Nexus Night Before Christmas 2013

Was the night before Christmas and all 'cross the board,
Wing'ed cats were about, as an unruly horde,
From lofts across worlds and in cities and mountains
Crapping on statues, nice buildings and fountains.

From Akelara came even more cat-things,
With big saber teeth instead of wee cat wings
Thrown out from the nest with great wild abandon
To any bold person big enough to have one.

One might call it an influx of devious felines,
Poised to take the place of our usual headlines,
If you will, a takeover of catlike proportions,
A coup against all the poor dragon orphans.

But Christmas is all about sharing, I think,
And there's enough room on our big skating rink
for all of the cat-things that you can throw at me,
Keep 'em coming, I'll be in conniptions of glee.

Cause no matter the creatures, it's lovely to know
That the Nexus keeps ticking along through the snow;
That there's people still on to read this stupid poem,
That you're keeping the hearth of our old common home.
