broken finger....?

Yeah, looking like it. I described it to my friend who just had a nasty break in her leg (I trust she'd know) so... I'm about to splint my finger. Which means that not only will I be in pain for a while, but it will be harder to type.

My left (unbroken, and nondominant hand) is going to hurt too...

I will probably, stubbornly, continue to try to update. But please bear with me. I have never (to my knowledge) broken anything, except my nose, so... I'm not sure how to treat it.

And no, I'm not taking it to the doctor, unless I absolutely have to. >3

Eeeeew, ow. If you have exposed bone, or a bone that looks to be poking up to but not through the skin YOU MUST MUST MUST go to a doctor. It MUST be set. Hopefully it's just a sprain or something, but if there's a bone break involved you could be putting yourself into more danger than it's worth. Small bone shards and the insides of bones are lethal in the brain. PLEASE go to a doctor. If you need help with payments, just ASK. PLEASE.

Nope, no exposed bone, in fact it's straight... just super tingly. x.x That was the thing, more than hurt I got this intense sensation of the impact and a zing (allcaps). Dropped two soup cans out of the cupboard onto my finger. Now it feels like a cross between a stubbed toe and a "sleeping" limb. Though it hurt like hell after some ice, got really hot suddenly and lots of pain. New experience. Yes. x_x Now I type slow, with lots of mistakes. Ok, must go shower, then splint, and ice. x__x; I'll be lurking at least... XD;

You might have like struck a tendon or something. If you can move it and touch it, it's probably not very broken... :/

-cringe- ;-; ajhskdhajkh. I regularly break my toes, which is really sad to say, but yes. -fuss- I'm the type of person who'd say go to the doctor regardless, especially for a limb like your finger, which you use for typing wrong and whatnot. If it heals wrong, it could be more fragile and there are other problems too.
is it on your drawing/writing hand?

Hokay, more pain today, especially since I work in the office. 3 bids and misc. Good thing dad/boss needed me for 3 hrs instead of more than 4... The Aleve stopped working after 3 hrs. ^^; But I only take two at a time, and my old perscription was = to... 4.5 I think? So I'll take 4 next time and pass out. Yay! =D

The real pain, the worst pain, hit between joints if that makes any difference, tho I think all of my finger was impacted by some thing or other... my nail actually started coloring after a few minutes (tho later on it had turned back to normal?)

And yes, its my writing hand, and I have something I have to do which requires much writing. Not sure how I'm going to do that... I can write lefthanded but it takes a lot of concentration, and the wrist cramps after only a short time.

Anyway, all I can see the doc doing to improve my situation is casting it... it would immobilize it better, and allow me to rest my arm without jarring the finger. x.x; Any pain meds they could perscribe would only impair me head and I'm needed at work.

I hate typing this slow! Mistake rate is horrid! If I didn't correct myself in my usual anal way, you could mistake me for some kind of leet newb or drunken rambler. DX

I guess it's time for an update! I've had the splint off my finger for about two days now... I'm stubborn, so since I was not in excruciating pain I did not go in to have it x-rayed. I can bend my pinky and ring finger entirely (and extend) if I concentrate and do it slowly. It gets better every day. I send "vibes" at it and tell it to get better or threaten to amputate. I think it's working. =D That or it wasn't as bad as I was worried it might be.

Anyway, though it hurts at varying levels throughout the day (twinges, aches, the rare muscle spasm), I can indeed type (ie, with my pinky) and write now. I will not be writing any long stories, drawing, or coloring for a few days, maybe a week yet, since my work revolves around typing (just to give myself SOME break). In the meantime, I will be spending my time online, writing posts like this (filling people in), watching anime on Youtube, feeding my PI ponies and surfing, and that sort of thing.

And try to update those pages I really need to update, when I'm not in a lot of pain AND haven't had a hellish day at work. So far I haven't had one like that this week tho... ^^;

Otherwise, things are looking up I suppose...
