, would be not the owner, but a bit more trustworthy than any random folk on PI that offer to 'hold on' to your pony...)

Essentially! If this were any other forum I would have set up an economy, where whomever owns the Queen charges the owner of the Tom to breed, and interloft breedings would be done that way... but since the Nexus has no economy, I've just done the 'one per month' restriction to forestall kitty overload!

Also, StarFyre, if you take M126, would you be willing to do a breeding for him to try to throw some kittens with the gazzi gene? (+//z) I've been looking out for a cat with that gene to add to my Gazzi Modena line but so far no luck!

My pick is F136, the black velvet checker! Gosh the black kitties are gorgeous c:

I'm going to be sending in another pair for breeding in a bit here, but I'll get my two up before that.

Oh my god that's totally my mistake x___x I've been just copy-pasting tables from the ones I had up before the scale-based traits were a thing, and I completely forgot to include new rows for those.

I'll work on updating those now. *facedesk*

Oh no! That sucks, I'm sorry!

In the meantime, if you want to update the other cats with the scale traits, either I can do that, or if you want to do it like Shard, I just rolled a d100 for the founder cats (or cats whose parents belong to owners who aren't around any more, like Houka) and then took the mean between parents for offspring and added or subtracted up to ten... and I may wind up doing that in a more refined way eventually, though I haven't figured out that way yet!

And Starburst, I realize that I may have been accidentally swindling you by expressing the black gene incorrectly! Like how black tabbies are actually brown with black markings, a black velvet checker would be brown with black wings... I think that the best way to get a black, iridescent cat would be to go for barless -> c//c! (Alternately, a similar look could be got with Blue and Spread -> B+//B+, S//S)

And in other news, I managed to obtain a cat that carries the iridescent gene, He's here on the bottom right (Flashpan (M137)) I was going to say that if you want me to breed him with one of my own to see if he throws any more iridescents, I'll toss them up on the Adopt page and you could use some fresh blood for your strain!

Well, things are rarely quite as simple as they seem! x3

In that case, may I snag F043 from the adoptables page, since she's a homozygous barless without really any other genes that can muddle things?

Also, yes, I'd love to see some more iridescent genes bred!

Heads up to anyone who is looking out for the next kiriban cat! I've been doing some of my own breedings and we've now passed beyond F145 -- only a few more females to go before the momentous F150 strikes! Whoever breeds and keeps/adopts F150 can claim a founder cat for the breed that they'd like to work towards.

(This means that if you haven't thought about what kind of breed you'd like to make, you'll need to collect a set of genes to describe one... but if you want help or inspiration, I'm around and like to talk about it! Looking towards various fancy pigeon or show cat breeds will give you a good inspiration, too!)

Also, Starburst, I put a few more cats with the iridescent gene up at the bottom of this page if you are interested. A couple of them even possess barless, or at least carry it!
