Oran sighed and flicked idly at the book in front of him, the ridge of feathers at the top of his head raising and lowering and the feathers at the tips of his ears dancing around as he twisted his ears around. Life at the Lab was boring. He wasn't allowed to leave because he hadn't fulfilled his duties yet, but he had no desire to mate with any of the lovely females his 'master' had brought in for him and his 'master' could hardly force him to fulfill that 'duty'.

Sometimes Oran considered running away, but he knew he'd never get far if he tried and besides, despite how secretive his 'master' was, he was learning a lot. The genetic information stored in this place was amazing and Oran found it fascinating. One of these times his 'master' left he was determined to break into the lab and conduct an experiment of his own.

"Oran, what are you reading?" came an angry call from the lab door.

"A book, Master."

The voice that answered him was tight with frustration, but oddly resigned as well. "Very well. I'm going to be gone for the New Year celebrations. I expect you to stay out of trouble while I'm gone."

"Yes, Master."

Oran continued reading as he listened to the sound of the lab door locking and then the sound of his 'master' leaving. A grin spread across his face as he used his psionic powers to quest out, finding himself very much alone. His 'master' had always underestimated the power of his Gesture Magic, scorning him for the use of gestures instead of thoughts and he grinned at the irony as he easily gestured the locked lab door open.

"This is going to be fun," he said to himself, a childish grin spreading across his face, gesturing about the room so that cabinets opened and books came off the shelves and fell open to the places he wanted them.

So, Oran's project has created some very interesting dragons. And as his experiment was done without permission he needs to get these dragons out of the lab before his 'master' returns from his New Year's Celebration!

All you need in order to get one is a character with a plausible reason for being in the wilds of Kilandaia. This can be a previously created character who happens upon Kilandaia or a new character that lives on Kilandaia (if you need more information about Kilandaia let me know, there are many species of creature on Kilandaia that you could turn into a character). No story is required, though if you want to write one, feel free. The laboratory is out in the middle of nowhere, far away from all of the Goprin cities so unless your character can somehow sense the place they're going to have to get lost in the wilderness in order to find it. :3

Reason for being in the Kilandaian wilderness: Well the story is still being written since I really want to bond these old sponsored dragons. I'll have it done by the end of the day. Since I haven't heard from kekoath in a long time and Calyeni seems to have disbanded i can only presume he went on a crazy hitchhiking tour of the galaxy and is currently passing through Kilandaia.
And I might need a little bit of info on the surroundings ^^ (or I can just have him fly over plains lamenting on the lack of trees :p)

Reason for being in the Kilandaian wilderness: He's a Seeker and a powerful psionic. He can end up pretty much anywhere circumstances require him to be for anything. XD ETA: Which is to say it's the job description to be wandering here there and everywhere in the worlds, and being able to sense a gathering of minds--or even just the lone, isolated mind of Oran--would draw him to investigate.

Reason for being in the Kilandaian wilderness: He's quite the realm-walker, and (historically) Lliyani's portal system is sometimes a little.. off. Meaning the portals could drop anyone just about anywhere. Personality: Sanarus could be considered an intellect of sorts. He prefers research to socializing, and has only a few close friends.....which is fine by him. Also, unlike most Dalshari, who are most comfortable in the water, Sanarus is just as at home on land, and spends his time wherever his studies take him the most.
Reason for being in the Kilandaian wilderness: Sanarus studies plants of all kinds. He is considered an expert on many flora species found on Kynn, and has since been making offworld jaunts to further his own knowledge. And wandering around a forest in Kilandaia seems like a fine idea to him...

Species Info (If you're curious..): Dalshari are a primarily aquatic species found on Kynn that some relate to 'Merfolk'. They appear relatively human from the waist up, though they sport small fins along their arms and ears, as well as a fin-like crest along their head. Dalshari are covered in hundreds of small scales, much like a fish, ranging in reflective colors across the spectrum, tending towards cooler colors. From the waist down, Dalshari sport a large, flexible tail, speckled with smaller fins and a larger ridge along the back. They move through the water in a manner similar to a dolphin.
Dalshari can process oxygen from both air and water. They can morph their tails when they encounter land, allowing them to walk as the land species can. Dalshari often wear adornments of shells and other items, and do consent to wearing clothing while on land. <_<

Abilities: Does incredible luck count? He's mostly helpless in the abilities department, but he's a brilliant strategist and has a "touch" of Wild Magic due to his heritage
Personality: A scatterbrain and a truly hopeless case in all respects, Ladren is often so lost within himself that a bomb could go off nearby and he'd never notice. It doesn't help that he's part of some pretty heavy quantum mechanics research that encourages that 'lost within thought' complex, so long as he can prove his theories sound and useful. Scatterbrain aside, Ladren has a soft spot for cute fluffies, and is owned by two cats (who came along - someone has to keep him out of trouble, after all! Besides, who better to watch over a user of Wild Magic than the masters themselves?) named Malik and Queen. Outside of work, he's pleasant, some might say charming, though he has an unusual propensity for dangerous activities like rock climbing, sky diving, and swimming with sharks (along with testing untried theories out by himself, with no backup, on himself...), all of which he's managed to get into and out of without serious injury, and all of which have kept him in shape, unlike most of his collegues. He has grand visions and dreams, most of which involve using his research for "good", though he's never been able to actually define "good" to himself or to others. Ladren despises politics, and avoids it like the plague, same with beaurocracy, backbiting, bribes, and jockying for position. This hasn't made him any friends, and sometimes (in his moments of lucidity between research and death-defying stunts) he despairs that no one will care if he vanishes, outside of his cats and his lab-mates.

Okay, so I got sidetracked...but I guess no one else wanted in on this so...here we go:

Oran watched his creations shaking within their shells, a grin spreading across his face as one of the shells cracked and a claw could be clearly seen scratching at the rapidly widening crack.

In a few short moments there were thirteen little hatchlings scurrying about in the warm sands of the incubator. Well, they were little compared to him, anyways, the smallest being about the size of a cougar, though they were obviously going to be serpentine as they grew.

He watched them all scrabbling around and trying out their voices and suddenly realized he was in big trouble. His 'master' would be home in a few days and he had thirteen little hatchlings running around the place. One he might be able to conceal until it was old enough to take care of itself, but thirteen? He had to find some way to get rid of them.

Two days later when the hatchlings had figured out how to walk without tripping over their own tails and necks, he ushered them out of the complex and into the forest behind the lab. Questing out with his mind he was surprised to find several minds in the vicinity, or at least near enough that he might be able to find them while still keeping the rambunctious youngsters from straying too far.

So he zeroed in on the closest one and headed off, hoping whoever he came across would be interested in taking in one of his little creations.

Species is Genetically Engineered Mutt... There are too many different breeds in there to identify them all... XD

And Gesture Magic is the ability to work magic using gestures. Head, hands, feet...the really skilled can use their tail as well.

If any of you are planning to write stories for these kids and need info about Kilandaia, please contact me directly (PM or email) and I'll fill you all in. If enough of you ask it might actually get me to get off my tail and put the info up on my site... XD
