She is a polite woman who is willing to bow to authority, given that she knows that slacking off is often frowned upon. Surprisingly enough, while she loves open water, Lehsoa hates beaches. The grains of sand, the midges, the squalling children and seagulls... she'd much rather be floating in saltwater than getting eaten alive on the sand!

He stands nearly ape-like, with extended arms tipped in sharp, black talons, and digitigrade legs. Nautyon looks just as comfortable on all fours as on his hind legs, and in fact chooses to move this way whenever the situation calls for speed!
Personality: Nautyon has some issues that he needs to work out that he will probably never get to fully deal with. Abandoned by his mother for his horrific appearance, his ugly mug of a face has terrified countless others as he grew up. He is distrustful because of this, and tends to avoid people if possible. He is a bit misogynistic -- his mother abandoned him, after all, and he will never forgive her -- and has learned that to get by, trickery and sometimes sheer might are the best tools to make a living. He has become a thief, and has even managed to cobble together a small gang of likeminded individuals -- with he as their leader, of course. That isn't to say that he trusts his gang. He regularly worries that he will be stabbed in the back, so he has taken to being very careful with where he sleeps and what he eats. He was once snagged by townspeople and very nearly drowned, so he tends to avoid fountains and creeks and rivers. If he could find a place that was cold year around, he would probably move there. Freezing temperatures seem to have no affect on this man.

She can't leave well enough alone, and usually gets into trouble for sticking her nose into situations that she should very well have avoided. Shey has a mothering instinct that seems to flicker on and off depending upon her mood, meaning that she can be very protective of, say, an orphaned bird for several days, and then leave it on its own should she lose interest.

Appearance: Kayoi, like other Fae, is essentially humanoid in appearance, with the few exceptions common of her species. Her hair is bright cerulean blue, her skin midnight black. She's also perhaps a head shorter than a human of average size, but with a proportionate and lithe body shape to match it. She is exotically pretty, and in build not so very different from being human. Another questionable exception might include her eyes, which ARE blue, but are such a bright and vivid shade that one might question whether that color would occur in humans or not. Kayoi prefers to wear light clothing, usually in modest colors, like earth tones.
Personality: Kayoi is a live wire, grumpy and snappish one moment, enthusiastically happy the next. It may be that she does this on purpose, because to her, the worst quality a person can have is being predictable, and it seems she dedicates her life to the pursuit of being unique and spontaneous. It's difficult to track her interests, because they usually change from week to week. She'll pursue something like a woman possessed at one moment, then boredom sets in and she finds something else to study. As a result, she seems to have an uncommon wealth of knowledge about many things, though often it is partial and she has no qualms abut making up things to fill the gaps. It does seem as though the only constants that remain in her life are her bonded dragon and her eager enthusiasm for adventure.

She often sports boyish clothing, slacks, boots and maybe a bodice on rare occasions, but otherwise maybe a well-worn tunic. She doesn't seem to mind her appearance much; she's a busy, active girl and she's apparently got other things on her mind.
Personality: Alenna could be best described as naive. She's youthful and exuberant, energetic and reckless. She's the first to be ready to do whatever dare the other Weyrbrats challenge her to and usually the first one to get caught doing it. She's a bit of a tomboy and graceless at that; she'd rather tussle with "the guys" than dress up and be polite any day. Bruises and skinned joints are commonly sported by this active young girl.
Despite her rather carefree attitude, Alenna has a good heart. She's a loyal and true friend when she needs to be (though don't be surprised if she scatters with the others when someone gets hurt playing), and at her very core she's a bit insecure. Despite this, she's bright, and if she applies herself, a quick learner.

edit: I also imagine them to be quite 'strict' about surnames somehow... since they're not raised by their parents, and their age in relation to their parents/siblings/cousins can get so warped, I think they'd need to have some way to keep an eye on who's having babies with who.The worlds of Urara and Adia (often refered to as the combined "Urara'adia"), are basically - in essence - planets of much the same description. Sharing the same orbit around the Tiniomi sun, both Urara and Adia are largely water based planets with almost identically placed landmasses.
Adia, of the two, supports a much more diverse range of plant life (for reasons that should become clear later), while Urara can lay claim to having changed little since first 'becoming'.
Little is known about how the two planets came to be, and despite many theories on the part of the inhabitants, the generally accepted conclussion is that some of the devine powers of the universes saw fit to create the two planets in the Tiniomi sector.
Religion on both planets is fairly similar, and while travel between the two planets is rare - it does occur. Three times per person per lifetime to be exact - with exceptions being made for the 'gate-keepers' to whom I will return to later.
Urara, you see, has magic present that is not to be found on Adia. There are many effects of this magic, but the most notable is the 'suspense' that the planet keeps the occupants in. In effect, living on the planet of Urara allows a person to never age.
Appealing for someone of the age of say 21.
Not so appealing for a new born babe.
As such, the tradition on Urara'adia is that when a child is born it is taken by the gatekeepers (four of which are to be found, two living on each side of the gate) and carried through into Adia - where the child is left in the care of the Valenar.
The child is then left to grow and age as any normal child on the planet of Adia, until around 17 - 25 years of age, when they return through the gate to Urara where they remain until they grow tired of immortal life.
At which point, the final passage through the gate is made, and the person lives out the rest of their life - usually assuming the role of a Valenar, or foster parent, for those children that come through the gates.

As my luck would have it, most of the hydra clutch look like hydras, so instead of leaving a couple of people out of the running and making them wait, I decided to move on to the next clutch, get it finished up, and once that one is done, I will release a smattering of both together. (I actually like doing it this way better for some reason... this thread was always meant to be more of a grab bag than a 'see what clutch is next and apply for it' sort of thing. XD I may hold off a little longer so that I have more finished!)
Also, school is getting pretty heavy, so I need to reel in my focus and apply it to homework and projects instead of dragons. :x I'll manage to wedge the Nexus in somewhere, though!

Despite her rather carefree attitude, Alenna has a good heart. She's a loyal and true friend when she needs to be (though don't be surprised if she scatters with the others when someone gets hurt playing), and at her very core she's a bit insecure. Despite his reptilian appearance, Ilieh is more often than not found wearing very civilized suits or professional lab coats.
Personality: He is far from beastial, being very intelligent and possessing a rational, logical outlook on things. Ilieh is something of a scientific prodigy, having been born of two geneticist parents as part of an experiment, and continuing their work in his own endeavors.
This Draekon can seem a little cold and distant at times, but this is because he has a hard time expressing affection. He never really learned how to, though he does make honest efforts on those that he has grown to care about. He has a way of wording things that can seem intentionally cruel, though Ilieh usually just says it like it is. He's most at home when he's with his work, or with his two flits. Being around others can make him short-tempered and impatient -- mostly coworkers, as he does love to travel and see other species.

I wasn't planning on doing anything with them personally, that was just kind of a historical snippet that popped out and helped blend them with the Sari'Tonas, who I'd created before the Draekon. XD; Right now I just kind of wanted to get them out there in the Nexus. If someone wanted to breed themselves a Draekon, I say go head. I'm thinking they're also probably breedable with any Nexus dragon (even if the logistics of that makes me giggle when it comes to the larger species XD).
Most Draekon outside of a Selected vessel would have no problem breeding outside their race - though I do think that a Draekon who was raised with the Selected and left (like Ilieh) would have a cultural preference for same-sex relationships with non-Draekons, simply because they were raised that way, i.e. if you prefer hetero relationships only, stick with your species, if you don't mind dabbling with a partner of the same sex, sky's the limit.
Edit: I forgot to add that I love Enrazenoc! *clings to him* Niteshan mutt love. <3 I also forgot that I'd remembered Draekon are supposed to have magical abilities! If you've previously taken any you'd like to have abilities, you can just pick a couple from the Draekon info page, they're right at the top.

I need to snag the Draekon link again! I don't think I've gotten to the point where I've paged any that you've given me yet (I'm working my way down the list... XD I just got to Delyar's Algae and Apiscavor if you want to to try to place how close I am to your earliest Draekon submissions! X3)
Every cycle I wind up creating a few offspring from the humanoid denizens of the Nidus, since with the way that things are working, there's a chance for the offspring to grow up and become riders themselves over time! I just wanted to make sure that it was okay if a Draekon that had stayed at Nidus Corona and happened to produce offspring (say from a human, because humans seem to be the dominant bond-species there!) if that would be okay. XD I think that what I'll do, if you want to keep sending Draekon characters in, is to send you back the Selected vessel ones or else have a huge stamp on them with 'DO NOT HAVE BABIES UNLESS WITH OTHER DRAEKON!!' on their pages so that I won't forget!

I wouldn't mind if you came across a Selected-born Draekon you liked and wanted to have offspring by, I don't really like keeping a firm hand on my species like that, mostly. X3 I think it'd be an interesting plot device for a Selected to love a non-Draekon and be wracked with cultural bias. Oh, the angst.~
I myself think I'm going to do a Piralan/Draekon mix as one of my next candidates, now that I've mentioned them breeding Nexus dragons (and if Jkat's ok with it). Anyone have a Piralan they'd like to offer as a parent? I like the idea of a cool blue-skinned Draekon with flaming red hair/fur patches. XD
