Yeah, I guess...>.< I should have submitted him sooner...It is "me" that riders her, that's why...I was a little leery about submitting her but I didn't think you would actually choose her, for some reason....*sighs*

You can always say that Phalinth's rider and Jesioth's rider wind up together instead of the 'you' character with the random rider whose dragon paired up with Phalinth! I'm not expecting and in fact am hoping that Delyar only describes the dragons' part of the flight, if only because I don't want to tread on people's toes. I'm leaving any shenanigans that happen with the riders strictly up to you guys.

I actually have a dragon who's participated in three frenzies, and her rider has ended up with someone completely unrelated to the dragon's mate each time. I had to check the actual records for the '02 Flurry, because I didn't recognize the rider name that time.

It's also not terribly uncommon IC-wise for riders in frenzies to end up seeking out old mates or someone of the opposite gender/compatible species/preferred physical attributes. Or desperately seeking another rider whose dragon picked an unbonded mate. It's a frenzy, everyone's going wild, have fun with it.

Heck, IC, your self-persona might find something interesting in Phalinth's mate's rider. Could make for some interesting story or roleplay opportunities. *chuckles*

Yeah, I'm not to wories. Phalnith isn' gonna stay long. I just realized the when for Shintaru (Delyar, you have a turn for this thing before I get to far into this story? XD) so she's going to clutch and I'm going to make her leave because I'm sure no matter what turn you put this thing, Philippe is gonna be there. LOL Of course, that may be "fun" to run into him but, yeah.

Hey Dray, offhand, do you have an idea which Geperna of mine you might use? I don't care who they pair with =P Just got some story ideas that are boiling (omgstorieswhat?) and one of those ideas hinges on at least one of the merc's Geperna's being there (and a discussion with you/Delyar about yes/no feasibility of something).

It would be pretty evil, I have to admit!

A heads up: Delyar is working on the flight story, and I am finished with pairings (I apologize in advance: I really wanted to pair all of the applicants up because there were so many pretties, but once I realized that there were over 100 offspring already coloured, I snapped out of my kleptomaniacal sparklies fit and had to stop!). I'm on and off working on candidates who will act as 'filler' for any freebies you so desire -- freebies will essentially be 'you ask for five dragons, and you get five dragons and their riders.' (It works sort of like the BWR, that way.)

There will be enough gold and bronze equivalents that I think that everybody could probably get away with one (or maybe two if they're lucky) each... don't quote me on that because I haven't done a solid headcount yet! If you plan on writing for blues and greens, there are quite a few. There are also a lot of not-quite-classic Pernese dragons (Different coloured wings, sunset/twilight/etc.'s a few Gepernas and a couple of half Star City mutts floating around) I'm going to offer a section on the form that you fill in like "How strictly classical do you want your dragons" so that you'll get one of the classic five-colour, no-pattern types, or something a little more odd.

I'm also probably going to have a section for 'what colour do you not want for this rider?' though I won't include a section that allows you to make a preferred colour... if you guys all want to say exactly what colour you want for your dragon, I'll think on it, though I've always figured that part of the allure of writing for Pernese-etc. dragons was trying to communicate clearly enough with the clutch-runner the colour that the candidate is made for (or else saying, "screw it! Let's just see what happens! :D") ... so them's the facts.

I will be putting up a candidate form here so that Delyar and I both have equal access to 'em. All stories, pickup pages, etc. will be found at the Old Blood Frenzy site. If you have anyone in mind and want to, feel free to start writing backstory now... we haven't decided on a theme for candidates, and I don't think I want a specific one. XD Candidates must be human or close enough to pass as one, though they don't have to come from Pern. I think that's it!

Update on progress: Delyar's new computer came in (and it sounds like a dream. XD) so she says she'll be working on the flight during the weekend. We're getting closer to the candidate accepting stage! :D

I may wind up doing this in stages. First, I'll accept freebie requests (and post a big list of who gets how many freeb's due to the dragons they sent in that clutched). I'll give more time for the candidate writing side of things, and allow you to send 'em all in during the entire candidate intake process... but I'm going to make a deadline for freebies that's earlier than the storied candidates. This will give me time to write up characters to put with the dragons while you're all doing story-stuff, and give me a level by which to gauge if I've coloured enough dragons or need to make more. :3

Everything will hatch around the same time (or maybe in waves, or circles, or however Delyar wants to do it!) for maximum hatching goodness.

Speaking of which, I need to get an idea from Delyar of how to code the pickup info so that I can just give everything that I've done to her for easy posting. X3

How the Frenzy Hatchings Will Work
->Hatchings will go out in waves, probably about three of them total. That makes around 33 or 34 dragons per wave.
->Freebies: You can request up to 3 freebies to each wave, and can send them in separately from your written candidates. Freebies will most likely get greens and blues (or their equivalents) though I may give out more higher rankers based on random chance. (Parental freebie slots don't use up a freebie slot!)
->Written Candidates: You can send in up to 5 written candidates to each wave. If you choose to use one of parental freebie spots for a written character, you'll get an extra freebie slot! (hope that makes sense!)

I don't mind using mine, just so long as people don't feel obligated to if they have er... alternate means of transportation.

Ch'vi drags Haeth off as soon as possible. Otherwise he'd be as broody as a gold guarding his "little freaks". Plus Clya is Ch'vi's weyrmate, so they usually go out together. (And Trenda/W'han as another pair.)
