So, im trying to get a better visual timeline going for falas...does anyone know of a good javascript/css/perhaps php based timeline i could use? *pokes her attempt http://www.falas.magecircle.com/timeline.html * this is kinda what I want...but it dosn't seem to be flowing together well now that I add more stuff...

Also, what kind of stuff do you guys want to see on the timelines? Or what you expect to see.

I know for a fact that I could never in my life make a time line for even my most basic of Weyrs (Albion) because lol I just ... have no idea when anything takes place. I have the excuse for most of my dragons that "they're in the Nexus, time acts strangely here".

I think i started mine to figure out ages and the, so-and-so needs to be this age when this happens so...then it started me figuring out just about everything. I also have an age chart so that I know how old everyone is at a given year (approx...), so that my stories are a bit more accurate... But, as my lotro friend,Tay just told me, I'm complicated. Not sure if thats a good thing...but hey, its how I roll...or whatever the kids are saying these days *sighs*

(pink is when they time it, blue is Impression, green is when their dragons can join the wings/first mating flight, light blue means they're old enough to be searched, and red means they died)

lol Yeah.... I have trouble with just organizing my story-based stuff, let alone what happens when I move them from my fic to dragons. Hell I have what at least 3 different Zekira worlds - the "original", the "distant future which leads them to Planet 20" and the "dragonmasters" time lines, all of which I send characters from on a reasonably regular basis...

We should definitely have little badges that we can display under our avatars!

What type of badges are you talking about, Dray?

They'd probably have to be awarded manually, but the idea of having little visible notations for, say, quality-based achievements? 'Genetics Freak' as Yakima mentioned (though a little visual representation of that!) Maybe a badge for each year active in the Nexus, for every fifth story-based clutch, giveaway-based things (when Unyko was running those themed giveaways, if we ever get back to it again we could make specific badges to follow people who contributed to that...) Things like that! Just specify the pixel dimensions and we could create badges to fit the type.

Pern-fandom followers could make little hold-style badges, we could use different formats based on the forum (actual badges as in military style for OOC participation, and badges as might befit different worlds or a cross-Nexus style for semi-IC and IC tokens.

I suppose, back-end, that would mean finding a place under our avatars for these things and defining the dimensions of the pixels, along with what file formats (just .gif's? How about png's?) and then the front-side would require creating categories and the artwork for the badges.

...That's a huge project, but it might be a neat thing to aspire towards?
