Permanent is permanent. If a female got stuck male, she'd have a male body forever, though another magical intervention would allow her to be female again --temporarilly--. It wouldn't stick.

But like I said; I don't see a way to enforce a policy that , say, 1 in 5 dragons would get stuck.

People might not send Ryslen dragons to be the gender-swapee because of the policy, and denying you all that bit of plot mayhem is unfair.

and on an unrelated (except that it's Ryslen) note, I've just noticed that my Yahoo Group for Ryslen turned FIVE in July. Since the first post indicates the hatching of clutch four, I can't exactly say when Ryslen opened or when the first clutch hatched.

So much for anniversaries, huh?

Also, last note before I go update my thingies-- does this count for all ryslen dragons, or purebloods? By that I mean, are mutts, including the flurry mutts, included in that number? And other random/originals. Also, the evily beasties you draw, like the hydras, does that go for them too? Though I dunno if those will be figuring into it much. :/

Also, for the ryslens and whatever else you limit, at what point does that particular bit breed out. Is there still a danger of permanent change in something 1/2 ryslen, 1/4 ryslen, and onwards?

It goes for anything that hatched at Ryslen, Arx Atra Mons, or on Belrin Isle (Alskyr).

Dragons with Ryslen ancestry born elsewhere are under that artist's jurisdiction.

I won't count any exchange images I've done in that, because they're special. They won't get 'stuck' unless their owner wants it for a plot purpose.

I remember looking longingly at Ryslen's first clutch because it was all full when I found it... and then being thrilled to get a Candidate into the second one. Soooo long ago...

There was, a few weeks ago, a HUGE desire for many-many limbed dragons.

You might recall that I asked Shard's permission to breed Ghaniya to an undisclosed male. His name is Azlin Winterheart, and the lineart is done.

Here's a little sample:

There will be ten available, and I'm holding a little "raffle" to get them. No candidates or sponsors are necessary for these dragons.

To get "tickets" for the raffle, you need to send new candidates to Ryslen and/or Arx Atra Mons. If you have candidates at one/both of the places now, sending one more will gain the tickets for the candidates that are already in. To be clear: The candidates you send are for the clutches on the sands NOT for Ghaniya/Azlin's leggy offpring.

I will draw the winners when 3/4 of the clutches have filled.

If you're not a writer but are interested in these leggy dragons please PM or Email me to discuss alternatives.

I sent you a candidate, but he's not on the sands page yet. Did he get him and/or was he acceptable? He's going to have a semi-important role later on so it will be good to have incentive for the clutch to be filled. I also have a couple others I'm working on that I can send your way, including Tai, the Nesaran female mentioned briefly in Dorian's story. She'll become important later XD. But first things first, did you get my original candidate?

Stories are a must. They don't need to be epics, but I need to be able to get a feel for the person, so I can pick the best dragon.

What exactly do you mean by semi-traditional?

Gytiath's clutch will probably be gem-studded, Cyscatainth's clutch has an example (see the sands page), and Alanysath's clutch will be bi-colored or Lights; I haven't decided yet.

XD I'm not a fan of super-leggy-creatures, but I'm still pecking away at my big old AAM story. I'm not even going to suggest it's going to be ready before this semester is over, since the only time I get to go on the computer (aka, right now) is time I /should/ be doing homework and will pay for later. :\ Spending time writing stories would kill me. ;.;

I'll bet they'll look cool, though! XD

Yes, Shard, you get one automatically because Ghaniya's yours. I'm keeping one, and there's the possibility of a third non-raffled one, but the jury's still out on that.

But that one is totally seperate from the raffle (except for they're the same clutch) so if I pull your name (or hers) from the raffle, there'll be no penalty for "already having one."

So, with the non-raffles counted, there will be a dozen, or a baker's dozen (13) of Ghaniya-Azlin offspring.

You all know the Flurry's my pride-and-joy... but there's way too much going on in the Nexus right now, and we're in a severe candidate drought...

Even if I did bow to the masses and hold one this year (and there are so many tempting possible-participants out there!) getting a full compliment of bonders (or sponsors-with-stories ala Frux Ivou) would be like major surgery with no anaesthetic.

...

Maybe we should have a NaNoWriMo-esque "Nexus Writing Month" and fill up some of those nearly-forgotten-but-still-open clutches. (I hear Seiryuu's current clutch is like two years old...) No new clutches from the first to the last of that month... unless we fill /every/ open clutch we can find. (If anybody likes this idea, throw it into the ideas thread and debate/plot. I have to get ready for work now.)
