Redirecting issues when using the Nexus

Post by Dray »

For some reason, whenever I try to access www.deviant-uprising.com/nexus, I'm getting redirected to something called 'blackinternet.se'
We interrupt your web browsing for a message from OUR SPONSORS!
blackinternet.se
blackinternet.se
cheap webhosting for all your needs!!!
contact: Victor Möller
There's a link that says 'java-vm@http://www.deviant-uprising.com/nexus/SiteError.class'; the mail goes to 'victor@blackinternet.se'

The page then redirects to 'http://www.blackinternet.se/'

I've tried clearing out my data/cache from firefox's toolbar, the cache and preferences. I've tried looking up stuff about the DNS Changer Trojan, but according to DNS changer Remover I don't seem to have that trojan on my computer. (I'm using a mac, by the way.)

I've tried visiting Phe's portion of the site: http://www.xenoqueen.deviant-uprising.com/ and I'm not getting redirected from there. It's only from the Nexus' home page and from the deviant-uprising homepage that I'm getting this problem.

Kat says that she's not having a problem with this, and she's also using a mac from the same network as me.

When I use http://deviant-uprising.com/nexus I don't get this problem, however, every time I click on a new post, the link is to a http://www. address within the forum and I'm re-routed again to the blackinternet interruption message.

I'm searching through my computer for bugs but I'm not sure what else to do to get rid of this. It's a problem on both firefox and safari.

I'm running firefox on windows XP 64 and am not having this issue. But, could it be a virus? I know in the past I've been redirected when online (to mostly porn sites) because of a virus infestation. What antivirus software are you using?

Well, good to know I'm not going insane.

I had the same issue a bit earlier today, though I didn't have it when dealing with the root (plain ol' deviant-uprising.com). I doubt it's a trojan or redirector, because (and this is important) in affected none of my other tabs except the Nexus. And it didn't affect my other browser, either, even when I went to the Nexus with it.

I have no idea what caused it or how I got rid of it (I closed both tabs then opened new ones, and the problem just stopped, so I unno), but since I doubt you and I both got infected with the same exact thing at the same exact time (with no results on ad-aware or avira antivirus on my side), I'm going to say the internet is acting weird...

EDIT: For the record, I'm not having problems with either deviant-uprising.com/nexus or the www.deviant-uprising/nexus variant anymore. ...

I'm not seeing it at all, maybe it is a virus common to some site you've hit? Sounds like a spyware to me, making you hit some 'sponsor' site.
