"You Walk Into A Weyr" (Inspired by Dray!)

"When you encountered a dragon for the first time, you were: "
Cheering along with the crowd at your first Gather with Dragon Games. Dragons aren't a rare sight where I come from; we live pretty close to the Weyr, so I guess you could say that I've seen 'em all over the place... but the first cognizant memory I have of dragons is this magnificent display where three -- no, five? -- greens overflew the gather grounds letting off canisters of gas in our Hold's colours, before the kickoff of the games. I think I must have been about four at the time but I thought it was so cool!
"You're brought to look at the eggs while the Queen has stepped out for a moment. Looking around at them, you are most likely to have thought:"
How impossible it seemed that such massive creatures had such humble beginnings. I mean really... I've never seen the eggs up close before. I guess I always expected something about them to be more... flashy? Magnificent? Anyways, 'my' egg is definitely the best of the lot, its warm colours remind me of sunrise, kind of like my home Hold's crest. Not to put up any competition or anything; I'm allowed to feel attached, right?

When you encountered a dragon for the first time, you were:
Cheering along with the crowd at your first Gather with Dragon Games. I was about 4 or 5 Turns then, and it was well worth skipping out on hide and seek some of the other holder children. Two of them even landed close by, and I got to scratch the brown's eye ridges! I was so smug that I got to and so few others did, that I bragged about it for two days straight to my brother and sisters.
You're brought to look at the eggs while the Queen has stepped out for a moment. Looking around at them, you are most likely to have thought:
If there will be enough selection with your fellow candidates to prevent any newborn from going immediately Between. It would just kill me to see such an awesome creature creel in utter agony because there is no one to share its life with. In my opinion, no dragon, no matter their rank or size, should never have to go through that...but that's why we're here, huh? *slight nervous giggle, and a light caress to the top of "her" egg* This egg reminds me of a summer sunrise I saw once...*trails off and reminisces silently*

When you encountered a dragon for the first time, you were:
Squinting up at the sky, trying to guess what color dragon was flying over your home. I was maybe eight turns old or so, and it had just flashed out of Between. It was too high to really tell what color it was... Bronze, maybe? Something glimmery. Then again, maybe it was just a really large brown. Who knows?
You're brought to look at the eggs while the Queen has stepped out for a moment. Looking around at them, you are most likely to have thought:
Which egg is going to hatch first, and if it will be bronze or not. It's good luck for a bronze to hatch first! Or, at least, it's supposed to be... and I have 1/16 of a Mark riding on "First hatchling is a bronze!", so let's see how lucky a bronze hatchling really is! On the other hand, I wouldn't mind my egg to hatch first... it's killing me, trying to guess which color it is! After all, with all those little splotches, it's hard to make a guess.

Answers noted, and points awarded! Your egg has not yet hatched, but is very close!
Dracleia:
Something's happening! Your egg's trying to evolve! /bad pokemon reference.
-->
He's a beautiful brown! What is his name?
K. Mythos:
You hear a cracking sound, and startle. It couldn't possibly be... your egg!
-->
A luminous gold! What is her name?

(Answering on the Nexus from now on I think. Much easier for me to keep track of.)
When you encountered a dragon for the first time, you were:
Surprised at the hold where the holder was meeting with several riders of their covering Weyr. I wasn't even supposed to be out at that time, either. I was getting ready to sneak back into the hold when out of nowhere, five humongous dragons appeared out of thin air. One of them was even a Bronze! It was possibly the most exciting thing in my life.
You're brought to look at the eggs while the Queen has stepped out for a moment. Looking around at them, you are most likely to have thought:
If there will be enough selection with your fellow candidates to prevent any newborn from going immediately Between. It would be terrible if there weren't enough candidates.. Even worse if there were, but they just weren't the right ones. What if I wasn't the right one?

Seems like! But who knows. Maybe it was a trader's mark?
Eccentric Birdie:
Answers noted and points awarded. What's this? Scratching sounds are heard coming from your egg!
-->
A gold dragonet has chosen you! She seems awfully hungry! There is no doubt in her mind that you are precisely the right one.
What's her name?

Should we only answer one or the other then? Or, answering both in one place? I wouldn't mind answering everything, I just would rather do it here (aside from I don't like lj, this place is dead enough without more frequent posts lol).

You can go ahead and answer all the questions here in the Nexus. LJ is more habitual for me from keeping in contact with different folks over the years.
So yes! All questions asked in a week, be they on LJ or here at the Nexus, may be answered here at the Nexus. I won't be posting the questions from LJ here, but I will post a link to LJ on Mondays. =)

When you encountered a dragon for the first time, you were:
Half asleep in your caretaker's arms when they paid a visit to the Dragon Harper of the Weyr. I remember my caretaker visiting with the Dragon Harper multiple times... I think they were old friends from Harper Hall.
You're brought to look at the eggs while the Queen has stepped out for a moment. Looking around at them, you are most likely to have thought:
How impossible it seemed that such massive creatures had such humble beginnings. Compared to the great golden Queen, these eggs are tiny. There's a much greater gap between dragon eggs and dragons than there is between any other creature and their baby form, it's breathtaking.

You'll have to wait for Monday's question, or Wednesday of next week. I'll be linking the Nexus to the Monday posting on LJ, so it wouldn't require anything more than checking in here on Monday to get a good go at answering a Stage 1 question. =)eccentricbirdie wrote:So, now that my dragon has hatched, I have to wait for next weeks questions to answer them for stage 1 dragons?
Star Fyre:
D'oh! I even filled in the answers I'd gotten from you for that! And now that I see that, it means...
Your egg gives a shimmy, tilting to the side and crashing down!
-->
Your egg has hatched into a gorgeous blue! He croons and creels his hunger, not just mind-to-mind. What is his name?
I hope your sinus headache goes away soon!
.... I don't know if there are eggs left but I have a brief break at work and am going to answer the questions anyways! Hope springs eternal...

Laugh and joke about what else is going on in the courtyard with the person next to you.

Yey! doing this partially on the nexus makes for joy. :3 thankyou.
You're brought to look at the eggs while the Queen has stepped out for a moment. Looking around at them, you are most likely to have thought:...
That the crack in the wall over by the stands might potentially be a way to sneak back in to find more time with the eggs later. I can't help it-- I see a potentially exploitable path to a means, and I just have to note it away for later. Doubt I'd take advantage of it... I mean, there is a golden queen watching the eggs... but still. Hoorah for potential mischief!

Stage 0:
When you encountered a dragon for the first time, you were:
Half asleep in your caretaker's arms when they paid a visit to the Dragon Harper of the Weyr.
Squinting up at the sky, trying to guess what color dragon was flying over your home.
Searched. It was a bit surprising really when everyone had been told to line up. Of course, I was standing straight trying to look good but I never really imagined that a Search was actually going on. After all, I didn't see the dragon until I heard a voice in my head.
Surprised at the hold where the holder was meeting with several riders of their covering Weyr.
Cheering along with the crowd at your first Gather with Dragon Games.
You're brought to look at the eggs while the Queen has stepped out for a moment. Looking around at them, you are most likely to have thought:
How if these were the eggs of any lesser creature, they would make a wonderful omlet.
Which egg is going to hatch first, and if it will be bronze or not.
If there will be enough selection with your fellow candidates to prevent any newborn from going immediately Between.
How impossible it seemed that such massive creatures had such humble beginnings. It just boggles the mind to think that those majestic mighty saviors of Pern come from just tiny eggs... Well, tiny in comparison to what they actually grow into.

Oh yay, then I'll just slap em all here.
When you encountered a dragon for the first time, you were:

Shouldn't have been much of a surprise, after all every place here is protected by dragons. But you just don't think of these things until they're right in front of you.

Aren't there a lot of people in the weyr? And kids? Plenty of those - how is it there are even tales of dragons dying out of the shell because there weren't 'enough'?
When you first see a Weyr, your thoughts are about:
How many people and dragons were needed to run the Weyr.
And, how many people it *really* takes to fly a dragon properly...
Of the chores you're expected to do as a Candidate, your most liked one is:
Assisting the Head Cook's kitchen workers in preparing the meals.
While I would like to visit the runners and goats and such, I just happen to have a better talent for cooking and helping there. And no *way* would you catch me sitting around yammering with the girls about whoever the fancy boy is today with a sewing club...

Are glad to have gotten time off from chores.
Try to correct your posture and stare straight ahead, awaiting inspection.
Look around nervously and try to half-hide behind your friend.
Laugh and joke about what else is going on in the courtyard with the person next to you.
JKatkina: Congratulations! Your hope is far from in vain!

You wonder, for a moment, if this egg isn't trying to hatch a giant robin instead of a dragon. Or perhaps it's made of jade! And then a jade dragon with feather wings will burst forth and conquer the world! ...Or maybe not.
Answers noted and points awarded. =) You're already close to hatching!
DNS:Answer noted and point awarded! There are still three other questions I'm fairly sure you can answer for points. I didn't think I'd caught your answers on the LJ group. =)
Dracleia: Thank you! He has a beautiful name.
Houka Ryuu: Answers noted, and points awarded. Your egg sits there, looking mischievous. It's not quite ready to hatch yet!
Shard: Your egg trembles, but nothing more. You're close to hatching, it's just not sure yet what it wants to be! Answers noted, and points awarded. You, as well, are very close to hatching!
