I'd like to run a frenzy using this template for all of the offspring.

Typical frenzy fare: each pairing would probably have 3-7 offspring each, parents will need to be either Pernese/Alskyrian or similar enough in build that it makes sense that the offspring will look like the image above. the owners of the parents would get a freebie space from the clutch hatched, though if they wanted the freebie, it would come with a rider attached (same with any sponsorings, just because these guys would all need riders, consarnit!)

Like the Backwards Frenzy had the occasional weird colouring (lol, flamingo dragons!) I was thinking it would be nifty to have some normals and a few black sheep coming of this. I'm not planning on mimicking the size of the Backwards Frenzy, so the participants and the dragons going out would be limited!

Would anyone be interested in sending in participants? Candidates -- Storied-candidates, or just a collect-em-all sort of giveaway event? Would anyone be interested in hosting the event IC (like a Weyr or Caer or some other place where the records can live?) or in writing the pre-flight and pairing list, etc? I like team effort. XD It makes things manageable! (I've already cornered a JKat to make a hatchling template, though unless I have time, or can call on someone to make a weyrling template, it'll be a two-stage deal.)

This wouldn't be happening right now because there are plenty of other frenzies and giveaways and bigger events going on, but sometime in the near-middle future, possibly between November and February... a chance to nab some predictably old-school looking dragons, along with a few weird colourations that are slightly less old-school but still old-school none the less. A chance to fluff up your Wings or Alas!

hmm.. I think the most 'pernese' I have are a handful of vellacrean court-dragons. (Or maybe not, I think I have some pernese around somewhere...)

Anyway, if I can find said dragons, they could participate. As for a place to put records... *shrugs* Akelara's always an option, if you'd like. It's not going piff anytime in the near future.

I'm trying to get back into writing, sigh. Trying so hard...

*putters, putzes, pours 'pon potential participants, and pilfers pencil and paper for pondering purposes*

Yes, I know, I'm a moron. XD

But if I'm able to get my website off the ground before the end of the year (I have all archives saved, I have layouts planned, I have a host and domain name chosen, I have notes like you wouldn't believe... I just for the life of me cannot get things officially started), I don't mind dedicating some webspace and time to hosting the event. For better or worse, I myself am in little danger of going anywhere. I've like that lawn gnome that just won't get out of your garden.

Of course, if someone with more experience and an actual, established locale with an actual, established history wants dibs on hosting, more power to you! =D

I would love this too. :)

Of course, I still need to see if there are still people active that had candidates left in the Gryphon festival I did...

I am all over this thing. If you need someone to write copious amounts of hints at dragon sex, I volunteer myself. Same for the hatching. (I'm taking three first year courses and when the kitten is sleeping, I have absolutely nothing to do.)

I have a boatload of dragons, especially males, that I could erm... donate?

I could also host it ICly, though it would probably be at "Shintaru Weyrhold" instead of E.S.D. since I uhh... blew up the latter. I'd have no qualms writing it in someone else's spot, though, so long as I don't have to follow the world's most precise geography.

Anyway, yes, dragons. Frenzy. Lots of babies. Something to do. Let me know.

Falas could host ... then you would have the FGPC up for genetic alterations at your finger tips. XD But if someone else would rather go for it.

I still might run my Sport Dragon Frenzy (Flynnth keep glaring at me...I think it's about that...hmmm).

Or you can use the FGPC...the sands are...I think....a bit bigger? Can't remember. Should "measure" that. :P

Up to you. I would probably throw in some stat characters to get some "lesser" dragons. Or something.

No, flynnth is not participating in this...I have new foder to throw at ya for participants. XD *ducks firestone sacks* Maybe, I should have MY Phalinth participate! *glares at Flynnth* So take THAT, ya over grown...eek...

I'm a little tempted to let Serylth participate once I have her and B'ian paged, since she does share the same template. I'm just curious how news would/could reach New Telgar though, since it's so isolated from general Nexus comings and goings.

Is there some sort of underground network of information for riders who aren't "native" to New Telgar's timeline? Or should I just hand-wave it to keep things simple? A wizard did it, in essence. *chuckles*

I would love it. ;) And I would definitely want to participate, provided I can write up some Candidates... take me forever, and I've got a lot on my plate just now. ;)

I have chasers I could send you (would you prefers golds to greens, female-wise?) and I would be interested in making Candidates if that's what you're planning on. As for the debate for paged Candidates/giveaway, I could swing either way. Honestly, I prefer the old-fashioned making Candidates myself, but I just don't get around to writing pages as often as I'd like, and I'm a bit backlogged right now with Geocities being itself. So giveaways would mean I'd have a little more time to page them after I got them, but either way I'd still have to page them, so it makes no difference to me. ;)

I totally love those images, too. /And/ I'm addicted to hoarding dragons, apparently. Hee. So win.

Let's say that if a New Telgar dragonrider has had the (un?)fortunate mischance of betweening to another space and time by accident in the past, they can most certainly do it again. >:3 (I'm still not ready to plot exactly how New Telgar works, IC, but I will post all the info blurbs once I get some time for it!)

In regards to hosting, I hit Delyar up for her offer, and we're just coming up with a title and theme for the frenzy right now. Tentatively calling it 'old blood frenzy' or somesuch however (and this is important to me!) your dragons do not have to be Pernese to participate. For example, if you have an SCD Mutt from a million years past, those are perfectly eligible. So long as they're not too crazily different from the pernese template, they're fair game to me!

And yep, candidate writing and having a written hatching are things that I'd like to do. Because of this, it doesn't matter if you send in golds or greens, I'm limiting the clutch numbers to between three and seven offspring per pairing. Just to keep the writing and colouring end of it manageable, mostly... but I'm not expecting such a huge outpouring of candidates that we're going to have a rider for each and every dragon! XD

I'm still convening with Delyar (XD I like to make things sound official-like~) but in the meantime, if you guys who have participants want to participate, here is an audition form! Once we get a decent amount of fliers and suitors, I'll pick a few and pass them on to Delyar for the official flight list. X3

The Participant Form
Your Name:
Your Email:
Number of Auditioners You're Sending:
Comments: (If you have any favorites out of the bunch you're sending, feel free to let me know!)
Dragon Name:
Species:
Gender:
Colour:
Bonded?: (If the URL to the rider is different than to the dragon, please add it here!)

As the offspring for this clutch may not be entirely pernese, the candidates may not necessarily have to be entirely pernese humans, either. :3 If you have an old-fashioned Weyr where Pernese is the only kind of dragon and human accepted, I'll add a spot in the candidate/sponsor forms where you can let me know that's all you want. Otherwise I may futz around with a few of the sponsor-based candidates the same way that I'm hoping to get the occasional weird-coloured dragon!

Do you want dragons that stick strictly to the green-blue-brown-bronze-gold color scheme or will you take some exotically colored guys and girls? Or blend of both, like you'll accept something like a green-blue or a night gold but no sunsets or spotted or stripped?

Or do you not really care as long as their body type is Pernese? Sorry for the 50 questions, I'm just (procrastinating on studying/writing a paper by) going through my dragons and picking out the plainest in body type and finding, while I have a lot of regular blues and greens, mostly I have strange color types that fit the bill. XD;

I'm working on a preliminary site as this goes on, so we'll have a URL soon. I should have something up tonight with a bit of an IC blurb on what's going on, where it's being held, who's the poor person stuck in charge of this ICly etc. It won't be anything fancy, but it's always nice to have a URL.

Hopefully being a part of the organization will curb my desire to do something silly like the Pirates to fill up the clutch and steal moar pretties.

colour doesn't matter! Regular pernese and alskyrian colours are fine. bi-coloured dragons (green with blue wings, for example) are also fine. Sunset speckled moire spiderweb is fine, too. I'll wind up picking mostly probably 3:1 normal:oddly coloured for this. :3 Some normal colours could result from non-normal dragon pairings, given the weird colour-spectrum thing that Anne set up!

Kaivith is absolutely GORGEOUS. -drools over-.

And... I will get back to you on a auditioner later... I've not started repaging yet...

Are you setting a deadline at all? I'm trying to focus on getting the old sites saves/uploaded before I work on my Weyr too much, but, I'll try and spare a few minutes sometime to dig Catalys and Cimoath out and get 'em up...

No deadline yet! It's a busy time of year -- like I said, I'm not planning on running the hatching side of things until between December and February, so I don't mind if the auditions run along for a while!

I'll probably close the auditions and pick the fliers in the next week or week and a half, though if you want more time than that, poke me!

Ah, thank you Saeri, she's one of my favorite "oddballs." X3 She's actually a second-generation offspring of the original Backwards Frenzy. I have a third-gen offspring that looks kinda like an undead flamingo with see-through bony wings, Eostydeuth.

Thanks, Saeri!

o.o Is it just me seeing the wrong dragon info in the personality section? XD I was just looking to confirm names and genders and all I see is info about Palanth!

...Oh, wait, all of the info is up top. X3 I'm totally not quite awake yet. Hee hee.

eta: Also, is Leireth a play off of a gold, a blue, or what? X3 I noted that Yakima says in her colour guide that silver is a mutation of blue, but my first guess was that Leireth is the equivalent of gold (due to her wings!) I'm only wondering because I'm playing around with pairings and am wondering if she will take a blue or blue-sized mate, or if she'll only stand for the bronze-and-brown-equivalent crowd!

Weird, I remember reading that black was the rank equivalent of blue, maybe that's new flavor text. The "natural rare" progression should go silver, copper, cream, black, white (don't ask how I remember all that XD), with about equivalent size to rank ratio in most individuals.

Well, unless she was a twin/triplet or was lain by a sport dragon... probably best to confirm with Yakima actually. =)

I must say I love the variation that's coming out just within these "please have a relatively normal shape" guidelines.

URL has been delayed due to kitten aggro and RL stuff. I'll try to get something up for this weekend. (Huge lab due on Friday eek.)

Take your time!

I'm playing around with potential pairings in between doing homework. *goes a little cross-eyed!* Once participants stop coming in, I'll make a final list of who I'm picking and send it your way... if you want to put up all of the auditioners or wait until I have the final pairings, I'm cool either way. X3

Kitten aggro: the best, most cutest aggro evar!

eta again: Those raw gemstone dragons are to die for. :O~~~

eta 2: Astra, is Savitath a bronze-equivalent? He sounds like one, but I have no clue. XD

You know, I don't actually know. I'd have to ask Ty. I always considered him brown-equivalent but I could be wrong about that. He's in a leadership role because he is awesome and Draconia Station doesn't observe color rankings :P

Also, IC-wise, I should probably mention that Dorian and Tai (Savitath and Arionath's respective riders) are "together," but their dragons are siblings and can't mate. I didn't want them to end up together. Dorian's entire backstory was based on his cute lil' romance with somebody else. But this was one of the most severe cases of characters taking over the plot that I've ever seen. I couldn't heeelp it! But anyway, because of this, the riders might not participate in the flight, or if they do they won't have any lasting attachments from it. But they don't want to begrudge their dragons a chance to have a good time :)
