All Hallows Eve

The swarm of bats circles about, chittering to one another as the wolves split and melt away back into the shadows. The swarm scatters, coursing away into the night, leaving several dark forms circling above.

One by one they land, changing shape as they do.

These are the Vampire base - while they're not traditional Dracula style critters, they do have many of the similarities. I have a true, full write up on them (and the other two bases as well), but I'm too tired at the moment to copy it from my notebook to here.

The relevant points are: They were born this way (making them "pure" vampires by many mythos), can take the form of bats, are fully bipedal, drink blood, are functionally immortal, have a strong telepathy power that gives them the Hypnosis/Control ability for free (I forget whether I wrote that down on the Abilities list for each, if not, you can add it) this power is useable at will, they can talk to others without triggering it, for instance, or trigger it without talking. I think that's the main points, but I can't be sure at the moment. The writeup goes into detail of their race and their clashes with the other two races, describes their powers in depth, and other such things.

The other two bases are actually scanned in, but are not yet inked, much less colored. I lost what progress I'd done on them because of a system crash on my silver machine (well, more like a system wipe -- I apparently missed a few files in the transfer over Christmas when my silver machine was being repaired, so I discovered a while back), so I have to re-gather my will to finish them off before they're done. Sorry about the wait.

OMG! They are awesome! And I agree with Dray, I love how velvety the wings look. Which, makes me want to ask, how wide would their wingspan be? Oh and just curious, what is their length when flying? And um... what do the abilities See invisible, Blood Vision, and Cloak of Darkness do?

Dray: The velvet-y look was an accident =P A fun accident, but an accident none-the-less. I decided not to do multiple arms or anything, because with just those modifications, the base has over 100 layers, and that's not counting the layers of stuff that weren't used (different head crests than those shown and different tail spades than those shown, mostly.)

Ryuu: They're described in the actual write-up. Give me a couple of hours and you'll have the entire thing on these guys.

That's the swept headcrest, the other two crests that showed up were crown and horn. Head crests that didn't make an appearnce were spines and frills. Spines were the only tail decoration that didn't show up, since the stinger showed up.. once, I believe.

My silver machine had to be clean wiped back in December because it was blue-screening all the time, and my dad believed that it was because of a combination of BIOS needing an upgrade and the video drivers going wonky. Unfortunately, it's starting to blue screen again, which means I need to call Dell and be like, "Hey, it's blue screening. Fix plz?"

Which means I'll be out my main typing machine for an unspecified amount of time as soon as I actually get up the nerve to call Dell and ask. I have another machine, my black tablet, but the screen is too small for the preferring writing style (two full word docs up at the same time) that I have. That, and the keyboard is like, tiny. And I mean tiny. It's maybe 10 inches across. Now, I don't have large fingers, but my fingers are very much used to a wider spacing, so I end up hitting two or three keys at once.
