I have lately found myself without a lot of time. D: Real Life and all of the Beloved Responsibilities it comes with are rather time consuming, so I had to mostly-drop the few groups of online communities I was still involved in. That sucks for a lot of reasons, but one of the biggest things that kind of ruffles my feathers about it is that I find myself without any outlets for creativity.
The most I'll do now is watercolor something really quick if my friends drag out the paint sets, but that doesn't happen as often as I'd like. So I got to thinking.One of the things I really liked and really missed about the nexus was the chance I got to play with things, and concepts, and ideas. If i got the idea for some really nifty new beasty, I could draw it up and play around with it.
Possibly, other people would be interested in it, or at the very least, I got a chance to breed it with some of the creatures i'd accumulated from various other agencies. I got to breed things that I never would've thought of on my own-- i'm thinking specifically of things with multiple legs that I did once... ah, good times. I also liked the chance i had to play with characters outside of my own head and small group of private rp buddies.. just lots of outlets for creativity that the nexus had to offer. I miss that, a lot, and now that i'm not an active member of any roleplay communities, I miss that more then ever. that's why i came back-- to quash some pern cravings, but now hte whole omg-creativity-dragons-yay cravings are coming back full force.So I really want to get involved again, but... casually. And that's where my issues would come in- right now, the most I could realistically do is the occasional HEY LOOK A GIVEAWAY type thing. I probably can't run tranditional breedings, with the whole flight-get a female- get some males- pick- flight story- announce clutch- write story- draw babies- distribute babies process. Maybe once in a blue moon, but it's just not feasible right now. D: Likewise, I'd love to write candidates again, or start accumulating dragons again, but i have some serious roadblocks when it comes to writing anything, and paging takes a lot of time, if i remember correctly. <.< so that's not really feasible either, except on a very small scale.
So, basically, what I'm getting at is a few questions-
a) would anyone mind that kind of half-presence? My agencies would still mostly be closed, but there would be distributions and clutches and whatnot coming from them, but in a very loose, forum-based manner. Probably in the form of giveaways, occasional quick-and-dirty roleplay events, and the occasional very loose forum-hatching. not much website related activity at all, for at least a few months, and possibly more. The frequency of giveaways and things would be variable, and i might drift away at times, depending on my bosses asking me for overtime and hanging with my people and all of that.
so would anyone mind that sporadic-ness?b) I still wanna do breedings and all of that, too, of other people's dragons. so this is really on an informal level, but if you've got a pair of random dragons that you think you want to breed, but don't want to submit them anywhere or bother with hte whole proceedings, feel free to toss them at me? If you see a pair that makes you think 'hm, those would look interesting, but not enough of a priority to ever draw out,' or think, 'man I'd like to breed so-and-so, but can't find a partner/don't want to deal with the whole story thing', feel free to drop me a line? Feel free to look through my dragon archives as well, too. If I have the time, I'd prolly jump on it-- that's one of the big things I love about nexus. love for offsprings. maybe give em a few guidelines and i'll just have fun with it.
I'd either toss you the bebies to do with as you please/distribute as you see fit, or give them out in a giveaway form. Whoo!That's all really.
