Pickup 20R is closed, and has been updated!

There aren't any new clutches to replace the latest at the moment; figured that I'd take a bit of a break in between to get the site up to speed. :)

The 'made of fire' thing came from KTFE way back down the line. When I realized that somehow that managed to slip into the batch I had to keep it just in the event that it shows up more often. >:D So awesome!

In preparation for transferring some BWR dragons to deviantart (in hopes of getting some dragons re-homed, and in hopes of luring some newbies our way!) I've been going through my records and sussing out dead links.

I'm fairly certain that Cy, Ty, and Astra are gone pretty much for good (if any of you three come back, or are around but lurking, please let me know if you still want your BWR dragons; their cybernetic lives hang in the balance!)

There are a few links that aren't working that I'm fairly certain are just due to geocities/artdragon failures, so I'm going to be putting up a list. Mostly, I'm just having trouble finding re-paged dragons from Kitsuneko and JKatkina's hive-critters. Of the former, I can find the images just fine in the freehostia site, and I know that JKat is in her crazy-school-semester phase, so I'm not too worried.

I am going to put up a 'warning' or 'abandoned' sign next to the ones that are missing links in my records, however, I'm going to double-check that I haven't added any of them to the graveyard or to re-adopt from DA. If you guys could toss me links to those that are down, though (and I'll make a list once I'm caught up!) I would be extremely grateful!

I'm pretty sure Ty comes around to lurk every once in a while, though you might want to see if she's got any progress on her internet presence.

I may try and pick up one or two of the generations that I missed out on, from the graveyard. but then I'm going to be a bit distracted by real life...

Yeah, but I had the geocities page link. X3 When you moved everything, the links changed in such a way that it's pretty tricky to find the new one without looking through all of the different folders!

And a further update: After trawling through both my images folder on freehostia and past posts on this thread, I can confirm that Schoidumi (15R) and Oja (15W) are mine as well, and were paged before geocities went down. Unfortunately, reocities didn't save those pages, so I'm still tracking down info.

A few other clutches look really familiar (I could have sworn I had one of 21B, for example), but I haven't located any other dragons, and some of them were probably Birthday gifts using those templates.

Yeah, for some reason I had the old versions of some of the pickup pages saved (perhaps I had overwritten some of the files?) so that they don't have the names of the owners. I'm working on resolving that, but in the meantime, if those two are yours, I definitely don't mind if they get repaged!

I'm not sure about 21B; I don't usually change the names in the pickup page unless they've been readopted, but if you can find an image that you've saved, just let me know! That whole clutch was a bit FUBAR because I had taken a break part-ways through.

eta: Yakima, I had the 404's and I noticed that you had the links to 'em in your database, but the fact that they don't currently go anywhere was what I was worried about! X3 Thanks for Criio, though! I'll have that link added right quick.

Well, at least you knew where they would be. lol XD And that I hadn't forgotten about them if they were in the database. heehe...Avcri is the only one i missed oddly...

On another note, all but Avcri should be working...I have to find Avaya's old page...or make up new info which I dun wanna do. lol

And...uh...why is Criio in the Graveyard? I'm assuming it's a mistake? XD

EDIT: Um...I changed Moren's link to /moren.html instead of /morenmero.html...sorry...I was indecisive but I kept looking for 'moren' and not 'morenmero' in the folder so...yeah...

Criio in the Graveyard was a mistake! XD I had been going through at first and taking any 404 and moving it over, then I figured that that was silly because some of you guys are still around! I just haven't gotten around to fixing up the Graveyard yet; once I've gotten around to adding everyone properly, I will let you know, though!

Ack, I keep forgetting that I have some dragons due for you. Sigh. I got some writing books as a late xmas present and have been playing around with them for the past couple days ^^;; no real excuse, but hey. I'll see about getting them up soonish.

Holly Lisle's Writing Clinic books (Character, Plot, Language, and Culture) and her "How to write page turning scenes" book -- they're all pdfs. I'm actually having a lot of fun going through the "Language clinic" book right now, making up a language and the rules that go with it. ^^

I have updated the Bower Records Page to make the signs for 'abandoned' and 'warning' more clear and a bit nicer to look at. I have also moved some old 'Warning' dragons into the 'Abandoned' category. The latest '(W)' dragons are those that I've given folks months, if not a year to page, so they're pretty much at warning stage simply as a courtesy thing. For clarification:

(W) = Warning = I don't have a link for your dragon, either because you haven't paged it yet, or the page link has gone missing. The next time that I do a sweep for links across the Bower record page, your dragon will be moved into the (A) category. There will be at least two weeks leeway between link sweeps, with, usually, a much larger margin. If you see a dragon of yours that is in the (W) category, toss me a fresh link by way of reply to this thread, PM, or email -- dracothrope at gmail.com. I'll update your dragon's link and take down the warning sign.
(A) = Abandoned = Your dragon hasn't had a link for some time. Either you never paged it, or the page has gone down for whatever reason and I can't find where you've moved it to. The dragon is up for grabs and anyone can claim it, though you, as the owner, can just as easily toss me a link to have the (A) status pulled.
(RH) = The dragon has been rehomed, meaning that someone else has successfully applied for your dragon while it was under the (A) category and paged it. At this point, you may not lay claim to the image any more, as it's been passed on to another person. (Dragons can slip from (RH) back to (W) and (A) repeatedly, depending on if the new person's links stop working, too.)

I have pickup pages 1-6, and 15(R)-22(B) up to date, though there is a good chunk that I haven't yet updated to fit the current layout. I apologize for that, if you're looking for your image or the dragon's info! I'll try to have them all up to date, but it's time consuming work. Toss me a note if you need something and it's not in the current pages.

The Graveyard is getting a slow revamp. Currently, 'Tomb of the Dead' is what I've been focused on -- though having to revamp each pickup page has bogged me down a bit. Abandoned dragons from the first six clutches are listed in a complete way, though you may have to skim the records page if you want to see abandoned dragons from later clutches, as the rest is not yet up to date. I'd like to revamp the re-adoption system so that it's a little easier to fathom from my end (and hopefully from the viewpoint of others!) as it seems a bit clunky right now! I'll try to have that all up to date soon, too.

Speaking of which, there are a heck of a lot of abandoned dragons. Most, you can track down the owners of via the records page, by clicking on the pickup page for each specific clutch. If you have any doubts or concerns, feel free to let me know. I'm more than happy to give dragons back to people whose pages were eaten over the years. I'm just also leaving them open to new or active users in case old users are gone for good and new users want some retro BWR dragons.

TL;DR: doing some basic much needed maintenance to the Bower website, some dragons you might want to make note of as being close to abandoned, otherwise nothing new.

Heh, don't worry about it. I think I've moved it around several times for random reasons that all boiled down to various attempts at organization.
