On the other hand, I can't sleep, nor can I read anything more complex than a single, fairly linear post... so no reading a book.
Anyway. I had these bases done a couple days ago and found to my joy that I can actually focus on a relatively simple base (meaning no 3 billion layers or huge as, like, any of my standard unfinished templates for dragons.)
They're tiny. And I mean the flits, not last the base. The hatchling babies are about two inches tall, and 4 inches from nose to tailtip. The adults are no more than six inches tall, and 12 inches from nose to tailtip. They have cat-like intelligence levels, and no set personality. They can be trained to do a variety of things, including acting as eyes for the blind, as their "telepathy" is based in images, and with training they can learn to send a continuous visual stream to their partner. (People "seeing" like this will need to get used to the positioning of the flit's eyes, as well as the fact that they see in a much wider variety of colors, able to differentiate shades that humans can't, and also into both the infrared and ultraviolet spectrums.) The "telepathy" is limited to about 50 feet.
They bond only to the extent that a cat or dog might bond to an owner, and their very personalities mean that one may be as closely tied to a single person as a dragon to its rider, while another may be as wild as a feral cat.
They have tiny clutches of eggs, between 1 and 4 in a clutch. The eggs are barely an inch tall at the largest. The eggs are generally a pale to dark violet in color, with subtle swirls.
Standard colors are:
Red
Black
Brown
Gray
Yellow
Mutations that are Semi-common:
Violet (Red mutation)
White (albinism due to specific recessive genes attached to Black)
Orange (Brown mutation)
Blue (Gray mutation)
Amber (yellow mutation)
Mutations that are extremely rare:
"Amethyst Frost" (Violet mutation)
Silver (Partial albinism creates a silvery sheen)
Gold (Orange mutation)
"Cobalt Frost" (Blue mutation)
Copper (Amber mutation)
Another class of mutations that are also extremely rare:
Bi-color (One base color and one marking color)
Tri-color (One base color, two marking colors)
Patterning (One Base color, one color in distinct "patterns" or "designs" (mostly things like tattoo-like designs would be classified as Patterning))
Color Switch (wing color becomes body color, and body color becomes wing color: these flits are infertile)
It's common for the wings to be a different color from the body. along with the small crest down their necks. The only exception is Albino (white) which is pure white.
Wing color adds another set of colors and mutations:
Green
Red
Blue
Black
Less common:
Cyan (Green mutation)
Orange (Red mutation)
Violet (Blue mutation)
Gray (Black mutation)
Rare:
"Emerald Frost" (Cyan mutation)
Brass (Orange mutation)
"Amethyst Frost" (Violet mutation)
Silver (Gray mutation)
Very Rare:
Color Fade 2 (One color fades into a second)
Color Fade 3 (as CF2, but with 3 colors)
Here is the example flit. This is a Black, with Green wings.

So, if anyone wants one, put a request in here. All colors are legal at the moment, but please keep requests for the rare colors to a minimum. You can ask for as many as you'd like.
