Otherforest Elves - Mystic! Watch out!

You ARE a pain.

I'll be on the lookout for it/them now.

And you love me anyway! Hehe. I sent you myself and Tiyanni. I'll have to think about who else I want to inflict, err... send.

Okay, I sent Emger, Selin and Alynn to you. Sorry for the extra blank one. I have no clue how that happened! Anyway, Alynn I would like to have wings but Emger dosn't have to. How and why he becomes a wolf you can choose for Otherforest version of him. Emger is my most complicated character - hey, he's got to be! He's the central character in my novels, darnit...*gets glared at by Segs*

Segs: I thought I was your central character!!

Alynn: *hides head under paws/wings* Oh, no. Not this again! Emger, shut her up!

Emger: I can't. Sooner or later we're going to need her to...

Alynn: Now you shut up, Mr. I'm-a-Seer-and-I-know-it-all!

Emger: Actually, I don't know it all. I...

Segs: Shut up, both of you! Now, back to why he's the main character and not me? Hmmmm...

Me: Anyone have any asprin or something stronger?

Oh my gahd. XD

Shard, you are awesome. *just finished reading the storything* My goodness you put a ton of work into this! Lovely story by the way. XD +AWESOME for colorshifter dragon for Night's Rain/Cloudburst! >DDDD >D!

re KTFE: wanderer would probably be okay for her. Honestly? Even if she was in a holt she'd probably still just do /whatever/.

Shard · Post by **Shard** » Sun Sep 04, 2005 9:52 pm

Everyone's images collected:

Of course the bandwidth will probably go down, even though these are tiny pictures there's like 50 of em.

Post by **StarFyre** » Sun Sep 04, 2005 10:01 pm

Yeah, like seven minutes later and it's already down, nice. *laughs* ^^

Post by **Dray** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 11:52 am

:DDD Yay, it's finally loading for me! ^_________^ Now I can start putting names to faces and vice versa! Loving the dragons you made up for this group (from what I can see, at least! ^_^) Whee, so glad this is all moving again. :D *much enjoyment* X3

Samber · Post by **Samber** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 11:59 am

Aaaaaghaah.

Gone.

*sob of frustration*

Shard · Post by **Shard** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 12:38 pm

I need to put the large pix on photobucket....

Post by **Dray** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 1:16 pm

X3! Yes, though they might shrink down in size! Maybe put links to the image on the main page, and/or throw all of the elves into photobucket?

Rachael · Post by **Rachael** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 1:41 pm

Shard? I <3 you. >XD That's ridiculously cool! Mike/Vanish feels all important-like seeing his "name" in the story, too. Hee, love that orange beauty. Is there a grand "plan" for these guys? As in, will we ever meddle/write for them? ^__^;

Mystic Dragon · Post by **Mystic Dragon** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 1:44 pm

*cough*

Weeeell... if anyone's interested, I could try starting up that mIRC channel again. We could use that to RP our chars a bit. Plus it logs so we can just add to the story as time goes on.

Post by **Dray** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 2:24 pm

;_; Post the logs from mIRC somewhere that I can read 'em?

Shard · Post by **Shard** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 2:26 pm

oog. irc. I can't figure it out, honestly... Plus, my hands are literally numb from the last 3 days of typing I've been doing...

tingly. hot.

I put the 800x600's on photobucket, since the elves images are hardly more than a few k each. it was those big ones that really sucked down the bandwidth. they're not large enough to be shrunk by photobucket, so they look okay.

Anyone's absolutely free to rp with em, I don't mind. I'm still working on the other dragons and I'll probably put them up with their stats eventually. You can make whatever you'd like with these guys, web pages or whatnot. Now that I've set the stage and (I hope) given enough info about the world and its workings, it won't be so mysterious.

The 'bad guys' will probably be sprung on you sometime. heh. They live in the Red Wall Canyon, in parts not so far as you'd think. Still far enough that they won't be running into you lot all the time, but enough that they can tromp through the desert (or fly, which is likely) once in a while and make trouble. Just so you can send em back in shame... Since you outnumber them about 10 to 1....

Rachael · Post by **Rachael** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 2:33 pm

Heh, I'd be up for mIRC, yes... And they could be posted publically, and run with a forum thread at the same time so that it would not limit people unable to utilize mIRC - or people on time constraints.

Oh yes, Shard, I just thought this <--- was amusing. Eh?

Indeed. Heh, a stage well set.

Post by **Dray** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 2:57 pm

XDD *cackles at Rachael's icon* XDDDD

Maybe some public forums or something would work well...? I'd like to get my char to interact with some folks who I don't normally RP with--along with those that I do! XD Oooh, I even have an idea for a bit of RP! Maybe once everyone begins to get settled in, everyone can wander back to that 'entrance' valley where the story left off, and folks can start off a bit of celebration?

:\ Also, trying to type with a tenser band on is tough stuff! XD I think I may go rest my hand for a bit.

Shard · Post by **Shard** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 3:14 pm

Oh I've got wrist gloves, but I also use frozen towels to keep the swelling down. It really seems to help...

The image of everyone on the first page is at that valley.

And yeah I love the icon!

woot!

Mystic Dragon · Post by **Mystic Dragon** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 3:23 pm

Well the reason I suggested mIRC is because our forum threads have a tendancy of dying. I like instant messaging and quick posts because it's easier to get in character and stay in character.

If not mIRC then maybe Yahoo? Or is there anyone here who knows how to work the Java script required for a chat room?

I'm all for the thread idea, but I would like some place where we don't have to spend eons writing out one post also.

Xalia · Post by **Xalia** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 3:24 pm

I've got a tagboard style 'chat' on my frenzy site if you want to use that....

http://www.geocities.com/tripaldi_frenzy/bonding.html

GildedLilly · Post by **GildedLilly** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 4:04 pm

Logged IRC is a good idea, I think- although for you people running on Windows, it poses a security risk. For casual RP where you don't need to remember what you did, I think I remember enough of the code to set up a java chat. Want me to try?

Post by **Dray** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 4:18 pm

:3 I'm happy with Xalia's chat board, though that can be a bit difficult since it goes 'backwards' from most chat board things. Could we try that (or something like it) first, and if it doesn't work out, you guys can meander over to mIRC? I'd really like to do a wee bit of RP (tonight? Anyone have free time tonight? :D), and I agree that message-boards tend to die out (quickly or slowly, it doesn't seem to matter!)

Like everyone's been saying, we can log things--and then store those logs on the forum! If anyone wants to do more 'private' RP's they can always do so on their free time, using whichever communication proggie they're comfortable with, right?

I'm only harping about mIRC (and Yahoo chat) because I can't use either of them. >_< My new connection has some super Firewall stuff going on, and I don't know how to get around it. XP Other then that.... wheeee, who's up for some Ahrrr Peeeeee~?

Mystic Dragon · Post by **Mystic Dragon** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 4:26 pm

Oh! I am! I am! I actually have the night off tonight!

And here's a second vote for Xalia's thing.

Xalia · Post by **Xalia** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 4:28 pm

Coolness...feel free to head in there anytime guys! I'm going to see a movie this afternoon but maybe I'll be back in time to join in for a bit!

What time are you thinking of?

Post by **Dray** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 4:30 pm

Okie... well... if Shard doesn't mind(?), how about we set something up tonight for around 6:30 or 7PM? (That'd be 8:30 to 9 on the east coast, 5:30 to 6 on the pacific), just an open thread that anyone can hop into at any time? And... if anyone misses it, perhaps a forum thread that people can post on at their leisure, with later orchestrated RP dates on demand? XD

Oh man, it'd be awesome if it turned out like some... you just wander in at any time of the day and there's someone else hanging around to RP with for an hour or two. X333 Those are fun. In any case... yar! That just gives me time to make supper, eat, and clean up the dishes. Dunno, if anyone else would prefer it starts later or sooner, they can feel free to throw their two cents in! :3

Xalia · Post by **Xalia** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 4:42 pm

Hmm...movie starts at 4:30 Pacific so I'd be back around 7...would be kinda late for the east-coasters but if you guys are still playing I'll definitely join in!

Post by **Dray** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 4:47 pm

Shard (belatedly): Ooh, frozen towels? Do you just throw one in for a few hours and wrap it around or something? O.o That's something I haven't heard of before!

XD Coolness, did they end up shaping some stuff in that valley before they all went looking for their homes, then? Or is anyone living there already, themselves? Orchard, if my memory serves me correctly?

Xalia: :3 If you want to show up later, I think that'd be perfectly fine! *is hiding out there right now until she has supper* Just post for your charrie and someone ought to reply... O_o' Though I only have the one, and I don't know how many other people will be showing up. X3 Just throw them into someone's conversation and all should go alright!

*is feeling silly right now* RP! :D

Xalia · Post by **Xalia** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 4:52 pm

*L* Well, since Bringer has the ability to pull thoughts from others' minds she can pop in anywhere! And yeah, I only have the one character too...I don't have any muses with major personalities to bring in with me! *L*

Silver Midnight · Post by **Silver Midnight** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 4:53 pm

When do we get our dragons? 0.o Sorry, dunno if you said anything about them, really...saw Samber had hers in her icon. So just curious. XD

Samber · Post by **Samber** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 5:00 pm

*blinks*

No I don't.... unless the baguette is a dragon.... o_0

Shard · Post by **Shard** » Mon Sep 05, 2005 5:24 pm

lol baguette dragon. It's Rachael that has hers in her logo, and I'll be eventually getting everyone's dragons out. Not run so much as a hatching as ... a 'getting'.

And yeah, I douse a towel in some water, wring it out, and then put it in the freezer for a while. I put it in a plastic bag so it doesn't freeze my skin and then as it thaws you can mold it around your hands and wrists. It does make typing a little hard, but if you use it off the keyboard it's nice. Feels really good actually. I should do that now.

I've been typing and playing coh all day... all weekend...
