I meant to make a post before we actually left the old place about how we were moving out early than expected, and not to expect us (maerwynn and I, that is) around for a couple days. And then I packed my computer. Oops.
Anyway, after a stupid amount of trouble, we finally have the internet set up in our apartment and we're (sort of) moved in (the bed, computers, kitchen and cat stuff are all set up, anyway).
Yeah, we got here and then realized we don't actually own silverware. We were eating with plastic utensils ganked from the fast food restaurant we worked at until we got paid on Monday
It's very interesting the things we're discovering that you actually need.
I, for a very long time, referred to my living room as "My Campground", because I had nothing in it. It was a TV on the floor that my mom didn't want to move when she bought a house and I took over the rent, and a couch that I was told I needed. And a folding chair for the kitchen. No table, no chairs, no furniture except my bedroom furniture. And oddly six sets of mis-matched silverware because EVERYONE insisted I didn't have enough. >_>; *SHRUG*
Yeah, the only furnature we actually own is a really awesome pink chair. We have stolen the futon and television that I was using at my dad's, and this brown end table/box that my cat loves.
I feel like I'm back in uni, except worse, because I'm using empty packing boxes for a desk, etc.
It's a lot of fun though. At least we have dishes now. And my dad bought us pots as a house warming gift, so we can actually cook.
Lol, I helped my boyfriend move into his apartment when I was out in OK, it was really funny helping him move in. The amount of stuff his mom went and got for him I think made him nuts because he had already bought all his stuff and he was taking for an apartment from a friend that'd just got married and left lots of stuff behind for him. I know it took him forever to convince her 'no you don't need to buy me pots and pans'. Midori's mom mailed them, they're in the mail.
Oh man, I know how you feel. We just moved out and are currently using the furniture that was left behind by the last tenant, since we moved into a shared house. XD (Woot) I'm still getting used to... sharing... things. (Being a single child has prepared me woefully poorly for living in a situation like this. "Don't mix that cutlery in with yours! It's mine! DX")
Hahahah yeah it was weird when me and my ex moved in, but you get used to it. Though each roomie has their own style. My Worst RoomMates Ever weren't anywhere near the same as living with just one person. Heh and I wound up with most of "our" stuff anyway, when we split up. Blankets, plates... whatever.
