I've been wondering about how to determine the genetics of the pernese dragons that were altered. I know genes can be dominate or recessive. I also want to hone done the rares (mostly at Falas) that hatch on Falas sands - except the FGPC. Truthfully, I think I went overboard with the rares in the Tenth Pass....so...would anyone mind if I throw a notation in the Weyr Archives for the Falas clutches somehow to determine what kind of rares a rare (or a normal color from rare parents or with a lot of rare siblings) can give off...or do you want me to leave that to all you if/when you get a Falasian dragon clutch on your sands....or mate with a female, rare or not?
Not that I have the widlest clue as to how to make note of that... Just throwing out the idea....
If you're trying to keep the rares down, why not state that those that you gave out are either infertile, or have very very very slim chances of breeding successfully? It'd be like... "Woot! I got the rarest! It'll stay rare! :D" so it's a double-whammy of elitist goodness.
Considering that clutch 17 dragons are all pretty much...missing/gone...I'm not too worried. Though I've decided that Niayith carried a dominate gene for rares and Zenith didn't.
I'll figure something out along those lines, Dray. Then I can start getting really fussy with clutches and rares to 'appease' by traditonalists of the Weyr *smacks K'man and J'ren in the head*
I also realized I still have a missing egg from Niayith and Zenith's clutch that was never accounted for, according to the hatching story...there was two. One was Ainnth...hmmm...I wonder what Tayalia and Avsiruth did with the second one...and what it will be....
