.....is this person male or female? XD Heheheheh. I'll leave the question open and if anyone actually tries to guess, I'll give the answer and a little more insight into the doodle.

Otherwise, how's it look? Some of the inked lines are botched, will be fixing those before coloring. And the background 'creature' is supposed to be spirit-y, so yes I am fully aware that it isn't all there. ^_~ Comments?

ew - that's hard. Not knowing a shred about who it's meant to be and what kind of universe you're working in, I'll still butt in and guess.

On first glance and with my 'practiced anime-manga eye' I have to say male, but that may be through the vagaries of your style and not any purposeful working.

The face is sharp, and usually those narrow eyes are reserved for men - even with the longer 'lash' area. The mouth is high and the nose is not petite. The collar bones are more feminine, and there's the hint of the underarm-breast bump - but also, that's possibly attributed to a tight bodice.

The hands are distinctly male in my opinion.

It could very well be neither gender or both - obviously you're making us guess for a reason

But my first guess is male.

That's the point. Without knowing who it is, guess the gender. ~Cackles~ Also keep in mind that I'm not an anatomy expert, but if anyone else wants to hazard a guess before I say what it is, go ahead. ^_~

I'm going to guess the same thing - for more or less the same reasons Shard mentioned. The hair, too, looks masculine to me - the anime girls I've seen tend to have sleeker, smoother looking hair. So, first impression: male.

When I showed this picture to people that don't watch anime, they thought it was female. When I showed it to people that have, they said male.

This character, as guessed, is male. Me, I've just finished reading all ten Petshop of Horrors manga and Count D was a significant influence. ^_^ (If you haven't read it, REEEAAADDDD IT, it's -so good-.)

His name is Yulaan, and he is one of the seven Guardian Kirin of my realm. That's his 'beast' form in the background. He retains his horn (and fuzzy ears) when he shifts, regardless. :D

My guess would also be male, through knowledge of anatomy and seeing how you draw females. His (I think) shoulders are distinctly wider than his hips, giving him a much more masculine than feminine look. In addition he has more angles to him, even with the sash. His face, I think, looks feminine by anime standards--the eyebrows are too high-set, the eyelashes.

Or, maybe it's neither?

I loved the dragon egg issue... Have you watched the video? It's 4 episodes, that's all. It's a shame they haven't brought more over and/or made more I don't think there are further episodes.

No, don't cringe. This particular dub is really good. I've heard that the original voices don't even come close to doing the characters justice. (Like, well, D's voice is this fluffy *still obviously male* but male in the pretentious fruity ass way guys wearing dresses like to speak, with a willowy soft airy voice...; his Japanese version apparently doesn't make any attempt to raise his pitch or anything, just a guy speaking. :/ )
