Treval Dragonry - Anarendor Terms

Post by Yakima »

I have a tentive list of terms from the Anarian Dragonries up. I'm going through and revising but this explains the plane travel ability a bit better, I think.

I know some people were asking for the Anarendor/Treval info and I started to play/experiment with OpenOffice a bit more. Instead of a site, would this be more helpful or do you still prefer a site? (which I would make after this book type thing though I like this a bit better for updating, me thinks)

(go to the Tavrayn info...it has a picture. :P)

I'm not fond of .pdf's as a main source of information because they need to be downloaded to be read, and they tend to be fickle to scroll through. As a backup or optional source of information, they're great, but if you've got species info I would far rather see it on a page on your site rather than in pdf form.

The only time that I'd be wanting a pdf would be if I needed the info for making/writing a clutch, or if your site went down or moved and wasn't uploaded again. a pdf does have value! I just don't think it should be the first choice.

:P I would still make the site, Dray, but after this because this is much easier for me to organize, truth be told. I don't have to jump around to a bunch of html files if I need/want to add something.

The benefit I see of a pdf version would be that if my site went down and you had it downloaded, you still have access to the information. :P

That's true and a good point. Though myself I too find them to be loathsome things because almost every time I open one online it crashes my browser.

Heh, guess I just have better luck with them. If anything, I've learned a lot about OpenOffice while creating this (like background, columns and image wrapping). :P My D&D handbook was my inspiration so, yeah. Anarendor was inspired by D&D anyway so it makes sense. lol

This will help me organize all my information either way, without having to worry about coding so my thoughts aren't interrupted. Working on spells now. XD

I suppose that it depends on the long run if you're primarily making the information for yourself, or for other people. XD pdf's are nice if you're keeping it for yourself in prep for printing, but they're not the best for sharing.

I'm making it for everyone because you all probably want/need the dragon info though I'm sure the rest of it you're not going to need. I'm still going to get the web page up. I just can't focus (or make sure things are spelled right) in notepad. I'm still going to make this in OpenOffice but if no one wants the pdf I won't bother. I just thought it looked cool. It's not like, other then the dragons and maps, I have my own artwork to use for anything else (like the races). *shrug*
