(( Yakima, so sorry, I mis-read your post! Speaking of which, I had asked if folks could roll a d20 with each action! I'd be very happy if you could add a result for each of your characters if they're attacking or trying to heal, etc!)) Not only did the darkly-sparkling metal of the blade cause the facehugger to release Jarel, it made it fall limp to the ground, thank goodness. The creature twitched once, though it wasn't quite dead yet; if they /really/ wanted, they could even keep it as a pet...

It was very unfortunate that, distracted by the nasty bug, they didn't notice a deeply glistening red-armored Warrior sneaking up on them. Only when it had pounced Kesukiath (5 damage to Kesu! the warrior rolled a natural 20!) did they realize what danger was upon them!

...I'm going to withdraw Dray. No matter what I do I can't get in and it's no fun like this. :( I'll try again next week though I'm not sure if I'll use these three again or just switch to Philippe. I might just stick with them because Philippe would look pretty weak considering I know what he can do. Heh. I tried to make stats for him but it didn't work.

Truthfully I think it's the chat room and it's too busy to let me connect so while this is going on their is no chance for me to get in. I was really looking forward to it, too. *sigh*

D'oh, okay, I'm sorry about not being able to get in! It's strange that it's not letting you in; haven't heard about the member cap thing. Next week will hopefully be better!

FOR THE RECORD...

StarFyre totally wins VS ENTIRE ENEMY HIVE

Full details to be posted a bit later tonight, after the log is cleaned up and posted, but I will say this much: The Song That Never Ends went out over hivemind communications. From one of my characters.

I'll have the points and stuff up tomorrow to let you know where you stand! Tonight, I sleep the dreamless sleep of the cross-eyed DM.

Next week, we should see if we can figure out why Yakima couldn't get in, and try to fix it. I wound up doing okay with everyone in one room, and think that for next week I'll keep that system instead of having new rooms for everyone. What with the upcoming plot, I don't want anyone to have to miss anything!

For next week: You may use the same characters (their HP is restored to full and they keep any items they might have found) or you can start with new characters -- if you start with new ones, please have their stats posted by 4:30pm -7GMT, so that I can go through and double-check abilities and how they work!

RP log is now posted, and boy is it a long one =P http://www.silveredmagic.com/nexus/nexusrp004.html

For all of you who missed it, I _highly_ suggest reading the ending, for it is hy-lair-ee-us. I actually laughed so hard I was crying. And couldn't breathe. It was great.

And, Dray? You can say that I should head to lower levels to get more facehuggers all you want.. you know that after what Rohe did, you're going to have to use the High Risk chart no matter where I go. =P

I still can't get into chat...Xalia, is their something you can reset or something that might be blocking me. This is very weird (and I'm really ticked for missing it all *cries*).

There shouldn't be anything that's blocking you, Yakima... I rehashed it though...hopefully that was all it needed?

I also made a few changes to the chat so everyone make sure you refresh if you don't see a new title at the top of the page... :)

Yakima, have you tried using a different browser? Are you using Explorer? Maybe Firefox or GoogleChrome or Opera or something would allow you where Explorer isn't? I'm trying to think of other reasons that you might not be getting in... have you tried hard-refreshing, or clearing your cache? Those are the only other two things that I can think of to suggest!

Next week, there will be plot -- it may or may not involve Rohe getting airlocked. XD I'm also making the warriors and drones more difficult by a little bit, so they should be able to hit the humans of the party, at least!

Something that I kept forgetting about: acid damage when bloodying a creature. I'm going to try to remember that for next week, but since so many of you were one-hit KOing the bigger guys, there wasn't much opportunity! XD

If you guys are using health packs etc. I'd like to see it in the post, even if mentioned briefly. Same as for letting me know if anyone is bloodied.

I'll be working on the templates today, and will be putting up a point tally for everyone who's killed.

So, next week will be the finale to this particular 'campaign', and the week after, I believe that StarFyre may be hosting a party-like, freestyle environment to play around in.

Thanks for turning up last night; I had a lot of fun and you guys managed to crack me up more than once. I missed out a bit on the OOC side of things but the plot to make Myrsilk-sized drones is awesome... and my template is actually large enough that if you want a HUGE IMAGE, I can do that. >: D

Noooo! My precious, pretty green hyperactive warrior! =P To be fair, though, ICly, I don't think Snaedis would complain much... except to note that she's now down a teammember.

Unless people have complaints, sure thing. I'll get started on actually getting Aleva's colored and up and the area fleshed out some in a place that's not just my head. Though my head is a wonderful place, I don't think y'all want to visit it in its native state =P

For anyone wanting a Myrsilk to burst from, pick your color-poison and it shall be provided. Also, Dray, if you want me to work coloring-magic on the xeno-image to make the colors prettified like I do with the Myrsilk, I'm cool with that too.

Loot

Here's the loot from last night! For items found, you have permission to bring 'em on other dungeon crawls, and they may be swapped between characters. Points are attached to characters and can't be traded with others -- however you have permission to carry the points over to other dungeon crawls if the same character participates in those!
**Since Phe isn't allowing her templates to be altered, if you have points tacked to a phe-drawn image, you may transfer them out to another dungeon-crawling character!

Shard:
Warrior, Image
One Medpack (+10HP) (Kalkin)
One high-tech map that gives the outlines of nearby surfaces, and marks in different-coloured pips where friends and foes can be found in proximity. Can be tuned to find more than just xenodragons, however it is currently set to that task. (Kalkin)
Points: 0

Yakima:
Points: 2 (.6 per character)

StarFyre:
Warrior, Image
Warrior, Image
Burstling, Image
Burstling, Image
Facehugger, Image
One heavy silver chain with a glass-like orb that reflects and amplifies its wearers magic (+2 Magic) (Penopir)
One set of golden claw sheaths set with yellow, orange and red stones that adds fire damage on attacks (+2 Fire Damage) (Rohegukess)
Points: 4 (1.25 per character)

Airy:
Warrior, Image
Points: 5 (1.6 per character)

Jess:
Facehugger, Image
Points: 5 (1.6 per character)

Phoenix:
Burstling, Image
Burstling, Image
One bloodied, partially broken Yautjadragon throwing star (Rhakarndi)
Points: 6 (3 per character -- counting the facehugger despite the last post because the one before THAT would have had it killed!)

JKatkina:
One Adrenaline Shot (+5HP) (Terra)
Points: 14 (4.6 per character)

Xalia:
One gold forearm gauntlet, human-sized, inscribed with a red cross and several alchemical symbols (Heals 1d6 per use)
Points: 15 (7.5 per character)

Paging
There's no deadline for paging these guys (they're not shaded yet, eep!)

Warriors and Drones are standard 'page the dragon, own the dragon'.
Burstlings: once paged, I will make up their adult stage depending on what kind of personality you give 'em.
Facehuggers: Facehuggers go on a page with whatever dragon or creature you want to burst. If you're uncomfortable with using an unpaged dragon, you can submit a random character of your choice. Humans will always produce black or dark brown bursters, dragons will produce bursters with darker versions of their own bodies. Once bursters are paged, adults will be given based upon their personalities.

Points
I'm putting a curve on the points system since there were considerably less critters killed. The numbers may change over time depending on how the system gets refined, but for the next week, this is how things stand:

Minor Token Prizes
2 points each: Smaller tattoos, small jewelry like bracelets or necklaces, and other little changes to a template.

Moderate Token Prizes
5 points each: Larger tattoos, metallic filigree attached to the body (metallic tattoos), glowing wire attached to the body (glowing tattoos), more complicated jewelry, cosmetic changes such as horns, spikes, piercings, claws, fangs, etc. Custom cyborware or alterations to an image may be offered, including be-spelled alterations that will offer a boost to stats for future dungeon crawls.

Major Token Prizes
10 points each: Heavy tattoos in the regular fashion, glowing wire or metallic filigree; armor in silver, gold, white or black; cybornetic body additions such as tail extensions/additions, hover packs, extra limbs (all in the same colours as the armor!); Bespelled, stats-boosting armor in silver; A redrawn image by Dray of one of the participating characters (dragon or human); a dragon template image of your choice; Other heavily modified alterations (ask!)

OMG Token Prizes
20 points each: A redrawn image by Dray including a Major Token prize; a template of your choice in .psd format including shading and 2 patterns (these may be a redraw of your species, or a mated pair's offspring)

Alterable Templates:
Allowed
Dray drawn dragons
Starfyre drawn dragons
Yakima drawn dragons
JKatkina drawn dragons
Xalia drawn dragons
Jess drawn dragons
Kitsuneko drawn dragons
Aireona drawn dragons
Shard drawn dragons

Allowed with some warnings
Dray drawn xenodragons (No invasive cyborware like grafts, tattoos, etc.)
Humans and characters that don't images (must have enough points for a 'character redraw' prize!)
DF's recently drawn dragons
Phoenix's Unblooded Yautjadragons will recieve Blooded & Armored images

Not Allowed
Dragon images drawn by other Nexus members not listed above

Alterations may include those items that you found during the dungeon crawl, if you want your character to be wearing 'em all the time! I'll probably keep the same reward system for next week, as well, if you guys would like to save them for something bigger; if you do other dungeon crawls with the same characters and earn more points, you can also come back to me later on. ^_^

Wow. All the other captures are so muted and subdued and then suddenly OH DEAR GOD IT'S SO VERY PINK. XD

What was the link to that random color site you were using, again? It was awesome!

Here's that random colour site... I agree, everything it picks is pretty great, if only because you don't have to take the saturated version of that colour. XD

Phe, I've noticed that everyone who got a lot of points has characters whose templates you drew, so I should ask, would you be okay with having them receive alterations due to tokens? Seeing as how many of them are Yautjadragons, they should probably be blooded first so that their image is up to date, if you were keen on that.

o.o Can you double check this, Dray? I could have sworn last night you tallied my points at 19 (9.5 per character)... I hate to be a stickler, especially because Yautjadragons shun cyborware and I'll probably never use the points for anything... XD ...I just wondered which was correct... :)

That makes me the odd one out. I do not want any images I've done to be altered, sorry. ^^; Maybe you could add in a clause allowing points to be transferred from images of mine?

okay, well, i won't be able to join next monday anyway because I have to work 4-11ish.....grrrr....at least I got sunday off for my trail ride. So don't worry about it I guess. *sigh* I'm going to talk to the boss and see if I can go back to my old shifts. I don't like these (and I'm loosing more and more hours each week, it seems).

on a 'happier' note, my iBook is alive again. *is typing this from it* As much as I hate it I was oh so happy to hear it start up. It may be an out-of-date POS as far as I'm concerned, but I have my graphic designing stuff back. *hugs adobe illustrator and photoshop and indesign and...FLASH*

Okay, off to do chores and let this thing finish charging!

Alright, since Gavin's hive has expanded to the realm of ridiculous, I'm gradually moving his crew into a new subfolder. XD He and Gavess (as participants you need linkies to) and the newbies are now here:

http://xenoqueen.deviant-uprising.com/S ... /Gavin.htm

Teal Burster: http://xenoqueen.deviant-uprising.com/S ... oraess.htm
OMGWTFPINK Burster: http://xenoqueen.deviant-uprising.com/S ... alaiss.htm

While paging those, I finally noticed the subtle little color-highlights on their black parts. AWESOME.

UPDATE!: If you didn't participate last week, but want to participate in the dungeon crawl this week, or if you are switching to new characters, PLEASE have their stats finished by the end of tonight! Please include with them, if they are available, any abilities that they have (fire breath, or teleportation, for example!) This way I can go through and confirm them, and add them to my list without interfering with the actual RP time.

NOTE!: If you are playing a yautjadragon, Phe has informed me that they will be blooded regardless of if you play for both nights or just the one. So if you wanted to collect some xenos instead of points, you can still claim the yautjadragon's blooding after last week's gaming. (We can assume, IC, that your yauties are still fighting away in the background, just out of eyesight of the current adventurers!)

I think that's it. If people want to set up a points system in general for gaming, I would be happy to set up a permanent stall of loot to be got with points from various RP nights from my various locations; depends on if we want to make points (sort of like XP but for treats instead of levels) a more common phenomenon.

I should have tried to come up with someone to add, but can't really think of anyone I can just bring in - I realized that my entire party is Phe-drawn criters, so can't get them anything... but if I kill enough, I can pool all the points, and get something from the major or better, correct? (ie - drawn image or template critter, etc, not the modifications, of course)

Yep, you can either get one of the major/etc. bonuses for a character, if it relates (I suppose that if you got an image re-draw of one of your Phe-drawn characters, or other characters drawn by people who haven't given permission to modify, you could then get THAT image modified if you had enough points to spare!)

OR you can hold on to the points and give them to another dungeon crawl character at a later date -- I'm not sure if anyone else will be hosting this style of game soon or not, but I'll keep a list of who has what points available just in case you want to save 'em.

Unless anyone has any huge objections, shall next weeks game be on my turf? Here's the rundown of what I'd be doing:

_____________________________________________________________

It was finally spring in the Southern Kedoal Desert, and the harsh, brutal rains had finally passed. The life-giving Inaira River was at full flood, lapping at the edges of some of the outlying dens. Alevaharin who had been trapped inside their dens for weeks finally emerged, kits prancing at their side at this first real look at the world. Here and there a few tiny, but adult, heads peaked out of much smaller dens - these were the Ale'in, the miniature Alevaharin who often lived alongside their larger kin for the sake of simplicity and mutual assistance. Small, Earth kitten-sized bundles of fuzz and fluff tumbled out of the dens following their Ale'in parents, spreading their tiny, currently useless wings in excitement.

One by one, the adults spread their wings and stretched fully, enjoying the cool temperatures and gentle breeze. Beyond the dens, the desert stretched out, vast and gently rolling. In a day, it would be in full, glorious bloom, a riot of color bright enough to stun the mind. Of course, in a day, a vast Spring Festival would be going on, a riot of sound, music, laughter, and good times, a celebration of freedom, of the start of another cycle of life, of the first true introduction of kitlings to the Pride. It wouldn't end until the flowers did, though work would still be done - hunting and the like - and the height of the celebration would be on the night of the Full Moon, in three days.

With that in mind, hunters split off from the Pride and went out, searching for the great beasts that lurked in river and oasis. It was time for a feast, a festival, and an event for the kits to remember for all time!

Others of the Pride, remembering that the Nexus contained some children of the Pride, went out to spread word about. While the festival was usually just a thing of the Pride... well, the Pride wasn't xenophobic, and the faces of non-Pride members would be a welcome sight, after so long cooped up!

You can bring anyone you like, up to three people. I imagine word would spread around the Nexus relatively quickly, it's just that the Pride's going to the various other Alevas in the Nexus first, because they know them/of them.
