ICly this is happening on the Isle of Hope, a big paradise planet meticulously maintained by an ouroboros named Mael. He wants inhabitants to be fruitful and multiply, so long as he keeps an offspring.
I'm really not expecting stories or IC stuff for potential fliers(runners?) so pleassse don't write them! I'd hate to see your dragons stuck standing there for ages and missing out on sponsoring or bonding opportunities because I haven't bred them into the project yet.

daaaaamn I have a lot now! and I forgot to ask for dragon's race in the form XD well, this'll let me get acquainted with the participants more, i guess.
I'll probably make another column that says if the participant has wings of any kind and what kind. The dragonfly wings I still might use because I'm pretty sure any offspring would just have teensy little useless wings that would disappear in one or two gens.

I have a proposal for this project, since I've talked to Mud and she doesn't sound like she's coming back... and this sounded like it could be fun!

There are a heckuva lot of submissions to Grounded!, so I was wondering if people would like to make it a communal breeding project: Draw a sketch of whatever pairing you choose with some loose colours, as well as a skeleton of information like abilities, restrictions, and other info passed on to offspring -- not for the intention of giving a clutch away for each and every pairing, but for the purpose of providing an image for generational breeding that others can use.

Everybody who chooses to participate could do as many of these drawings as they wanted, as polished or not as they wanted (the base goal being a sketch with a colour palette matching up skin, fur, eyes, etc.) along with any info needed for breeding accompanying the image. The main objective would be to follow the breeding project's main goals:

-Additionally, all submitted flight (runner?) participants to this project are labelled 'P', as parents. Offspring born from them are F1. Offspring born from any pairing with an F1 dragon are F2, and so on. All dragons produced may only breed with their own level, one above, or one below. So 'P' dragons may breed with other 'F1' dragons, while 'F1' dragons may breed with any 'P' or 'F2' dragon.
-Direct Inbreeding is discouraged, such as parent and child, or sibling and sibling. Aside from that, you may determine how unrelated a dragon should be to be bred (and you can include that in your sketch sheets as a restriction, if you want!) There are some submitted dragons in the 'P' category who directly related, so keep an eye out for those!
-The results of each breeding provided by you may be used by other folks as parents of proceeding generations, though everyone must respect any restrictions in play.
-If you want to make a real clutch with offspring to give away or to write candidates for, please ask the owners of the parents, especially if the parents of the clutch are 'P' level.

I've made a list of male and female dragons who most closely fit the bill from all of the submissions above, and will put them up in the next post, but nobody says that you have to use those ones; so long as they were submitted above, they are available for the project.

No deadlines and no rushes, though if you would like to participate, if you have a side-goal, please announce it! For example, I'm hoping to take dragons that are one of a kind, or else whose species are rather rare, and attempt to breed offspring that are similar looking, and eventually make a real clutch when I've found a generation that best mimicks the species I was trying to emulate. I'll post an example below, after the lists of (P)-generation dragons who are best likely to serve the main goals of this project.

Example Of Breeding
My goal in this group breeding project is to take rare or one-of-a-kind dragons and to breed 'em, eventually making a full clutch of dragons that closely resembles them but isn't as closely related as parent/child or niece/nephew.

Here's a template for the kind of thing that I'd post:

Breeding Ruby Kilamdiry Dragon, Mougati(P) and Copper Mythicalaen Elemental Dragon, Mae'Hiokaeia Ra'lu(P)


Generation: F1
Name: Def'Moukaian Ra'lu
Gender: Male
Colours: Copper/Carnelian
Species: Mythicalaen Elemental/Kilamdiry Mutt
Abilities: Metal Sense, Stealth Magic, Psionics (Telepathy)
Breeding Notes: (Can only be bred with P, F1, or F2 generations.)
Has a genetic code based off of Mythicalaen Metal dragons, but this isn't required for future breedings.
-Genetic code:
R1[R1]: Primary colour is red
Y2[R1]: Secondary colour is orange
Rm[Rg]: Tertiary colour is red; 'm' means body will be a metallic shade of the above colours, so red would be copper, and orange would be brass. 'g' means a gem-tone of the above colours, so red would be ruby, and orange would be carnelian.
MP[mg]: Primary colour is metallic, and is dominant. 'mg' is a filler for 'gem toned' in each of the three categories.
ms*[mg]: Secondary colour is capable of showing (Whereas MSms* would mean that only the primary colour shows through.)
MA[mg]: Tertiary colour is not visible, masked by the primary colour. (MP is dominant over MA.)
-Naming structure: First three letters are taken from bond. Middle eight letters are random and are 'call name'. Last name is inherited from mother.
-Bonding: Does not require a bond at birth, as full-blood Mythicalaen Elemental dragons do, but will need to leech energy from those around him to survive. Half-Mythicalaen Elemental dragons are much weaker with their abilities if they don't bond, and those who do bond (they may bond later in life) will absorb their bond's strongest talent, magical or otherwise. At this point they'll be much stronger.

We could start a database if you guys are interested, or just post images of our examples up in this thread as we go!

Would the agreement then be that these sketch-dragons can breed outside the project as well as within the project? I think this sounds super cool and sketches are something I might actually be able to do.

I think that would depend on the specific dragon; some people might wish to say that the sketch-versions are for this project only, whereas they might draw a finished-looking clutch if they wanted others to have one to use in outside projects?
