He'd be best on a dark background. >.< Sorry, it's been so long since I used Photoshop, and I couldn't get the outline to go right.

Hehe, thanks...been so long since I actually colored anything on the computer.
I think it looks like it's related to Aldyss.

Myrror!

So uh, realizing that I needed to get this done, I also realized that I left my tablet at my boyfriend's house >.>;; So it's done in pastel pencils on (stupidly enough) computer paper. I tried to get rid of as much of the halo as possible when I made it transparent, but I think it'll still look better on a light background. Hope it's acceptable.

Both - though it's much more common for me to color with it than draw. I've always been a big fan of "scribblecribblescribble-erase the lines that don't seem to fit, continue scribbling" and it's much harder to do with a tablet, though it's much better than a mouse.PinkDragon wrote: do you draw with your tablet or just color?
It's also been so long since I picked up pastel pencils to color with that I had to remember how layering them effectively worked. That and "... wait.. I need to make something glow. How do I make pastel pencils look like something's glowing?!" Since I can't even do it very well on the computer...
I think it worked out okay. Some of those pattern markings are definitely getting sketched out to be used later, since they're actually fleshed out "Warrior Marks" from one of my special-game-world-race-of-doom (which gets exterminated so completely at the beginning of the game that they never existed at all. Ever. Except in the memories of a select few and as the heritage of one strange, impossible half-breed. I love events that destroy the continuity of time itself.) In any case...
Yeah - and blue flames are an obsession of mine. Because blue is such a sexy color for fire to be. So cold, so un-fire-like... until you touch it, and then you can't tell if it's cold beyond freezing, or hotter than the hottest hell, cause it just hurts.
No, I'm not crazy... >.> ... <.< .... .... I swear

One of the only fully tablet drawn images that I have is this one: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v478/ ... el/war.jpg (because huge (10-12 feet tall) armored velociraptor style mounts is what every good Knight needs!)
A midway point is this image: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v478/ ... /wing2.jpg where the dragoness was hand sketched then scanned in, colors added, then the outline removed (note that the only thing defining her is the shading I put in place, which I'll admit isn't the best - this was my first attempt at doing something in this style) and the background and wisp-wings added in with the tablet.
But there are small examples of me drawing things with my tablet scattered throughout the nexus - one of the more recent examples is DNS's December Exchange dragon that I gave her: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v478/ ... change.png -- the swirl patterns are drawn with the tablet, as are any bit of jewerly or the cloth wraps on the dragon's legs. Also, any new image that you see me create is outlined by use of my tablet, then the original paper drawing discarded from the finished image, as opposed to images like the Alevaharin, where the original sketch is still there.
As for using my tablet, I learned how to do so through sheer stubbornness and pride - I asked for one for Christmas, my dad got me the biggest Wacom tablet, and there was no way I was going to sit back and let that toy lay around. What I found that helped was to set aside small chunks of time - just enough for me to practice, not enough for me to get unduly frustrated, until the time that I could practice started getting long enough for me to outline and color entire images in a day. I think my real breakthrough was when I did the dragoness image, because that proved to me that - while yes, I really don't do backgrounds well at all ever, I can do a background better with the tablet than I can by hand.

JKatkina!

Sorry for the delay, I was having trouble figuring out the shading (and it's still off! D'oh! XD)
I hope you like it -- I know you love fire, so I turned the glowies into firey bits, and gave it a red-hot-coal belly! Um... might wanna be careful if you plan on breeding it. I have a feeling that that'd be an uncomfortable experience. XD
(PS: Put it on a dark background for best effect. ^^;)

I think we all spaced on this, fuzzface.
