I ran home for a quick lunch today to find Kayo drawing in some books. Fortunately, they were old textbooks and not ones with sentimental value, but I still had to admonish the little guy. I took the crayons away and explained that drawing in books is wrong and comforted him when he started crying. He was very sorry. (Tomorrow, I'll give him a coloring book and explain the difference...)

Seriously? Crux is may present himself as "uncontrolled and destructive", but really, he's intentionally troublesome. He knows what he's doing, and he's doing it on purpose.
I would have to describe Calon as many layered. He's very observant, very helpful, and able to take care of himself. And that's only the top of the list!

Uncontrolled and destructive - oh heavens no.
Very observant - this, all his life Mookey's been a watcher before being a do-er.
Very helpful - .... yeah, I suppose.
Able to take care of itself - very much so, though he's not "wholly independent" beacuse he loves being around his select friends.
Flexible but incredibly strong willed - if I had to choose one among all these, this would be it. Mookey is full of confidence and intelligence, talent and willpower. But he's able to adjust his mood to suit his surroundings.
Faithful - meh, perhaps to his macaroni fort...

Turien seemed to actually be enjoying himself out there, in front of everyone, when we had a localized talent show for the young ones that were around. Though he really appealed to the judges with great showmanship when he tried the knife juggling thing. I did make sure they were dulled, though. He wanted to use fire and really make an impression... I think not!
As for Mercutio? He was intent to win. So he made up this gigantic science experiment thing utilizing hydropower electricity and the like. He also studied his competition more than anything, trying to figure out their weak points. I wondered if he was going to try to cheat, but I was surprised when he didn't... and it looked like he was going to win. Until his project blew up.

Initially I start to reprimand him, but he seems so terribly distraught by my anger that I force myself to calm down. As poor Lucian is shaking from guilt, I calmly explain him why he oughtn't go knocking over my mother's favorite Chinese vase, and that it's understandable he wouldn't know if it's wrong. However, he seems to understand that I might not be quite so forgiving if he purposefully does the same thing in the future.

I came home to a very bad little didra gon yesterday. Apparently, since his oldest brother is away, Zebulon wanted to hang out with his middle brother Cyli and buddies. Cyli, being the... temperamental creature that he is, told Zeb no. When Cyli and his buddies went for a quick run around the block (Cyli has been on a health kick lately... I think he wants to turn into a fighting machine or something), Zeb took the time to tear down all Cyli's posters, drawing on some of them, and tearing up the others.
I had to explain why this was wrong to Zeb. Little guy burst into tears, telling me that he just wanted to be included, and that Cyli had been drooling over the bikini clad women in the pictures (I don't like them, but if Cyli keeps them out of my line of vision, I've not been able to tell him no.) Zeb couldn't understand why they were more important to Cyli that his own little brother was. We ended up curled up on the sofa together, me cuddling Zeb while I explained the problem, and comforted him.

As I mentioned above, Cyli has been really getting into martial arts and boxing lately, especially ken-po and jiu-jitsu. He finished paying off the mess he made at the apartment, and has been paying for lessons. The dojo was having a tournament, and Cyli was all excited to enter. (I'm really not sure that letting my little bully-child do martial arts is good for him...)
Yeah. I'm out in the audience, and the next thing I hear, the ref is calling Cyli out for cheating! Apparently, he was fighting dirty, and trying to hide it! I'm relaly kind of embarrassed.

Taeresi has really grown up. He started getting a backbone after one of his friends continually 'crapped' on him, dropping him for another friend at the last minute, more times than I can count, when he was a tier 1-2. He didn't lose his ability to be flexible, but he's become strong-willed in standing up for himself. Being a police-gon had really helped him. He knows what's right; he sticks to it, no matter what. He is flexible when he goes out with his buddies now, but when it comes to right and wrong, he's very strong in his beliefs.

She denied doing so, but I found him stashed under where she sleeps and had to reprimand them verbally and ask her to take some time to think over why, exactly, I was upset. Darcy looked hurt at first that I'd caught her doing something wrong and hadn't immediately forgiven her, but lying isn't something I stand for in these sorts of situations. She was doing fine, if sulking at me, by dinner.
The next day, we visited the county faire, and the 'Gons entered themselves into the contests. Or rather, Cineris entered everyone's name, and then they had to cope.
Snowfall just went with the flow, sine she wasn't paying enough attention to care to do much else. She was in some sort of jump-rope contest, and once or twice she just stayed floating over the rope instead of bothering to keep jumping.
RK got Cineris trapped underneath him right before Cineris needed to go on stage. When I asked him to let the poor guy go, RK gave me a supremely disgusted look, and then stalked off to find Snowfall. Darcy giggled like a demented chimpanzee in my arms, and Cineris brushed off and scampered up on stage. He then unabashedly cheated, but with such flair the judges had no notice. RK watched silently from the side, studying the challenge with an intensity that was almost frightening, disappearing for a while to practice, then walking regally on stage and stealing the show from a complaining and gobsmacked Cineris.

Some days, Talois doesn't find the right outlet for all of his creative energy and doesn't respond to a quieter prompt to cut it the heck out! I have to yelp at him to get his attention before he pulls furniture down or rips the curtains trying to climb them. On days like these we promptly go out to get rid of the excess energy. (or try to!!!)
The occasional shout toward Talois disturbs Zod. Zod is more of a people pleaser. I had to explain to him why exactly you shouldn't leave tools out on the floor to be stepped on. He was so remorseful that he really needed a hug and assurance that everything was still OKAY between us. He even put a band-aid on my "owie."

I thought today would be a nice day to water the plants after finishing my morning errands. I heard squealing and the patter of wet pawsteps not long after I put the hose away, and to my dismay, I soon found Sol and Luna chasing each other around the dining room with the garden hose!
I raised my voice to stop them, and Sol just about froze in shock. He apologized profusely for the mess, stuttering and whimpering. I don't think he's ever seen me angry. We had a small talk as soon as I cleaned up the worst of the water, and afterward he just wanted me to sit and read to him.
Luna hardly appeared fazed after being scolded. I could almost believe he was more embarrassed by his older brother than at all apologetic. He didn't seem quite his enthusiastic self when playing outside though, but he did make a grand show of drying his paws before coming back into the house.

Kamajii? Naughty? I can’t even imagine that happening! He’s such a little old man of a ‘Gon, you know? X3 But I suppose if it so happened, I’d just explain what he did wrong. Only way I can see him doing something wrong is by accident.
Tier 1: Kaonashi
If Kaonashi ever came up with the courage to enter a contest, he’d appeal to the judges with great showmanship. You know, since he’d just want their attention and approval, even if he couldn’t win, he’d be happy earning their praise just by trying hard.
Tier 1: Chihiro
Now, little Chihiro on the other hand, she’d go about things by means of careful study of the challenge and intense practice. Now that the rest of us would see her going about it. I doubt she wants us to know she cares just yet. ;)

Tier 1: Niiro may have evolved, but his habits have remained the same. Nobody wants someone like Niiro on their team but everyone wants him as an opponent because he never does anything. He doesn't really enjoy competing anyways, he's a very passive individual - in the sense that he thinks we should all get along and help one another rather than find new ways to get mad at or hurt one another, not just because he never participates.

Tier 2: If the fact that Chistery can't really be arsed to get off of his, well, arse and do anything makes him mellow, then he's your man. He does like to stick with the general consensus, whether that's because he doesn't want to put up the effort to form his own opinion or because he likes to be in agreement with everyone, I don't know.

What is Kiryu but uncontrolled and destructive? He's constantly reminding me that he's his OWN Didra Gon and I can't CONTROL HIM (while painting his claws black with a vis-a-vis marker and checking his mascara) and he still loves to kill and dissect various small animals. Were he to find something that captivates his interest more than dissection and rebellion does, we might have a powerful force on our hands.
