Lets see - I adore mammilian patterns of fur, then sharks and avians, and especially okapi, loke the okapi for some reason, and that crossed with a clouded leopard would be awesome in light blues and whites...

Color combinations? I adore "seasonal" colors for winter and autumn. Which means cools with light blues, whites, and silvers. Gold can look good on the white. I just love white. Then autumn calls for vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows. Think turning leaves of aspens. I also adore black, which can be harder to work with. I enjoy aesthetically pleasing creatures (to me), and with that utterly unclear statement, then let me say... Not a fan of multiple heads, tails, wings, tongues, or reproductive organs. XD Useless unfitting information.

I am even more impressed by "natural" colorations with whites, blacks, greys, cremes, and such - in this case referencing mammals like equines and wild canines and felines is the best thing ever. Water-baed, reference water mammals, then sharks. I especially love the beluga. Crossed with a narwhale would be awesome!

Also, tattoos and scars! Luvins, luvins!

I do not like pinks. Make a tongue pink, or inside ears, or paws, or noses, but... Not the whole critter. XD Not that I won't love them, I'll just be temporarily blinded, and its hard to see then. ^__~
