If you're going to be absent for a long time, this is the forum where you can let people know it.

In your post, please say how long you'll be gone--use specific dates whenever possible.

When you get back, post a new message in that thread to say you've returned, and edit the first post subject so it's obvious you're back, too.

This way, people can look at the forum at a glance and see who's here and who's not, which is especially helpful when seeing if a dragon needs to be abandoned due to forgetfulness, or if the owner just isn't around to update.
