My mom sent me this in an e-mail and I thought I'd share because it's very interesting to see the differences of today and 104 years ago.
I think it's San Fransisco (don't quote me, though >.<). Someone strapped a camera onto a cable car thing and filmed all the way down the street. It's funny watching the cars because there is no way one can do that these days. lol
Thank goodness for traffic laws ... o.o Seriously, I can't imagine how there weren't a dozen accidents while they were filming
And didn't they have electric wires on the trolleys? I didn't see any but then that might have been the grain of the film. Kinda odd, I didn't think they had any other form of propulsion?
Every cable car is pulled along it's hilly track by an underground cable. The cable is gripped with a vise-like mechanism that is operated via the grip lever in the front of the car
