Revival of the You Walk Into a Weyr clutch

I'd like to get that clutch out of Dragonhope in the hopes that maybe more pernese stories will be written...

Is the current page and is out of date, because there are a batch of candidates who've been lost to the void of the Net. I won't be trying to locate their owners, it's pretty past time they could have said where they've got to. Also probably I'll put naeodin's on hold but reserve a dragon, since I'm not certain she'd be coming to pick it up.

However!

In the interests of getting SOME candidates out of this, from folks who aren't usually the writing types, I am going to make a generator for "you walk into" which can then be used to start up characters. (And of course, could be used for any other thing under the sun if you like, I always have fun making them.)

I am going to put the generator up as soon as it's finished (I have not started yet but I realized I'd want to make one yesterday). So, watch this spot

Or, if you're in the mood to just write up something, please post the candidate here instead of sending it to the email there. It's far easier for me to keep track of things here.

*And if anyone needs a dragon left over from the old clutches, I know there's one or two I haven't probably updated yet... just ask and I'll put it here instead.*

The basic rules will remain the same, however - please include the tried and truly cheezy line, "you walk into a weyr" or some close variant on it. Must be Weyr, though - no dens or other such things, this IS pern.

Aside from that, your character can pretty much run the gamut from silly to stupendous. Warn me ahead of time

Here's my little generator. I hope it does something toward getting a bit of interest in this so I can get those dragons (they are FIRST run Talor dragons, not the veryvery oldest but the earliest ones I have, this is 'retro' remember...) out onto pages.

Hmm.. flipping through the generator, I got a few ideas. I might take a couple moments to write a few candidates up today, since the requirements are so... eh..

Right, I'm glad there is lots of spaces... My four "green" girls, have now got four "blue" boys to match (and the random generater rocks, such characters...) and I've also got ideas for a most-cheesy-story-ever, that will [hopefully] write as funny as I think it is in my head... Do you have any "ranking" rider's (mum or dad, or both) free that you might like to see have a little 4'10" 16yo red haired HAD son? Who, in my head, his parent's always wanted to grow up and ride a bronze and become a Weyrleader (etc)... but it's just never gunna happen cause he's to hyper and little and such?

I can create parents for him if not, but I just thought it might be more fun if he was at his home weyr, driving his parent's insane cause he's so not what they wanted?

I probably do, given how many people I've already got. If I can't come up with one from Dragonhope, I can doubtless produce a pair from the Blackstone/Dawnlight group if you want. They're closely tied (as all Protectorate weyrs are) even if they're displaced in time from one another (and in this case, living on Alskyr but they could be from before they moved, too).

Hell they might even just send him back in time or something. And, silly enough, their names are extremely similar.

Wow. I totally remember this when you first proposed the idea.

Mmm-- Sahika is/was my candidate but I don't have any intention on bringing her back so definitely, please take her off the list. xD If I do find the inspiration/time to write a corny piece for her, I'll just resubmit an application.

I remember back when I googled 'When you walk into a weyr', there would be pages and pages of results - and now there's only a handful left. D:

This clutch makes me remember why I loved reading the Pern books so much. The temptation to attempt making candidates for this clutch is rising. xD
