Paint the Town Series

Post by Sargon »

Well sometimes i don't like posting my art here cause no one SAYS anything. If they look at all xD

anyway, if you're looking yay i love you. <3

This is from a series i'm doing (the next two are in ze works) called "Paint the Town". The first one (red) is of Dereo, my fien-krakin ministry man. The second (blue) is Anubyss Rayllom's grim reaping god of disorder, who recently got elf-i-fied as Jackal. :D

Critique and comments highly apperciated. ;)

These are gorgeous, Sargon... they're so very detailed. I like the hatching and cross-hatching effect you used for shading especially. ^^

The only thing I can come up with to possibly improve is that with all the detail in the background, the figures are initially a bit hard to pick out. The first one is better in that regard, I think... most of the background around the figure is less solid (and colorful) than he is, so he stands out more easily. The butterfly swirly thing in the corner also does a good job of drawing the eye to Dereo, so that you know where to look. I'm not quite sure why the swirl in the second doesn't have the same effect for me - it might be that although his skin is very visible against the background colors, his shirt blends in somewhat. So why they're both lovely, I'm going to say the first one is my favorite.

Astra: thanks man! and no you don't suck! don't say that xx; <3

Caco: the squiggilies dind't take that long really :D Dereo took more time to color than half of them xD. thanks~ <3

Angeoria: Thanks. Yes, at their full size it's a lot easier to define the characters and i agree Dereo looks better againist his background. Yes, i should have given Anny a better shirt color but i didn't want to do a brown or a gray, for some reason i wanted white ;D so i did. But yes! i will definately keep that in mind when i do green and yellow. I think it's the size and direction of Dereo's swirl that makes it work better. And there's a story behind the butterfly ;)

Mystic: you may be HIS ONLY fan girl ;_; he'll be SO HAPPY. <3<3
