Dray wrote:Beautiful, Phe! ^_^ Did you really outline all of the scales in dark and then in light? Or did you c/v the one set, and invert the black to white? :O That seems like so much work--but it's so cool! X3
Ehehe, the scale-shading is what you call careful use of the Bevel/Emboss filter. X3 I outlined the scales by hand, copied the base color layer, made a selection of the scale outlines, erased the outline-areas on the copied color layer so that each scale was an individual patch of color, deleted the scale outline layer, and applied a small amount of bevel/emboss to the scale-patches. Then I made selections of the shades/highlights and incorporated them into my actual shading/highlight layers. XD Long process, but the results were totally worth it!

Okay, I so totally didn't understand any of that except I agree, the results were totally worth it! :D *L*

I can't wait to see what Synth 09 looks like...if only I didn't have to wait so long! XD

I love the images, absolutely stunning as usual. I had planned to get a candidate to this one too but unfortunately I was busy and only had time to do one for either here or Mirus and I chose Mirus ... I will /definitely/ have a candidate for the cyclops clutch though; i am planning on sending Elano for re-bonding. Wheee.

Quick question, how do we visit the parents of future synths? Everyone keeps talking about hathian hydras but i don't see 'em anywhere. The synth page has said "not accepting applications" for awhile yet the synths keep coming ... what does one have to do to be one of the special secret people to get our draggies synthed by the great Dr. Schroeder himself ... and I guess the other question is any ideas when synths /will/ be open again, or how often? I imagine they have to probably fill pretty fast  Everyone wants Phe-babies.

Heh heh poor Phe ... in a way I'm almost glad I'm not that talented because I'm not sure I could handle rabid fangirls like me following me around  Don't think I'm bugging you to open more synths or anything, I don't have a pair in mind that absolutely needs to be synthed tomorrow or anything, I was just genuinely curious :)

In order to get a synth in you must tempt Phe with a synth she cannot refuse...

All of these Synths are actually a backlog, like how SCD got a backlog and thus had to close applications. Phe's backed up to Synth 10, I think, but after that apps oughta open up again. As for how to get in on it... you have to be really fast, and check the apps page a lot... I remember it was open for all of one day, once, before Myrror snagged the spot XD

As for how to find the parents, go check out the AD Records page. It has links to several future Synths there.

Heh. Upcoming Synths are always visible on the Records page. It's not intuitive, I know, but there they are.

And, uh, yeah... what Xalia said. XD I just happened to be really bad about sticking to applications when people started approaching me with spiffy combos and going "Phe! Look!" And since I really WANTED to do those combos, I went a-poking those people when open slots appeared, rather than making the slots fair game. <_< But since I haven't heard a peep out of Sil, Xalia's synth (09) is the last in the line of pre-set Synths. After that, it's back to applications. X3

Phe for the win! :3

And... I really don't think I followed you through that entire mini-tutorial, but... but yeah, I agree with the end results. XD So long as it looks good, huh? *grin*

And with that note about records posted, I'm going to go look and see what's coming up. ^_^

Alrighty, the info for the hathydra clutch is up now, though until I finish a preview, there's no deadline.

Of more import is the deadline for the cyclops clutch, which, upon reflection, will not be delayed. (I wouldn't want to delay it more than a week, simply due to eagerness/impatience, but a week's delay would put it on a weekend where I visit my Dad, which in the past has been a bit of a hindrance on releasing hatchings.) So if you want a cyclops possibly chameleon baby-

-the deadling for candidates is Feb. 18, 3 a.m. EST. That's the early morning between Friday and Saturday.

Gah, I'm not one for crazies, I think I'll sit this one out, but I can't wait to see what you do with them, Phe! ^^;

Aaand 08 preview. Just a hatchie photo. But the adults could have up to 20 heads! Stories will be of high impact for this clutch-- both pre- and post-hatching writing will help determine how many heads the hatchling has when grown.

Deadline now be the morning between March 31 and April 1st.

Hey, Phe? O.o How do you get something to look like it's glowing without obscuring the ink-work behind it? Most of my BWR guys have had 'glowing blue eyes' for the past several generations, but... I can't seem to get the effect right at all! XD And thusly I haven't been saying anything, since the dragons don't /look/ like their eyes have been glowing, etc....

I remember you saying something for the flaming-skull batch, but I cannae remember. ^^; Would you mind posting a quick refresher?

Got Aomi up. Her page will be under construction in the next few weeks so I didn't link it to the story.

Yaaaay I finished Elano! And it's probably very bad due to me sitting down and grinding the whole thing out in a couple of days and wordpad having no spell check! But I like the story anyway and I hope you do too :)

Without obscuring? O.o Same way you've been doing it; the eyes have looked glowy to me. I do my glows by obscuring the linework, because that's part of what makes it look glowy. When something's really bright, you can't see past it, hence, I do cover the linework.

All the glows are colored on a layer set to Screen and placed above the whole thing.

Also, out of curiosity, are you going to make the hydra/hathian hybrid that you're keeping into a 20-header? *just wondering!*

Heavens, no. XD I prefer my hydras with a lesser head-count. When they start turning into head-balls I just find it weird. ::cackles::
