Notes on daemon abilities:
- They can influence their own offspring's genetics to some degree. You can decide the degree of this, from being able to change colors, to changing physical traits, all the way up to adding or taking away limbs, tails, heads, whatever.
- They suck magic. They can steal magic from magic users, spells, or any other place that keeps or stores magic, and use it for themselves or "eat" it, sustaining themselves using the energy.
- Love is an addictive drug to them, and withdrawal (getting dumped, their mate dying, whatever) can get nasty. The more drastic cases can end in death, oh my! Anyways, this makes them more prone to taking a pragmatic approach to child-bearing and -rearing. They probably won't have any qualms about mating with friends if they want kids, though they understand that reproduction and romantic love are tied for most species. The nicer ones will respect this. The dicks will mock it.
