Oh absolutely true. I *hate* .... that modern crap, anything that doesn't actually *look* like something. No offense to anyone who likes/creates it, but if it looks like a chimpanzee shat something and smeared it around, it's still not art to me.

False, though I /do/ hate it when cover artists get it wrong. I haven't gone insane over the Elvenbane Chronicles or Dragonriders of Pern, though. I know that if I was an author, I'd go insane. 'MY PRETTIES MUST BE RIGHT!'

Yeah, but my mom treats me like a slave (control freak/possible munchausen??) anyway, and stands over me while I do them to make sure every dish goes in every specific spot and mentally abuses me if I don't put it in perfectly :/ [/rant]
