Ashen Stage for the Khaurane

Post by Yakima »

I'm probably going to ink this tonight but did want to show it off. This is the last stage (other then ash) that a phoenix goes through. I tried to make them look old and nearly dead at first but decided to let them be at there peak of beauty with longer feathers and hair on the elbows and tail. Any line that makes it look skinny and sickly is probably not going to be carrying over in the inked version.

I have a few other things to do before I work on this so if you have anything to say in terms of fixing it please speak.

Also, if those with a phoenix want to breed them in a pure breed clutch, please feel free to fill out the form. However, a female will only have one or two kits at a time - three is rare.

Wow... that's amazing Yakima. It looks kinda tired with it's head down like that. :D Though it might be because all those feathers are heavy. Really amazing.

:P Yeah, I went for a tired look but not beceause the feathers are heavy. They can carry up to five-times there weight so feathers are as light as...er...feathers! *facepalm* This is the last appearce they have before they curl up and die in flames. They're tired from living so long. They're bodies are only good for a certian amount of time before they have to get rid of them and start over with a new body (though they never change color or markings). Sil had the perfect word for they're aging which was reincarnation which is perfectly true for them. I just couldn't think of that word when I was tying the info for them...heh...*cheers for Sil* :P

*is currently inking image* :)

For anyone that is still waiting for the ashen stage - I'm slow. Sorry. Been kinda tired (more emotionaly then physically which is worse, I think), so my artistic side is sleeping. But I would like to inform everyone that the ashen stage is also what they look like in the Netherworld after there first incarnation - they are a bit more ghostlike and transparent in that world but once they reach this stage they never go back to looking like a kit in Death. They're spirits never change. make sense?

Just needed to say that as I keep forgetting to post...

Hey is it possible to get the adult (not ashen) stage for my Ayvin? Poor little guy is still a kit... Doing some web-snooping I figured out his adult image is uploaded but I feel bad ganking it without permission.
