Dark Moon Updates - Calling Candidates, Chasers, Risers!

Just letting people know the Flight Boards are up and working. I was going to have the Weyrwoman's green fly and clutch next but I would like to focus more on spreading a gene pool...*realizes she forgot something in the form* I forgot the genetic code spot...well, if you don't know it, you can have me make one up. I really only need the beginning of it...

I have tweaked a few of the genes a bit to make things a bit more feasible. Like light and nights, the shade variations, and I think something else but I can't remember. Ll and LL are normal, ll is a light or night (50/50 chance); Hh and HH are normal shades; hh is a lighter or darker dragon; h1h1 is a 'dark' shade and a h2h2 is a light shade. h1 and h2 repel each other so they can't happen but hh2/h2h or hh1/h1h result in a lighter or darker shade with h being dominate over h1 or h2.

Other then that, the codes at the FGPC are correct. I'll go make sure I change what I've tweaked. I only did it because if I left it as it was, Ilverinth and Faroth's clutches would all be normal because LL and ll could only result in Ll which was not a light or night. Hope this makes more sense.

Anyway....I have hatchlings to mess around with! Mwaahaaa!

I'm opening clutch one now.

yes, there is a queen. I ran the results for this clutch and I had to laugh but they are what they are and I'm not changing it. Lets just say there are only three colors hatching in this clutch but I'm not saying what colors - other then the one obvious one. I'm going to go get the candidate form working right now so when it's up, you can actually send them in.

Also, if you have a female you want to rise at Dark Moon, fill out the form - just put the Genetic Code in the comments section.

If you don't know what it would be, I can figure it out but I'll need at least the parents and how 'normal' they were.

I have a green that I would like to send, but I need to update her full page (since she's from the last half-attempted Aneris restart, and didn't technically get her adult image yet, but obviously it's been 3 years since that time, the dragon's grown up, I have the green adult for the site...) I don't have the genetic code obviously, but she DOES come from an interestingly varied white's clutch!

I can 'create' a code for her Shard, or you can. I took that liberty with all my dragons.

I assume you're talking about Iboroth?

I can either give you possibilies or decide myself. She could have C1C2 for her color part. and T1T2 for the wing color. But for those to work the sire will have to have C2 or T2.

And I don't let you see the codes when you pick *smirk* So, really, what ever you want to be 'possible'.

Heck, I looked at the codes for Ilverinth and Faroth laughed because gold was possible...then I rolled it. Opps...well...it made a better excuse in the clutching story for Juniamaa to be storming off to talk to the Weyrwoman. *grin*

I desperately wanted to send you A'xes's Miasth to rise, but I wasn't able to find the information about her parents. The Beach Shards records are gone, from what I can tell. *sadface*

If she's 'normal stock', meaning there is little chances of rares, make up her DNA and use a lot of capital letters and 1's.

Well, I thought at least one of her parents were rare, I just can't know for sure now. And genetics still confuse me. I've been looking up cat and dog genetics all day for Whiterock, so I'd probably be even more confused than normal. XP

Her parents were, btw:

teal-lilac Anzenth and brown Onaleth

bother appear, from there images, to be from Shard. Anzenth is a healing Denner hatched in Frenzy Flight Three (*pokes Shard* XD) And Onaleth is from Alabaster WeyrHold. So, unless that Frenzy Flight was all natural rares, she would have normal genes.

I have teal and lilac would probably be my 'purple'...

So yeah...there ya go! XD

She's pretty far from "normal".

Teal-lilac Anzenth=(Light-and-Dark-Blue Reeazonith+Green-Red Corlath [Raindith + Pryzith]) & brown Onaleth ( Old-World Bronze Quantoth+Old-World Gold Ayamshuteth )

Reeazonith's a dark and light blue twotone, Anzenth is a bicolor Frenzy dragoness, in fact several of those are Healing Denners and therefore are pretty much "flexible" for rare colorations. Quantoth and Ayamshuteth are both certifiably old-world Pernese bronze and golds.

I don't care what genetic codes you pick for them, in terms of rare possibilities. That's why this is nice. Even if you have a dragon's who's genetics are rare, you can end up with a very normal dragon. The last clutch at the FGPC kinda proves that. It's that C10 gene that determines a color that can't be passed on. C10 (and now there is a C0 for a color switch...like a gold who should be a bronze and has bronze DNA...) is only there if the dragon was altered. Which is why I asked if Anzenth was a genetic or natural rare. Onaleth's C1C1 probably dominates whatever Anzenth had so Miasth is C1Cx (x being the number for whatever color group you pick).

Make sense?

I would rather people choose the DNA codes for there dragons because I don't want to 'limit' what hatches.

Heck, I have a gold egg on the sands and didn't intend to. Ohhh...I should run a chart for Phalinth and Faroth and see what should/could hatch for them if they have a 'natural' clutch...and Mixuith and Syobeth. *grin*

I'm going to try something called Best-Fit Right...I think Ryslen does this...

Because I know what the clutch will hatch out as, you may send in a candidate wanting a certian color but I may not have that color in this clutch. Best-Fit Right, if you choose to use it, will guarantee that you get at least one of the three colors you pick, as long as I think they deserve it. So, say you ask for a bronze. But I roll the dice and bronze doesn't come up. Your candidate doesn't Impress and I fill in the spot with a NPC. The next clutch comes up, I roll the results and a bronze shows up. Your candidate will Impress in that clutch.

Of course, if you have no preference BFR has no effect.

I also changed the clutching story because there is a gold egg *kicks it* Well, this will be fun, at least. LOL

o^3 should be superscript but I don't think the board allowed for that.

I just put the S and N factors in parenthesis because they only come into play if the O's are oo.

In writing up my current candidate, I am in need of a couple craftspeople that might be at DMW. I notice you have only a couple non-riders listed... Is it okay if I make one up and you can have them if you wish? I'd be using a variation on my rider generator for them.

Sure...I should probably find out what crafts my riders knew/know, too, being that they're WeyrHolders now.

And for reference, the Azayla is the daughter of Azala and E'lan. Her brother is going to Impress somewhere and is gone, but she's still there. She's going to be a candidate, too...to somewhere, I just don't know where yet.

Her little gold is named Yuki after her mothers dragon, Yukith.

I want to bring her and her brother to Falas...eventually.

Though I should write some candidates and keep them at Dark Moon, too.

The only crafter that I have that I know of is Ryo but I haven't decided what craft she's from. Most of the riders there now, other then the few 'originals' from Falas Weyr, are from the Dark Moon Region. I'll know more when I dust of my generator and stats for N'han and them.

And, to Shard and Kit, did you want to send your females yet? I can use one of my own dragons for the second clutch if you two want some more time.

Don't worry about the codes too much, people. I'm going to post codes for dragons used in the past, too, like Zenith and Niayith, to help that one but, after doing some of these dragons, there are a lot of genetic manipulation still going on, even in clutches I once deemed 'natural'.

Oh, well. Once I get a female or two on the board, I'll open the flights. I might start setting deadlines here, too, even though I don't want to. >.<

I will as soon as I have Dragonhope set up at droppin-the-fork.com. Right now it's such a daunting task, I don't really know if I'm going to organize it very well, with all the repeated images I have on old dragons, and such. but I'll get Dragonhope up pretty easily.

Ah, sorry, I got side-lined by other things. I'm off school until next week, so I'll try to finish that story I'm working on, but I still have to move the site off geocities, too, so I don't know how long it will take.
